Hi people, im having a little issue with widgetlocker on my samsung, when im at work and the phone is in my shorts the power button easily gets pressed, and that will trigger the unlock screen, and then if the power button is still pressed it will shut off my phone, so is there any way to disable that? Or select a new key to get to the unlock screen?

There is an option in the widget locker settings that allows you to disable this.
Open WidgetLocker, hit the menu key and scroll through the settings. you should see it

Hi i allready had that unchecked, my main issue is that the power button is able to shutdown the phone while im on the lockscreen
The latest OOS update 3.2.8 disabled double pressing power button to open camera feature which is my (probably everyone's) favorite feature. It is now replaced with triple pressing the power button to call Emergency services. But the camera shortcut is very useful. I request devs to create an Xposed module to bring back the feature.
Hi,
I have the 3.2.8 and the double press power is work for me.

It has been disabled for Indian users as our government has made it mandatory for every smartphone to have a physical emergency button
Why don't use the other option gesture to open the camera?

Instead of abusing the power button often with that double press to open camera you better use the gesture option instead
Can anyone who is not in India confirm that Double pressing the power button still launches the Camera in 3.2.8?
I've tried the O gesture but I find it to be inconsistent. :crying:
I totally agree that the double press power to launch is the dogs. I may stay on 3.2.7 if its lost in 3.2.8. :silly:

ok thanks
I come from htc m9 where lock/unlock screen was pretty straightforward. double tap to unlock and navbar shortcut for screen off
here we have power key, ambient display, fingerprint, double tap (with EXkernel) for screen on
and navbar shortcut, fingerprint gestures, power key for screen off......
wow. so much choice...too bad that these methods override sometimes, like double tap is useless with ambient display, and fingerprint makes all of it no-sense....
How do you play with it?
Screen on: ambient display (only enabled for notifications) or fingerprint
Screen off: Nova launcher shortcut, power button sometimes
Screen on: power button
Screen off: double tap statusbar (anywhere)
Simple.
ON - fingerprint, power button
OFF - power button
wow there are people who still use power button hahaha
On: fingerprint or swipe up
Off: double tap

Of course, your phone needs to be rooted!

Same. Don't like active touchscreen for this function. I like to carry my phone by holding it front and back side. Also sometimes I press the edges accidentally when I do something else.

Your surprise (and apparent disdain?) toward people using the device as designed is confusing to me.
Did you honestly believe that *ALL* 5X owners would fear that the physical power button would break from normal usage?
Screen on: Fingerprint sensor
Screen off: Sweep2Sleep gesture. Available in various custom kernels

on: fingerprint or power button
off: greenfy hibernate widget button
Screen on: fingerprint or double tap to wake in EXKM
Screen off: double tap on navbar
On: fingerprint
Off: power button (it's there, it works and i don't have to have a special feature to use it)
Screen on, swipe up
Screen off, tap invisible power button in far upper right hand side of status bar. Tap closes screen, long press brings up the power button menu.
If on stock 7.1.1, flash this to get it. Full systemui tuner included (Navbar adjustment and brightness bar removal)

well, we can live without buttons now, since they have a lifespan touch/accelerometer methods should be preferred by anyone who cares about his phone...
I don't use any since 2011, once you get used to alternative methods...you can't go back

I owned Galaxy S1, Galaxy S2, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, OPO1 (supports DT2W), and now N5X.
I have never experienced a faulty power button.

Hello! I've just installed LOS 15.1 on my S9+ and while everything seems to be working just fine, the hard press home button can turn on the screen if the phone is locked but I cannot use it as an actual home button. Is there a setting for this that I'm just not finding?
Settings - system - buttons

That's the first place I looked, there's no option for that. After unlocking the phone, the hard press button simply doesn't work anymore.

Did you find a solution?
Is there a way to do this? As there is no home button to press and hold with full screen gesture on

Just swipe and hold the home gesture.
