I'm using the Google keyboard. With my m9 I remember that if I put the phone into silent mode (the one just below vibrate), the haptic feedback would also turn off. But with the m10, unless i go into power saving mode in the power settings, I can't seem to find a fast way to go to silent and disable haptic feedback. Any ideas?

I have the Sprint version of the Touch Pro 2. My preferred ringer setting is "vibrate and ring". However, if I temporarily switch to either vibrate or silent mode, when I turn the volume back on, it goes back to the "ring only" setting. Is there any way to have it return to my preferred setting?
Same problem here, and it is driving me nuts! I go from quiet to noisy environments and it is causing me to miss calls. Someone please help!!!
I spoke with HTC tech support today. They were able to reproduce the issue on a phone they had on hand and acknowledged the problem and created a case file. They said it will be researched and fixed in a future software update.

To turn off the vibration, go to Start>settings>Sounds & Notifications>Notifications>Open the drop down menu and scroll to the Event: you want and deselect vibration.
Hope that helps.
there is not deselect vibrate for events, it only has on or off...
WillardZ is right. You have two possibilities for, fi, email: vibrate or not. So, when you're in silent/vibrate mode and you have selected not to vibrate for new email, it will not vibrate. As fas as I know, it is not possible to have it the way you want, e.g. in silent mode vibrate and when not in silent mode do not vibrate. The only way to get around is to set it up manually every time you switch modes. To get rid of the blinking light, just deselect it at the same page of the sound settings for new email/sms.
Is it just on the sony arc or gingerbread that we cant put our phones on silent except vibrate.
Isn't there an option to make your phone silent on the lock screen itself?
Suit your needs at sound options to set in silent mode whether vibration will be on or off.
Just pull the sound button to the left
Sent from my LT15i using XDA Premium App
settings; sound; vibrate; never... done!
yh the lockscreen options sets it to vibrate but the thing is i want it to vibrate when silent but also want it to be completely silent with no vibrate when going bed
couple of things you could do..
download quick settings - you can switch it between silent and vibrate in there.. or
go into settings and switch vibrate off in there..
LOL! It's called flight mode.
no its not flight mode. On the x10 I could set it to vibrate or competely silent where as on arc its vibrate only
Well if you turn OFF vibrate it will silent wont it ?
Or you could just turn the phone off.

Hi guys,

Hey there. I have some trouble with the alert slider, not working how I need it to be working. Here are my settings and how I use it:
* Silent Mode: Does not vibrate and turns off media sound
* DND: Accepts only calls, which were made in between 3 minutes
* Normal: Just normal Rings and vibrates
So, also I have installed the Tiles app to add an extra Ringing Mode Tile to enable an vibrate only mode in the normal mode. My problem or assumption was now,
that I want the silent mode behave like the normal mode when I get called. To make this clear, when I get an call in the normal mode the screen turns on and displays
the phone app. But this ist not how it works in the Silent Mode. Instead the screen stays of and shows the notification via the "Always On Display". This notification
is not very visible, causing some missed calls...
I thought the Silent Mode only disables all sound but behaves otherwise like the normal mode. Is there something I can do to make it behave like I described or an alternate way?
Silent mode is when the switch is all the way to the top. In that mode, the screen does turn on.
Just flip the switch up to silent and then when that little settings pop-up comes, click it and go into alert settings and you can then turn vibration on and off for the silent mode section.
My screen does not turn on. It just stays black and an small notification is shown. I'll try it again...
I am on latest OOS nougat.
