Wake lock after charging phone - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

What gives?? Charging my phone always seems to trigger a wakelock upon unplugging. This is usually from a combination of Android OS and Android System.
As a result, I always have to reboot my phone after unplugging in order to avoid the wakelock killing my battery early.

Interesting. Maybe Dash Charge is the cause?

Think I had the same wakelock yesterday.
Does somebody have an idea what to do? Always reboot after charging isn't the best solution I think ?

Hey I personally do not have this anymore. I BELIEVE the solution for me was to turn off the Back up my data option in Settings > Backup & reset. Also cleared cache from the stock recovery upon turning that setting off.
It may have been something funky happening when I restored my Nexus 6 backup when initially setting up the OP3.

Thank you, will try it

Marshmallow Doze Feature?

Am I missing something? I thought the marshmallow update was supposed to come with doze feature. Is there no feature for our phones or do I need to factory reset my phone now after the update??
Sent from my SM-G925T using XDA-Developers mobile app
What is the "doze" feature?
The update nearly bricked my phone. I had to wipe cache and then use Smart Manager to delete useless files. For hours my phone was running very hot and kept rebooting every 5 minutes. Lots of reboots later, it fixed itself. I guess a 1.3GB update kept installing in the background or something, not sure.
It runs in the background...
Taking Control
Both the above systems work on their own when you use a device with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but you can meddle with things if you like. Doze is accessible in the settings under Battery > Overflow > Battery optimization. Here, you’ll see a list of apps that are exempt from Doze, which will probably just be Google Play Services and a few device-specific features. You can’t force these into Doze mode, but you can exempt other apps from Doze.
To disable Doze, use the drop-down at the top to switch over to the list of all apps. From there, you can pick any of them to exempt from Doze mode (Don’t optimize). You really only want to do this is an app isn’t working correctly in Doze. It could affect battery life negatively.

What do I do about cell standby? Never had the issue until after the update runs in background when idle at 53% or more.
Sent from my SM-G925T using XDA-Developers mobile app
Same here about the cell standby ,even with volte turned off is still there it take around 15% all the time of the battery and if the wifi is on it is more !

Have you done a factory reset to see if it helps with the cell standby issue? I'm thinking maybe that's what I should do as a final resort since wiping cache isn't really doing anything. I do agree WiFi seems to raise the cell standby even more. And now the android OS is also keeping the phone awake more so as well.

Huge Battery Issue

Hello, I bought my HTC 10 yesterday. As soon as I got it I unlocked bootloader and rooted the device. I flashed Viper ROM.
The issue is, my battery is draining at 1% every minute...
Anyone got a solution? I'm using Areoplane mode+Wifi at home. I have locations off and sync off ect.
Should I return this phone?
Don't return phone, figure out what is causing the drain. It is probably an app.

I'd say it's either a rogue app, or a Wi-Fi issue (as you have airplane mode activated.)
Have a look through the thread link below, and make sure it's not the wifi issue causing your battery drain.

Thank you. It seems the WIFI must be the problem, sadly most of that thread goes over my head. I will try and figure it out thanks for the help.
You should always run stock for a few days after getting a phone so you can see if it's a phone issue, a rom issue, or user issue. If you start installing roms the second you get the phone, it'll be extremely hard to find out if something was working right to begin with.
Perhaps flashing back stock will help narrow down the issue. If that doesn't work, factory resetting without app restore will narrow it down some more.
I do not have any issues with Wi-Fi draining on stock vzw.

Battery drain with marshmallow

Hi all. I have an sgh-i317m that I have tried a number of AOSP/CM13 ROMS. I get battery drain when connected to WiFi regardless of what ROM I try, with or without Gapps, location, or WiFi scanning,
I tried turning off wifi during sleep but the phone never gets to sleep.
Wondering if any one else has had this issue and solved it.
Thanks
Appears to me that an app is running in the background that is stopping the phone from going into sleep mode.
Maybe install a logging app?

It does this even before I install Gapps or any 3rd pay apps.
According to better battery stats, wlan_rx_ wake is causing a wake lock.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean by a screen dimmer or filter? CSV you clarify?
Thanks for the replies

Insane battery graphs consistently

I have been having these kinds of battery graphs since very long time. Using stock oos 4.0.3 without root and have locked bootloader.
I tried cleading data of google play & service' apps and even cleared cache from recovery. Disabled the hibernation feature in battery settings and enabled doze from developer options. This made no effect. So switched back to default settings again.

Phone doesn't doze' properly. It stays awake even when am not using it and drains battery a lot. I have seen phone getting warm several times even when it's just lying. SOT is very poor considering i have not changed my usage scenario and have given a lot of time for the OS to settle properly as well..
Here's another screenshot just after i woke up. Phone was chraged upto 98% when i went to sleep and it came down to 65%

Your phone is awake most of the time. Install BBS from its thread in XDA, learn how to produce idle logs in BBS and post one in the BBS thread.
Mind you, on Nougat, there is not much option for controlling alarms/wakelocks except using Greenify and MyAndroidTools. No Xposed and so no Amplify.

Did you turn on the aggressive doze option? I bet you have some app like Facebook keeping the phone awake. The other answer to grab BBB is a good idea

Yes i have enabled the aggressive doze and about the facebook draining, i think it is not from facebook because i rarely use it and it appears rarely in battery stats.
Here are some screenshots from BBS:
Custom one is when in the evening i had set the custom ref. after clearing all recent tasks. Check these if get something from these. I don't see any deep sleep stats any given time

You need to get an idle dump of at least 6 hours along with screenshots of the battery and battery history page of Settings. These screenshots are not going to help anyone to analyze your issue.
install logcat and see if it spams same error message over and over.

Extreme battery drain and heating

I can't figure out what is causing this but my phone is losing battery quickly and when I check battery setting it is some app or the other at the top of the battery consuming app-list. If I remove (uninstall) the top app from the phone, another takes it place. I removed 10 such apps and now it's WhatsApp and Chrome who are doing the honors. What is happening to my phone? As I type, the phone is heating considerably. I have just restarted it and only WhatsApp and XDA app is running in the background.
Edit: The heating and battery drain only happens when the screen is active. When the phone is locked, it no longer remains hot and battery drain also subsides.

Batter drain
Hi, since past few weeks my phone's battery is draining like anything. Strangely the built in app ContactsStorage is showing on top of the battery eating apps, can anyone please help me understand what this app is and why it is eating up battery the most. See the screenshot attached. Please help me with the solution.

Hi,
I am facing this issue too from last 2-3 days. Have used greenify to kill apps that seem to use battery but that has been of no help. I only keep my mobile data on and rest all - wifi, gps, auto brightness, screen rotate etc. are switched off. Still battery drain happening and phone is heating on normal usage (No games or heavy apps used - just messaging and whatsapp). I have also noticed that the fast charge is not really charging the phone as quickly as it used to earlier. If anyone finds a solution do post it here.
Not looking at a factory resetting the phone as I do not have the entire backup of my phone.

Any solution for this? Is factory reset really solving the issue. Any response would really be helpful.

Hi,
I never use auto-sync - its always off. Also, I have kept the resolution as FHD since beginning. However, facing this issue suddenly.

You should try a factory reset then.

You can try this alternative solution:
Go to settings > Apps > Hit the "Plus" or "more" dots button > Reset by default
It might help to fix and reset everything for each single app in terms of notifications, datas, permissions, specific actions linked to your apps.
Give it a try and let's see what happened for you guys, and it won't delete anything in your phone, no worries,
