My phone is a non-developer version that I bought from the verizon store about a year and a half ago. I installed the OTA update from verizon a couple of weeks ago for Marshmallow and ever since I updated my phone no longer vibrates for anything. The haptic feedback vibrations have stopped, notifications and the phone ringing don't vibrate either. I've gone through all of the sound settings on the device and no matter what settings I use the phone just doesn't vibrate. Oddly enough the other day when I powered off my device and removed the battery then put it back in and turned it on the vibrations came back for only a few seconds before stopping completely again. Seems to me like there's some sort of hardware problem but I don't understand how that could've been caused by the update. Vibrations worked perfectly fine for me before updating and even though I like Marshmallow i'm starting to wish I never upgraded in the first place. I almost constantly keep my phone in Vibrate mode when i'm out and about but this update has forced me to keep my ringer on at all times now. Please let me know if there's any suggestions out there on how to fix this annoying issue!
You can do a factory reset, save what ever is important to you before do the factory reset..

I have a t-mobile tp2. I put on the htc 6.5 firmware on and it was working very well. All of a sudden, i come to use the phone and it's turned off. I can't even turn it on. I have to take the battery off and then turn it on. I thought something with the firmware was corrupt so i loaded a different firmware. Same thing! Happens about once a day. Sometimes i can go a day or so without it doing it. Is my phone bad? Any advice? Thanks!
Before you upgreaded to wm 6.5 it was the same way?
I've got an EU version with the stock HTC 6.5 upgrade which happens to be connected to TM UK. I too get these occasional lock-ups but I don't think the phone turns off, just refuses to wake up (had one today and the green LED notification was still blinking) - again a battery removal and soft reset is the only cure.
I've been getting less since a hard reset last week but still once every few days - somewhat annoying!
My touch pro 2 does the same thing. Except i have narrowed down the symptoms to after the phone goes on stand by for 3rd or 4th time. It doesnt turn off it actually goes into like a stand by that it can't come out of unless you soft reset the phone. Which is really weird. I am running 6.5. i have replaced everything and can not figure out what is causing it to do it. i have cooked so many different roms with no luck. I am also using build 28002. any help please!! i hate to have to soft reset my phone every 15 minutes or so... very annoying.
Hello. My problem is with the phone's vibrator. 2 or more weeks ago I got the same problem, when I dropped my phone from the bed tot the floor (aprox. 40 cm height), it stopped vibrating for feedback, messages and calls. At that time, I thing I either turned it off and removed battery or just do a reboot, but it started working again until 3 day ago. Since then it stopped working completely. I tried turning it off, reboot, removing the battery for 15 min., nothing worked. I have no vibration feedback (for example when I type a phone number or message), no message receiving vibration, no incoming calls vibration and not even when I turn on/reboot the device does my phone vibrate(it was a small vibration when you turned on the phone). Today I thought I should first try to change my ROM prior to trying to replace the faulty vibrator, but when I selected to reboot to recovery, my phone rebooted and vibrated at the beginning, so I thought the bug is gone. I went back in to the phone and I had: vibrate feedback (typing a phone number), message vibrate, didn't have time to test the call vibration because after I received 2 messages the vibration stopped once again. So now I'm baffled: is it because of the ROM, is it a glitch/bug from the motherboard or is the vibrator almost "dead"? If anyone had this issue and can help me fix the bug I would be really thankful. If I have to replace the vibrator, it wouldn't be a hard thing to do and I would do it if I know this will fix the problem forever.
My phone is S-OFF, rooted, with AcesMod007 ROM. Thank you.
I have installed CM10 | Jelly Bean 4.1.2 - v2.8 by vijendrahs and still no vibration, so it must be from the motherboard or the vibrator itself. I might try to replace it and see if this solves the problem.
No one has encountered this problem until now? No thoughts on this? I've searched for this bug and found some applications that should remove this bug, but they didn't work for me, so I am still open to any suggestion. I still have to wait up to 3 weeks until the vibrator arrives.
L.E.: I've just noticed another anomaly: my phone jumps from 82%-85% battery to full when I'm charging it. Might this have something to do with the vibrator? How can I fix this problem? Thanks.
Tried all kinds of applications that would force the vibrator, but with no success. I am still looking for a solution.
I have no guarantee so I have to fix it myself. I saw that other peoples with the same problem had sent the phone back to HTC for a replace. One of them actually stated that HTC had replaced first the motherboard (with no success) and then the vibrator module. I hope that replacing the vibrator would solve the problem.
I've solved the problem. I decided to open it up, thinking it is a hardware problem, and take a look at it. I've blended the two legs a bit more to make sure they get a perfect connection to the the motherboard and voila. It is working fully.
I've been running into a issue lately with my phone and my research has turned up nothing so I thought I'd post here. For some reason, every night my phone automatically turns on silence mode around the same time. Originally I thought it happened because of me accidentally hitting the volume buttons, but I have made it a point to make sure the the phone isn't in silence mode before putting it down and it still happens during the evening. It started happening after I upgraded Lollipop and after doing some research thought it happened due to the new interruption settings, but it still happens even after "Downtime Days" is set to "None".
I am running the stock ROM rooted. I have looked into the apps I use and none of them should be able to set the phone to silent automatically. I'm trying to fix this without doing a factory reset if only because I'm worried it won't fix the problem. If anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it.
i was using my zf2 as usual. suddenly it became unresponsive. i locked my phone and kept it in the pocket.
It started heating like never before. It went on restarting again and again, and battery level was plummeting.
i simply did nothing and switched it off.
Later i switched it on, and the home and the recent apps buttons were not working.
no sound could be heard,
no phone calls can be heard,
factory reset is unfunctional.
Please help as to what do i do?
Try to flash the stock rom if you can access recovery, there are a lot of guides around, if it does not work send it in for service.
The last two times I allowed my phone to charge fully, the phone locked up (would not come on when the power button was pressed) and I had to do a soft reset (hold the power button for 30 seconds). This happened on two different chargers with two different cables (one of which is the factory set). Thus, the issue is almost certainly not hardware related.
There have been no changes to my phone, no newly installed apps, etc. There have been a number of app updates, including several Google/Android core apps, and I am wondering if one of those could be the problem. (After the first time the phone locked, I updated the kernel to the latest version, i.e., PQ3A.190801.022. Note also that the phone is rooted with Magisk.)
Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, what did you do to resolve it? What can I do to try to figure out why this is happening?

Try replicating it in safe mode to rule out 3rd party apps.
I'm having the same issue the last 2 weeks. I haven't updated any apps and I have auto updates off. No changes to my phone since the end of august and it just started doing this.
Were you able to figure out what was causing it? My issues occur using a 5W Qi charger. So it is definitely not cable/charger related.
Sorry to report, but I have no idea. Since having posted my question, my phone has been behaving properly.
I've got the same issue on 10. I put my phone on a pixel stand at night and when I wake up I have to do a soft reboot to get the screen to turn on. Reverted back to Pie and the issue went away. Flashed the Oct factory image for 10 including wiping data and the issue returned. Booted into safe mode last night. Woke up this morning and had to force a reboot to get the screen to turn on.

Weird. I'm still on 9 that was working fine and no update that I know of.
I confirmed the issue with both QI charging and cable charging on my phone.
I've taken to making sure my phone is charged before bed and just pulling it off the charger before going to sleep. Since my phone is also my alarm and having it go unresponsive is no good. Only looses about 3% battery overnight.
Well, not sure what happened but the day before yesterday my phone did it's usual lock up while charging requiring a reboot. Unusually after reboot if I logged on too fast it would immediately shutdown. But for some reason this time it took me 7-8 tries to get in. I haven't updated any apps, changed any modules in Magisk or anything. It just went to almost boot looping.
As soon as I got it stable I popped into Magisk and looked at what modules were there. I noticed I had added Substratum previously, to try and do a dark theme, but apparently I never removed or disabled it. I disabled all the modules and suddenly no more problems. Reboots without shutting down after log in and no longer locking up on the charger.
I removed two audio mods (audio compatibility patch and audio modification library), as well as substratum. Three of 5 mods I had downloaded.
I am currently only have Active Edge Mod and V4A legacy FX for mods and my phone is now working fine. If it changes I'll let you guys know.
