Wished for stock rooted ROM 4 Verizon Note 4 retail nail Dev converted. - Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can someone point me to a rooted stock ROM for lollipop or better yet marshmallow for the Note 4 with the retail to Dev conversion? I did have the retail converted it to dev using dr.cool's very well written post.now I have some emotion nightly ROM. My dream is to have a fully functional rooted marshmallow ROM. If such thing exists and can be flashed via Odin, adb, Twrp or any other method with the tutorial for dummies please point me to that ROM for download. Thank you in advance. By the way this is the smn910v Qualcomm processor. Alternatively I would like to get the ROM for lollipop 5.1.1 that is rooted or either or of them they can't be read it on the day of or either or of them if they can be rooted on this now DE ed phone that previously was a Verizon retail. I have looked at Chainfire Auto roots and somehow they do not seem to be sufficient in size to be a complete OS. I'm sure my naivety disallowed me to understand the process completely but every time I've tried to use the CF auto root I seem to come up short of enough components for a full operating system. I do not know where to get the CF root ROMs that I have heard spoken of but I have seen the CF auto root and yet that's far I have not been able to use any of those effectively. So to be clear if anyone can help me to understand and learn where are not it is possible to get a stock ROM and lollipop 5-1 1 or marshmallow 6x and either rooted or find a pre rooted stock ROM with either of these to get a stock wrong and lollipop 511 or marshmallow sick six and either route it or find a prayer it stock ROM with either these biulds, I would be grateful for the knowledge. I know the concept here is to search and read but quite honestly my low IQ and poor reading comprehension skills disallows need to find any valuable help in my quest. So I reach out and asking one that would 2 please teach me and/or point me in the right direction.
Thank you in advance for your kind anticipated responses.

Here for a friend

Hello again,
its been over four years since i was here last. had an HTC hero that came with 1.5 (those were the days). moved on to iphones but anyways.
Have a co-worker who is middle eastern and doesn't quite have a grasp on our language or all this rooting stuff so I came here to ask for him.
He has the acro S, build 6.2.b.1.96 (i think i wrote it right) and I believe its on 4.1.2; he is looking for an an official/unofficial kitkat rom. does such a thing exist, i have browsed this site and all I see are custom ROMs (that's the norm) but he is convinced by rooting and loading a custom ROM that puts him at risk for some malicious files being added to his device by the creator of the ROM. he can't be convinced otherwise.
Also, if there is no stock kitkat rom that he can load, what is the next newest rom he can load ?
sorry for the ramble, thanks for the help, and if theres an easier way to root like a one-click job, id appreciate the insight.

No such thing im afriad. I make a few of the different ROMs here and if your friend is paranoid about people messing with the ROM and adding things that they shouldnt im afraid he has to stick with the 4.1.2 official version as that is the latest.
This also needs to be moved to the general section as it isnt a development thread.
He is on the latest stock ROM which Sony can provide.
If you want an one-click way, you can find some software do this. Otherwise here you can fellow:
1. Unlock your devices first. ( I think it's not unlock) ( https://sites.google.com/site/projectfreexperia/download/bootloader-unlock )
2. Find a 4.1.2 root kernel here.
3. Fastboot flash boot kernel_xxx.elf
Then I think it's OK.

[Q] New Tab S 10.5 Wifi Only 16gb Owner...Old Android Nut LF Recommended Recovery

I've been around the block...it seems my last runs have all included devices that required safestrap (kill me). I'm wondering what the recommended method for root and recovery is.
So far all 8 verify seen is the CF autoroot port and the unified toolkit. I've had bad experiences in the past with UTK s. Can anyone tell me if it will root and offer to install recovery? And will it be successfull?
Just as well...8 or 10 models sharing a xda section? Also new...I've been looking for a few hours and I can't seem to find the idiosyncrasies. Can someone point me in the right direction? I.E. Do all the devices shares roms? Do all non wifis share roms? What's the best stock-based rom for the 10.5 wifi only 16gb device right now and what's the best non stock based rom In your opinion.
Sorry if I havennot found my way around yet. I consider myself a veteran and soon I'll be caught up to speed and participating and helping out.

New owner seeking advice

Hello everyone:
I am a new (used) Galaxy Note 3 owner. I bought an LG G2 3 weeks or so ago, spent that 3 weeks studying, rooting, installing recovery and finally installing and tweaking Cloudy G2 ROM. Just as I got my G2 running flawlessly it slipped from my shirt pocket as I was grilling, bounced off the grill and landed face down on the car port thus smashing the screen to pieces. :crying: What a waste of time installing that cheap screen protector the previous evening.
Anyway, I found a great deal on a used Note 3 so I went ahead and bought that rather than another G2. So now, I need to update my Note 3 just like I did the G2. Since I am running short on time at the moment I just want to get some ideas on where to start. I do intend to read everything I can on XDA but some helpful tips would really assist me with getting this finished sooner rather than later.
So....Right now the phone has stock 4.4.2 loaded and the knox counter is not tripped.
Baseband version is:N900TUVUCNB4
Security Software Version is:MDF v1.0 Release 2.
I am not at all familiar with this security stuff so any tips here on what exactly this is would be most appreciated.
My goal is:
1. root the device
2. install recovery prefer twrp but cwm will do if necessary
3. install a good ROM (Preferably Lollipop based ROM)
4. I would like to have xPosed Framework support too if possible. Of course this depends on the ROM I presume.
I have heard that Samsung Note 3 is a real bear to root. Also that the Odin software can be dangerous. I have no idea if this is true or not so please help me here.
I was also wondering whether it would be best to root the phone while on KitKat, or upgrade to stock lollipop first and then start the root/recovery process.
I'd really really appreciate all the help I can get from anyone that has owned a note 3 and has already been all through this process.
Thanks...Olin
Oh well, no replies? Man this Samsung device is rather overwhelming what with all the various scenarios. I am thinking of going with temasek's Unofficial CM12.1, or DOMPOP, or maybe Darklord. But I am still completely unsure whether to upgrade to stock Lollipop before I start on the root/recovery/ROM project. I also need to read everything I can find on these 3 roms.
But please, if you have any comments on which of these 3 ROMS is the best for the note 3 and/or comments on the best root/recovery method then by all means point me in the right direction.
Thanks so much for any help at all.
people just aren't as helpful around here as they used to be. Either that or not many use the note 3 anymore. But nevermind I figured it out anyway as I knew I eventually would.

Hey Beegbear:
I have decided to stay with KitKat for now because of the fact you can't use the xPosed framework on Lollipop and the fact KitKat is just a more stable platform and has many more Roms available. I used this page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2765014
to get my Note 3 on the newest stock KitKat rom, then root it, then install the latest TWRP recovery. I carefully followed the exact steps in this guide except that I did use a newer TWRP recovery I downloaded from: https://dl.twrp.me/hltetmo/twrp-2.8.7.0-hltetmo-4.4.img.tar
Other than using this newer TWRP I went step by step through this guide. I still plan on installing a custom KitKat rom but right now I am researching various roms to try and decide which one. But at least I have latest stock, root, and a good recovery right now.
I'd start with Tweaked. A flawless TW KK ROM. Only if unsatisfied would I bother with LP. Apparently the developer is working on an LP variant, but we'll see. He releases long after others, due to commitments, but well worth the wait. There is an xposed for LP available, but carefully research what modules work with it and compare to what you want.

Thanks a lot. You caught me just before I was about to install Hyperdrive N3 RLS7.1. I'd like to ask you what you think of this ROM?
And as for tweaked, I have come across two possible versions of a "tweaked" ROM. Tweaked ROM [Material L Theme] and TweakedN3 v3.x. Are these actually the same ROM? I'm looking around but still am not sure on this.
Thanks for your reply.
Olin
Well I "think" I have it figured out and I am in fact going to go with the Tweaked ROM, basic install procedure. Thanks so much for your advice ytj87 - I would have installed that other ROM if I had not seen your post. I may do that down the road anyway but I intend to give Tweaked a thorough test before I do. It looks great and based on forum info it seems less buggy than most of the other roms I researched.
Olin
Will probably come down to the experience you want. Tweaked is more stock with an emphasis on stability. I haven't used Hyperdrive, but when you see a ROM like that which integrates something other than the Note 3 TW UI, you're more likely to see glitches. It's the same NF9 base, though, and it has been around a while, and it looks interesting, so at some point give it a shot if curious. I personally prefer the Note 3 original UI to the S5's, so I probably won't try it.
TweakedN3 3.95. The LP themed one I haven't used.

Out of it for a year, now I'm looking for advice and opinions.

I got this SM-P600 last year for my birthday, I shortly rooted it then installed a ROM and went on my merry way.
There have always been a couple nagging issues with the rom, infrequent random restarting and blanking out my lockscreen and homescreen wallpapers.
Its on the ND2 bootloader but the "fingerprint" says NH3 release-keys, so NH3 firmware I assume.
It is rooted, twrp 2.5 or 2.6 I think.
I just want to get the firmware updated and install a stable rom on it since the restarting and wiping away wallpaper is really getting on my nerves lately.
I have been out of the tweaking and modding environment for almost a year now and I don't know where to pick up again.
So I am looking for advice and opinions.
I need to find a firmware only page, or a way to update the firmware easily, or am I missing something here?
I'd like to hear about a couple roms people out there are using, why you use it and how long?
I'd like to know if I need to have the bootloader and firmware be the same version and if that might be why I am having issues.
Can anyone point me to the right place?
Hmm, I only root and run stock roms with some minor housekeeping, so cannot help you with your ROM issues. I would imagine though that anybody who could will need to know WHAT ROM you installed.
In the meantime, the best thread I know of for you to gather information is the one at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2723420 ... Its an ALL-IN-ONE thread for the Note 10.1 (2014 edition). Please not though that the forum rules stipulate it is only for information sharing, not for questions, so you may want to visit there, catch up as best you can and then come back here with more specific questions...
Is there any reason you don't want to use stock? I ask because based on what you are saying, it doesn't appear that you chose a custom ROM with any particular intentions, but rather because ... well, apparently custom is awesome If you don't need anything particular, you will be much better off just running a rooted stock with some debloating to keep things spiffy. As of now, I believe the P600 is still on 4.4.4, for which root should be available. The LTE versions started receiving 5.1.1 updates last week and while it is quite awesome to run the latest lollipop, no root as of yet.
Cheers,
Karthik

New AT&T note 5

Not sure about this post and apologize in advance if its not appropriate for the forum, but i've read thru the forums and was looking for some people's opinion. I just received a new Note 5 (n920a) that i unlocked to use with T-Mobile. Since its new it hasn't been updated so it has the original Android 5.1.1. I'm aware of the tethered root and coming from an Xperia Z2, def not a fan of the bloatware and touchwiz UI. Just have some questions and was wondering what everyones opinion is (i know everyone says its all down to your own personal preference)
- I would like to update to Nougat and if i do would i still be able to tether root or does that require 'downgrading' back down to 5.1.1
- From everyones experience and their knowledge, what steps would you do with a fresh new note 5 that came with the 5.1.1?

Once you update to Nougat you CANNOT downgrade back to 5.1.1 if you even want root I'd suggest you not update the phone period in hopes that a full root will come around instead of tether root.. There's no root for Nougat anyway. I would seriously stay where you are so when FULL roots achieved you'll be able to use Chainfire's Flashfire to update to Nougat keeping your root access!
