So there I am, getting in my car in the morning, ready to drive to work, I turn it on, get ready to pull out
OH MY GOODNESS SOME TECHNO I HAD ON THE NIGHT BEFORE IS AUTO BLASTING OVER BLUETOOTH
Yeah, that's the "feature" of having bluetooth media autoplay. Besides turning off all bluetooth media features is there a way to prevent Winamp or whatever other stock media player is on the phone from blasting away as soon as it connects?
(Rooted, Cyanogen 7)
Did you try clearing defaults for the applications in the applications menu?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
No defaults set for Winamp or any other music application that I can find.
It's just when the Bluetooth connects it starts to play. Mine does it with Cyanogen, wife's phone does it with the stock Sprint Sense rom.
So I guess this is just one of those feature/bugs of Android that has no fix?
My dual BT headset turns on the stock HTC player whilst playing threw Winamp. It does this when I press play after a paused interruption. I'm using misfits speedy Rom and it happens to me. I can't set a default player either. Well i tried.

Has anyone solved this problem. It is rather annoying. I don't want to have to remove all the mp3's from my phone just to stop it from doing this.
I like to use Pandora for my radio, but everytime I turn on my car I have to take the time to tell the music player to knock it off...

Hi there. First off I'm wondering if anyone else sees this as a problem. I have Bluetooth stereo headphones with A2DP (pause/play, next, previous buttons). When I leave my house I tend to grab my headphones, throw them around my head and switch them on. Unless a music player (like the stock Google one) is already running in the background, pressing play on the headphones doesn't do anything until I actually open a music player app. This is rather frustrating especially if I've got gloves on already or if I've thrown my Note II into my pack.
Is there anything I can do to basically make sure that a music player is already running or will start up on and A2DP connection and/or A2DP button press? I've searched for music player apps that simply stay backgrounded but haven't found anything that actually works. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Have you tried poweramp music app? Its always work for me when I push play button on my lg bluetooth headset. I don't use stock music app.
I listen to music via Bluetooth streaming in my car using the factory MUSIC app. I'd like to be able to get into the car, turn on the BT streaming mode on my car audio and automatically begin playing music. However, the factory task manager automatically closes the MUSIC app after I get out of the car and I have to load it manually each time.
Being that everyone recommends that with KitKat one shouldn't install a task killer/manager other than what's from the factory....how can this be done?
Is there any way to put the music on an exclusion list?
Thanks in advance.
If understand correctly, you want the music to continue playing on your phone's speaker when disconnected from your car audio?

negative, the music will pause automatically when the music app detects a break in bluetooth connection when I turn off the car. What I need is for the MUSIC app itself to continue running in the background (it's not a big resource or battery hog) for when I get into my car for a seamless transition back to playing music.... because once the phone shuts down the app I need to load it again...a PITA.
Thanks.

It will continue running in the background, this isn't really a task killer problem but more of an app thing.. For example, I use play music and it resumes playing once I connect to Bluetooth again even if I kill it myself.. I would check the settings if you haven't already and see if there's is a setting for it, I've seen other apps with settings like that, but don't know about the stock music app
it is not in fact running in the background. No such option in setting either. Anyone know of any app that could make it be ignored by the default task manager?
You can do it with xposed if interested
The head unit in your car may have something to do with it.
Factory? Aftermarket?
I have a Kenwood w/7in touch screen and if my BT on phone is enabled as soon as the Kenwood starts up whatever app was running before will start playing automatically, Samsung music app, Amazon music app..
If Milk music or Pandora I have to launch app.
Pp.
there are a few apps on the market with that name.... also do I need root access? As far as the head unit it's a factory stereo Infiniti q50

It's not on the market and you need root access.. If you are interested do a quick search for xposed on Google and go to the one here on XDA, read about it on the thread and how to use it, install it, open it, and search for a module called app settings, in there you have an option to always keep in memory for whatever app you want so just select stock player. Keeping the music player running may not even be the solution, but it is a possibility.. As the previous poster stated, there are apps that just lack autoplay feature.. It is also possible that some other music app or app that uses Bluetooth may conflict with it, preventing it from auto playing
Since the new March update, my Bluetooth does not work when my screen is off. Help!
To elaborate, my phone and radio connect. When I want to skip a song, I have to wake the device. This was not the case in the previous version. I have it as a trusted devise and tried to disable dose in many combinations without any success. Any ideas?
When you turn on the device is it on the current app that's playing music? I noticed if I go to another app/homescreen I can shut off the screen with the music still playing.
I'm not looking to shut it off, I want to be able to drive and skip songs via my radio skip feature. It doesn't matter if it's the open app or not, it does not respond if the screen is off
I have an update and solution to my previous message about my Bluetooth not allowing my car radio to play via Bluetooth. I found the problem. For some reason, if my phone shuts off without a lock screen, it shuts off my Bluetooth from changing or pausing music. The song will play, but I will have no ability to make any changes. The solution is to only allow the phone to turn off with a lock screen on so that any time my phone turns off whether I push to lock or it times outs the lock screen will show up and as long as the lock screen is on my Bluetooth works. I don't know why this is the case but I least found a workaround.
I was losing my mind trying to chase down this exact same issue, but setting it to lock as you did seems to have resolved it. Thanks!
Thanks! I was going crazy trying to sort this for my girlfriends 6P and had a hint it was lockscreen related as it seemed to work if you turned the screen off manually (which goes to lock immediately, rather than the 10 minute delay she was using)
Thanks for confirming and that it isn't a one off issue with her device, this is definitely a bug Google need to fix!

Hello Agouracaguy, I'm facing a similar problem with my LG G4 connected with my JBL Horizon speaker, I wonder if you could help me solve this problem:
I'm trying to use my bluetooth speaker to play my Spotify for alarm. The problem is that when I set the alarm for less than one hour, for example, the alarm plays my spotify perfectly. The big problem is that I want to set the alarm at night to play in the next morning and when the alarm is set for a long period like this, my LG G4 simple doesn't play the spotify which makes my JBL to sound the beep alarm instead of the spotify.
When it happens I've noticed that when I turn my G4's screen on it starts playing the spotify. I've already added my JBL as a trusted device, I've already left my phone unlocked but none of theses made no difference.
I've tested my JBL with other phone, a Zenfone, and no matter for how long the alarm was set, it was able to play spotify flawless.
Do you have any idea how I could solve this?
Hi there,
i have the following situation with my RNP8. When i am connected to my car via Bluetooth, and listen to apple music or spotify, as long as the display is "on" everything is fine. But when my display go to sleep or when i lock it, i got those constant lags in the connection, which it makes impossible to listen to music. when i unlock the screen everything works fine again...At first i thought it was something in the energy plan, but figured out nothing so far.. I have the global version of the pro 8. Bootloader still locked . Would be grateful if somebody can help me here.
Are they locally downloaded files (ie. offline download in Spotify), or are you streaming? If the latter then maybe your screen off is also turning off data due to some setting?
Hi Jackson,
streaming apple music or spotify. But also tried it with some downloaded stuff in apple music. Same situation. It is weird, try to figure out what it is, i know from the past the Miui Energy plan had made lot of trouble...but could not figure out what is the problem now.
Same issue here with MiBand 3.
Band looses connection when screen is locked, kinda of bummer because I like the notifications on the band.
