Marshmallow OTA Loaded With Bugs - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note5

After months of waiting for AT&T to update our $700 phones, the update is quite buggy. Are there fixes out for the various problems with Marshmallow?
1. WIFI connectivity comes and goes. It is difficult to overstate the seriousness of connectivity bugs for power users on a phone with no removable media. My WIFI connects to a network (usually, but not always) but it won't stay connected long. It will drop out and reconnect seemingly when it so chooses. It does seem to work to force a reconnect by cycling WIFI on and off. This bug is horrible.
2. Battery drain is not something I've complained about on this phone til now. If I don't KEEP my phone in ultra battery conservation mode, with regular use the battery lasts a couple of hours TOPS.
3. Mobile data connectivity is now buggy as well. Like the WIFI, it comes and goes. Though it is more consistent than the WIFI.
4. Facebook disconnects constantly. I don't know if this is only because of the mobile data and WIFI connectivity issues or if it is a specific app problem with Marshmallow as well as the WIFI/network issue.
What bugs are you all seeing and are there fixes available?

I agree with 1 and 3. Way to many times to reboot. I like the one that was snuck out from underneath them.

Yes, most of us wiped multiple times. This update is garbage. I was the one who told many to do a reset or clear cache on the sideload. That fixed all issues on PE5, the PE6 OTA is the worst update I have seen from any company ever. I have all of the mentioned issues with wifi, screen staying on, and EXTREME battery drain. This must be a joke and AT&T is probably laughing at us all.

Sorry to hear that playa ..I took the ota.. and I've had no issues at all..actually.. It's 10x better

Check out these stats

I took the OTA as well and it has been awesome! No problems at all and everything is much better than when I was on Lollipop.

There both the same but I'm running sideload

Sorry to hear about your problems. PE6 on mine via sideload with full factory defaults so not sure if you will accept this as a comparison. Did a full backup and restore with Samsung Smart Switch to try and maintain as much as my previous apps/config as possible. However, since upgrading, my phone has been very stable and battery life has increased quite a bit. Old firmware, battery would be 36%-ish by end of day and with PE6 seeing it at 56%-ish now so very happy there. As for the data connectivity issue, my wifi has been very solid and mobile data connectivity has been solid as well but didn't have an issue on lolli either. I don't do Facebook so nothing to compare there. Over all, I am very happy with the upgrade.

Received as OTA, cannot detect any problems the OP is having on my own device.
Was having a small issue with Wifi turning itself off once upon reboot after installing Good Lock, but it doesn't seem to be doing that any longer. Battery was a bit unwell after OTA and setup but has settled to 0.5%/hr resting drain now.
Looking good to me.

I took the Ota. Only bug I've found is settings crash when selecting theme from the android settings.

And I thought my device was the problem....I'm having same issues with wifi and data signal after mm ota so I called for replacement through warranty will see how it works out.

The only observation I have after the OTA update on my is #3 the battery. MM seems to drain a battery a little quicker, but at the same time my Note 5 is much snappier and more enjoyable to use. I decided to installed PD 6.x per some users here suggested. That took care of the battery. Other than that, I don't see any other issues OP mentioned.

I had a bad android system battery drain... used ABD to do a batterystats dump and discovered it was Google Backup causing a major wakelock all day long. Every single day since updating... I disabled Google Backup in the Backup and Reset menu in settings... rebooted into recovery mode... cleared Cache... rebooted again... battery life has been almost double since.

Have you even bothered to troubleshoot your own issue? Obviously since wifi works fine for almost everyone including me it's something with your setup. What do you have your wifi sleep mode set to? Try changing your frequency mode to just 2.4. Have you tried any different networks?

It's a known bug to some. I had a thread about this issue I believe. It had left for a few builds and then reappeared to some on the FI25 build. At one point we narrowed it down to a certain routers but no real evidence. It doesn't matter what your settings are in, even if you keep your settings on "keep awake always". The WiFi just stays as if connected but really isn't. It'll show greyed out bars or not active. I gave up and ignore it.
Laughing at some of you comments here. YES, I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING. Different routers, all kinds of wifi settings, even used a root explorer to change some wifi settings. Still issues. I am ignoring it now and was hoping for a fix and it's pissing me off. Looks like it may be a hardware issue on some phones

What exactly should I be looking for in my router settings? Btw, wifi still disconnects on Parandroid JB...wtf. Everything worked fine on GB.
I still have the issue where wifi just sucks down my battery worse than 3G when it idles, but the phone gets plenty of deep sleep. It's happened across roms, fresh wipes and only on ICS and never on any gingerbread setups I've used. I've tried 3 different routers, on different frequencies. I've spent countless hours combing through battery and cpu monitors. My final verdict is that ICS was for the most part a total **** show for this phone, and it's only usable because of the selfless devs who devote their free time to tweaks and builds that get the best they can out of it.
Sorry op, but in my anecdotal example, there is no answer for particular wifi problems on ICS with this phone.

What channel and encryption type are you using (for your main connection)? Also what brands of routers have you tried it on. I don't think it is you, but I am just curious.
I use to use Linksys routers, but the last 2 I had were turds different models, and sent them in for RMA to verify the unit wasn't just a bad unit, now I won't use ANY Cisco product unless I have to (after the routers overheating in the middle of winter in my basement with proper ventilation and sending them back a few times, and their new 'secure' firmware that only allows you to connect via their website back into my local router).
lol don't listen to these people telling you to check the router settings...
It is a bug in ICS (most roms i have tried), i suggest downloading an app called Wi-fi keep alive.

[Q] NK3 Update Issue

Has anyone had problems or noticed a lack of signal after applying this update? Before this, I almost always had full bars and very speedy (27 Mbps avg) 4G Lte until I installed the build AUCU1BNK3 and now I only get 2 to 3 bars constantly dropping to 2. Plus when I go into additional settings for phone calls I get a SIM card error message. Additionally it has been dropping back more often to 4G and sometimes it even glances at Edge. I did not have this situation before. Could they have done something to slow it down cause web pages loaded fast before and now they load noticiably slower?
My whole phone seems f'ed since the update. Email Facebook.....
I have this issue too. I disabled HD Voice under networks and noticed an improvement.

Also having major wifi speed issues and the same issues with the network switching to edge since the update. I've contacted ATT twice today and they completely disregard this update as being the issue. I think I'm going to take my stuff to t-mobile and just switch
---------- Post added at 06:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:18 PM ----------
Helen Keller: Since we are able to determine thatHD voise has no impact on your wifi network, replacement of the device will only result in getting the same model with the same 4..4.4 update is not an option. We need to do more troubleshooting and this could result in have the device tested at our Device Support Ctr.
I do see that I'm not the only one with the Sim card error. This has caused me a big problem as my gear s is not getting my calls forwarded.
I had the same problem. Did some research and found that other people with different Samsung device's had same problem. They said to clear cache and data for the phone app. Worked for me as far as gear s forwarding calls again.

I've been noticing wifi issues in certain apps, but not on the mobile network in those same apps. As to the loss of the network signal strength after the update. I haven't seen any changes in the bars.

Verizon - dropping wifi and really bad battery life

Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this or not.... But I am experiencing two major problems with my phone:
1) It periodically just drops wifi. I have great signal strength and none of my other devices (and I have a lot) ever behave this way. And I have seen it happen on other wifi spots as well.
2) This one is even worse. I am not able to get more than about 9-10 hours on a charge. Not using the phone *at all*. When I checked what was using the battery power all I saw was normal google stuff, no app itself directly consuming
Mine is a brand new verizon phone.
anyone else experience these? Worth seeing if I can get verizon (or LG) to replace the phone?

Application Manager. Scroll over to "ALL" tab. Click on the individual apps. It should have the option to Disable near the top. Those apps will be moved to the Disabled tab if you should ever want to enable them in the future.
I always factory reset after leaving a store because their first priority is to get the phone into a usable state and they bypass the Google login to start syncing my information.
The first thing I install is Nova Launcher. To disable Apps, I just click and drag to the desktop for "system info" then uncheck "Show Notification", click "Force Stop", then "Disable".
I just clear out the crap out the App launcher. I haven't gone in through Settings > App Manager and disabled any services or background apps.
I've also had (and still have WiFi issues). Just got my phone replaced today from T-Mobile and my WiFi has intermittently cut out a couple times today already. Perhaps its something that will require a software update to fix.

If I'm understanding the articles, it is an app so carriers can install Bloatware after your purchase. Even after a factory reset. The good, the bloatware doesn't have to be installed and part of the factory ROM. The bad, everything else...
According to a post on Reddit, the small update on ATT was to fix 5ghz Wi-Fi issues. Hopefully all carriers push it.

On VZW I do not have any issue with WiFi, I do however have not so great battery life. I did disable all the useless items I can. I get about 9-10 hours with 1-1.5 hours SOT. Guess it's OK, but would have liked to get more of what others are reporting (3+ hours SOT).
Coming from the G3 on 23C, I did notice that my battery time did drop a bit, so it's not far off of what I had, not going to return the device, just going to deal with it for now.

On second thought, I updated all the apps yesterday (for first time since I got the phone, even though I installed system updates as soon as I booted it) and last night was the first time i noticed that it had dropped Wifi signal. I am hazarding a wild guess but it's due to some system app bug that was introduced in some recent update. Hopefully it'll soon be rectified.

Make sure that WiFi is allowed to be on during sleep in the WiFi settings.
Also recommend using ASUS ZenUI app called ASUS Support. There are several helpful tips with basic troubleshooting techniques for your device which includes WiFi troubleshooting.
If still not resolved, recommend performing a hardware reset including wipe cache partition. For hardware reset/wipe cache partition instructions please see the following: http://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1011956/

Hey All was just update to 24.31.22. I think I am in a beta group. Anyhow Wifi calling is now part of the Droid 2 along with unspecified security and bug fixes..
Cool. Looking forward to it. Still just 6.0? Or 6.0.1?
Is there a new modem to go with the update? My biggest complaint ATM with my Turbo 2 is random hang-ups with the radio where nothing wants to load, or random stutters in audio when streaming music.

Update installed ok for me, up to the Sept patches and 6.0.1 as mentioned. I can't get WiFi calling to enable yet.
Edit: I had to re-enable the disabled Verizon apps I shut down when I "debloated" the phone to get the WiFi set up to work. I read you just need Verizon Login but that didn't work so I turned everything back on, set it up and disabled them again. Just a tip if you disabled apps.
Update installed fine here as well. I don't care about it too much ATM though because my Nexus 6 just got 7.0.0

Anything happen if you tell the phone to check for updates under Settings, System Updates?
The radio issues that I was hoping were fixed are still there. Random times where there is no network connectivity despite having a decent 4G signal. I've also had times where I just randomly loose 4G and go back to 3G for a short period for no reason, then 4G just magically comes back. Never had the same issues with my Nexus 6, so I know it is a phone issue. Wife has the T2 as well, and she has random network issues as well.
I have noticed with mine yesterday that it wouldn't send a text while it had good 4g service a few times. A reboot fixed it. Only issue, besides battery life not being as good as I feel a phone like this should be, is when I am in my car either playing a podcast/music over Bluetooth and I pull into my driveway and connect to my wifi network my Bluetooth disconnects from my car and then after like 20 seconds reconnects. Not a huge issue. Just annoying. It's happened since the original marshmallow install though and FDR doesn't fix it.

Hey All was just update to 24.31.22. I think I am in a beta group. Anyhow Wifi calling is now part of the Droid 2 along with unspecified security and bug fixes..

I got the update like a week before my wives phone. It's that that called a soak test?
I finally got the update today. But then again I have found OTA updates very inconsistent.
Not sure if it's because my Turbo 2 knows that it's getting replaced or what, but I've had several radio related issues over the past 2-3 days. Loosing network connectivity, slow connectivity, bluetooth skips, etc. Issues I've never expected to have from a Motorola device. Thankfully my backup Motorola phone, the Nexus 6 works fine without these issues. Just need to hold myself over until my Pixel XL shows up.
I have had some weird issues after the update also. I took the update and could not get Wi-Fi calling to work. So Verizon told me to factory reset the phone. Now my Wi-Fi calling is enabled however the call Quality is poor with or without HD voice, and everytime I reboot my phone it boots to the AP fastboot screen. Then I have to press the power button to start and it will Start Up Normally.
Any thoughts on this one.
BTW, they are sending me a replacement device and I'm probably going to be upgrading to the Pixel XL anyways
