Problem with Helium Backup - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I wanted to make a Backup with Helium Backup before unlocking the bootloader.
I set it all up but when I start a Backup it asks for a password and then, after a while, fails with an error message and redirects me to the Desktop Backup Password in the developer settings.
I have a blank password set but it still won't do the Backup.
Did someone have a similar problem?
Greetings

I think, Helium Backup doesn't support crypted phones. Had the same problem at my crypted Nexus 5 as i wanted to backup data for my OP3.

[Q] Backup restore

HI
I'm facing follwing isssue.
I'm the owner of DVP,
I have last backup from August 2011
few weeks ago my phone was broken,
Dell repleaced this with a new one...
how to restore the backup on this new DELL ?
i tried simply copying backup to the restore point but no luck ...
zune can see the restore point but is unable to restore the data...
I have very important SMS messages in the backup which I need...
is there the option to load it or maybe the option to open the backup on PC ?
P
You can't restore a previous backup to a new phone; you can only restore it to the same hardware you backed up.
If you lose your phone or suffer hardware failure, all your SMS and app save data is gone; sorry. Crazily, device backup is a feature Microsoft believes isn't needed in WP7; if you diagree and feel your data is important to you, vote for the feature at WP7 User voice.

Click to collapse
Unfortunately, if you performed the backup via Zune, the files are linked to the old device id... If I remember well, I read that they're encripted using this value,
so you can't restore them into another device...
Looking at what you wrote, I don't think you made a backup of your sms with the application you can find in this forum, and then saved them using something like WPV app data backup. In this last case you get back your sms...
Those Acer phone are usually pretty good, wanted to buy one of these too, but decided to go with another model instead. I think it's a very good buy at that price!

Titanium Backup fails to restore some apps

Hi, I never had this issue before, I did apps backup with Titanium Backup. After restoring to another device (same model, replacement unit), 30 out of 90 said were failed to restore. Is there still a way to restore them?
Thanks
I have found you can mostly avoid this problem by selecting "restore to original location" in settings.

Titanium Backup Pro Not Recognizing Backup Files

I recently had to wipe CM14 since it was buggy. I went back to CM13 but I lost all my apps. I installed TB Pro and I want to do a full restore of all my apps and data. I found the right directory in the preferences but TB is not listing the apps for which I have a backup. The backup files are encrypted. I also have a copy saved to a cloud storage service but the 2.5gb of data is always on my phone.
I can't figure out how to restore to the same phone with the same OS and the same device ID. Help!
RESOLVED. I had a filter selected! Duh....

Password changes after TWRP backup/reboot (?)

Recently I started trying out a few custom nougat roms, and as the title says, if I choose to backup my current rom with TWRP (official 3.0.3), and reboot back to system, the password will have changed and some system settings will be reset (hardware keys swap)
As far as I can tell, data/data still has my app folders in it, so I'm not sure if all the apps are reset too. One thing to note is that the backup size for data partition was only 70mb.
I can't really tell if it was caused by rebooting or initiating the backup process.
Data is not encrypted.
Anyone have any ideas?

I can't say anything about your backup,
but this is probably the solution for your password issue.
It is a known issue when restoring rom backups on the OP3.
So far I don't know a fix for this other than following the linked method.
For the future It is best you disable password / fingerprint before making a TWRP backup.
Be careful. It will delete the function of your Home Button (secon methode) and its not able to restore this function. So if youre going to delete the key.files you have the chance to enter the System but also have to go back to oos after back up your files -> the mega unbrick-thread
Its the best way to Backup your files before you restore the whole System if nothing's working.

how to fix twrp Backup & restore problem?

createTarFork() process ended with ERROR=255
First, make sure you disable finger print and change security to swipe or none. Also, make sure you are not encrypting your backup. I don't think that feature is working, at least it's not for me.
Download terminal emulator, then type
su
pm remove-user 999
That will delete all 999 folders which causes issues with TWRP, its a parallel app issues, so as long as u don't use parallel apps u r fine
the solution to this was to boot to your previous rom that u have made nandroid backup with and then setting up the same password/pin in settings > security. When you then boot into twrp it will ask you for the pin/password to decrypt your data partition and then you can flash the nandroid backup(you have to have the same password there). here it is obvious that you are trying to flash data partition that uses different encryption password (in case of stock rom there is non) and this obviously wont happen.
I sometimes have this issue if the TWRP backup gets stuck at the end of backing up /data. The only solution for me is fo abort and start the backup again. After 2 to 5 times it works.
