Enhanced messaging? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note5

So i finally got my phone updated. My buddy told me to turn on enhanced messaging. I dont seem to have the option in my messaging settings. Anyone know how to activate it, it seems like a cool feature and i want to try it out. But no clue if we were excluded from the feature or not

I believe AT&T disabled enhanced messaging on the Galaxy series. They tend to do that -- disable some of the cool features that Samsung put in (i.e. download booster, and certain toggles in the drop down menu)
Edit: is your friend on another carrier with it enabled?

Yea he's on a sprint note 5 and he was telling me about it.

I know the LG G3 with the marshmallow update has enhanced messaging. I was hoping for this feature and am disappointed that it's not there.

[Q] Add Blacklist Function to ICS

I was wondering if someone out there in development land could add the blacklist call blocker with the wildcard function into a rooted ROM like the older CM7 had? Is it EVEN possible in ICS? I do not see the call menu option like there was in GB?
I love having the ability to block calls without adding addition apps from the market.

Using apps that replace stock ones

One thing in particular is the messaging app. I've used GoSMS for quite a while, but realized that the Direct Call function and Smart Notifications don't work with it. Tried Handcent as well.
Is this something that can be addressed from a developer standpoint or are we forced to pick and choose?

if its a touchwiz feature it means more than likely it wont work with anything but stock. This is because it does not have the proper framework to use those features.

GB27 Accessibility bug fix?

On stock rooted GB27 and if I enable any accessibility service (Such as the one for Pebble for example, which lets it read notifications), the TTS voice starts announcing page numbers for the home screen and app drawer until I disable all services. Is this fixed on any ROMs or should I just go back to ignoring JB?
Not sure if that's a bug or just the functionality of the app. When enabled it describes all actions taken within settings and system ui.
I know an acquaintance with very limited sight with a GalS2 (att) with this feature and the phone is constantly making announcements while navigating screens or menus.
Pp.

All I can do is say i got the same problem. (Poncho has no idea)
To everyone still asking:
If you enable the Pebble accessibility service, it partially enables "Text to Speech" accessbility on the home screen (and elsewhere?). This is totally undesired.
FYI, Pebble is a wristwatch that can bluetooth pair with your phone.
NOW, Bump, for great justice and the same problem. What JB roms will spare my Epic 4G Touch?
Sadly. It seems there is yet no fix for any of the samsung devices. However samsung is aware of it. Question now is when and whether it will ever be implemented into a rom for rooted devices...

I want to try a custom launcher in hopes that it will fix this... perhaps it is only touchwiz? Does anyone have an alternative solution? (I am rooted)

Custom launcher is the best solution if you ever use TTS. I'm happy now.

Xposed Multiwindow Mod?

I'm looking to possibly get a Galaxy Note 8.0 down the road for a custom dash install for my car. I was wondering if there was a possibility to get the Xposed Multiwindow Mod from the Galaxy Note II to work on this device.
I thing not working on jb4.1.2

It works fine. Please do not comment if you are unsure of things, because you can start a huge row for developers.
I am running it right now on my tablet, and it runs great.
It works perfectly for me!

Really? Can you run Spotify and navigation side by side?
I was able to get it working also.
Folks should be aware that it is very difficult to use the CWR tools to get rid of it again at this time, though you can do it manually via ADB.
Also that Odin recovery does not wipe out installed apps, which I did not know and am happy about. (I tried changing dpi using a different one of the Xposed modules; it did not work and my phone bootlooped. I had the uninstall around, but was not able to install it via CWR.)
The multiwindow one works nicely. There's also an app in the play store that works for enabling multiwindow view for many more apps.
I don't use Spotify so I don't know about that one in particular.
Out of curiosity what is the diff with this and multi window mgr. Be gentle i am using mwm but int in the diff.

I don't know, MWM just didn't Work for me.

It's very similar to multiwindow manager, honestly. MWM is a little funky in that the app itself doesn't know that the Note 8 exists yet. I think I told it I was using a note II and it let me add whatever I wanted to multiwindow mode.
The one thing I have not tested yet with the new way of adding multiwindow functionality to the device is the camera. With MWM running, if multiwindow mode is enabled the camera locks up the device.

I haven't tried the camera yet while using it but I don't take many pix with a tablet. For MWM to work you have to disable the patch it mentions when you launch it first. Other than that it works with all my apps. I also love multi touch gestures app.Update just used the camera with no issues. First time I tried it. Pretty good image for a tablet.
I'm using the Xposed method and while the camera doesn't fc there is apparently no shutter button. In fact I'm typing this from one window with the camera in the other.

And I have to admit that this is far from my go-to camera - but occasionally I'll launch the app accidentally or on purpose, and it'd be nice to not have it hink out on me.
The fix for me has been to disable multiwindow mode in the system preference, and that may well work for the Xposed mwindow modification as well.
Xposed is a framework with developer interest from the companion Samsung devices and it may allow for other things to arrive fairly quickly on the device, before a full rom is ready.
This is awesome; I'm definitely going to be getting one of these for my dash install later this year

Scroll lag with common apps

Switched to the Note 5 from a Nexus 5. (I switched because my Nexus was having problems with its mic calling people)
Scrolling through apps like facebook and google play music are laggy, choppy, whatever you want to use. Compared to my nexus which continues to be buttery in this area. It's noticeable and I'd personally expect better out of a device 2 years newer. Any ideas on how to improve performance on the Note 5 before I take it back.
I have already been into the dev options and checked the force gpu options, played with the animation timing. Not a lot of improvements.
Thanks for feedback.
Try disable android pay see if that helps. That's place to start. If u can't disable it get package disabler that should let u disable bunch bloat.

Disabled it, didn't seem to make much of a difference. This thing chokes a bit when it goes to send a new text animation as well. Kinda on the fence of trading this for the Z5 Premium, however I don't know if I could let go of the pen.
I haven't noticed any scrolling lag on my Note 5. I have not disabled any apps or used exotic settings.
