What all am I risking doing an internal storage wipe? I know whatever pictures and passwords will be gone but what else? haven't done that with a phone that had root and unlocked bootloader.

You will lose all your data. It wipes it clean.

If you're unlocked and rooted, that will not effect it. Only data.

No. Wiping internal storage has nothing to do with bootloaders or root.
It's a good idea to do so after unlocking a bootloader. Whether or not there are cooties from Kingroot/Kingoroot left, it made me feel better to format internal storage after the unlocking process.
It's probably best to do this in conjunction with flashing a ROM.
OK thanks for the responses back. I jumped on the band wagon when we first got the bootloader unlock method. And have been flashing back and forth between ROMs and its just been piling up unneeded data

My note 3 is currently rooted (with no recovery only the stock one) and it is on the stock rom. I want to start fresh in my note 3 again. Should I just do a factory reset from settings? Or would I have to odin the origin stock firmware?
Also would I have to root again if I did either of these? What do you recommend?

Should I odin to stock if I still want root?
Would it be better than just factory resetting? If I odin to stock and root again will it raise my knox counter again?

No the knox counter can't go past 0x1... Go to backup and reset in settings and do a factory data reset from there and it will erase everything including the internal memory card. ..That will bring you back to stock...

Ok so just do that and don't worry about odin to stock that wouldn't have any advantages would it?
I did disable and freeze some apps.

The apps you froze will be unfrozen. ..You take a risk evertime you odin of bricking your phone and you wear down the internal memory with every flash. ..so I don't see the benefits. ..

If bootloader only, nope. you won't lose them.
You already know what bootloader you're going to install?

MJ5 is a good choice since you can install 4.1.2, 4.3, or 4.4.2 roms.
But for KK roms, offline charging is not working.
Goodluck.

Backing up with recovery will backup allllll of the data from that ROM. It might cause some things to force close in the older version ROM but then again it may not. It will also put unneed data onto your phone if the app isnt installed

To search for what? And you dont need to take the SD card out. Just make sure the "wipe the SD card" is not checked when you go to wipe

Okay if i go 100% to stock 4.2.2 the version my phone came with from Verizon can i remove root and take OTA update and stay s-off/unlocked or will the OTA re-lock/s-on or no ive heard mixed answers about this thank you for any help.
Currently our OTA updates will not reset the lock status or secure flag. You must be completely stock though. If you have one thing modified in system, you will have update issues.

I dont have any NANDROID backup, is it safe to flash 4.4.4 factory images on my Nexus without wipe knowing that it came from 5.0.1?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Free mobile app
Yes45. This is one of the main reasons to buy a Nexus.
Edit: create a backup of your apps and data using Titanium Backup now so you can restore them after you flash 4.4.4.
Wouldn't that create errors due to the different runtimes?

No because your device is wiped upon flashing 4.4.4.
The only way to flash it is to wipe. If you don't wipe, it'll give errors.
Oh thanks for the wipe. The apps installed while in Lollipop that were backed up using TBP will be able to use in KK wont give errors?
