I have updated my phone to 6.0 with the BETA firmware. I am trying to unlock the bootloader afterwards but it force closes, I am referring to the bootloader unlocking tool provided by Asus. Is it only compatible to Lollipop or have an issue with Marshmallow firmware? Anyone experienced the same issue?

As per now it's not possible to unlock boot loader on MM wait for some tweaks or for a official Boot loader unlock app.

start by reading the FAQ sticky http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711073
and get familiar with the terms as mentioned in Q5 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2744194
then if you still have questions, post back
so if i do the the q2 in the frequently asked questions it will work on 5.0.1 with the exact same steps? so there isn't a 5.0.1 guide anywhere ;/?

The old good method i.e flashing the superSU.zip using recovery for rooting the device is now not working on android 5.1 lollipop,
other methods also not working. Please if anybody knows the rooting process for 5.1 then post it here. Thanks.

Ever since i took that second step to getting the mm bootloader ive been having problems installing roms and kernels. The only rom i get working for the mm bootloader is dr ketans, where when i was on the lollipop bootloader i could flash any. When i flash others it just hangs on the boot animation. Can soneone explain to me why the mm bootloader isnt playing so nice with roms? And can someone also give my the simplest guide to go back to the lollipop bootloader? Thanks.
Can someone tell me whats the point of upgrading to it?
Is there anyway to go back to 5.1.1 If you are on 6.0.1? I bought. Note 4 Verizon yesterday on swappa should be getting it somtime next week. The device has marshmallow installed. I just need to know if I can downgrade to 5.1.1 then root and unlock BL. Iv done some reading thru the forums, if this has already been discussed then my fault, cause there's a good chance Iv over looked the topic. Thanks

If you're on a Marshmallow bootloader you can only flash ROMs that are based on a Marshmallow bootloader. If you are on a Lollipop bootloader you can only flash ROMs that are based on a Lollipop bootloader. It is entirely possible to have a "Marshmallow" ROM that has a Lollipop bootloader base. Some ROMs demand that you be on a specific bootloader. @chevyrhoad's Grace 7 ROM is one example, Jasmine7.0 is another.

Thank you very much. This is why i was having problems flashing different roms. It seems like the lollipop bootloader is more flexible with roms. I already downgraded back to the lollipop bootloader. Ill be sticking with the lollipop bootloader Thanks.
I'd firstly like to state I am new to the forums, and give my thanks to brilliant people who give guys like me somewhere to turn. Now, my question is, is it possible to downgrade from MM PJ1 to OGG or OJ1 or lollipop in general. I've seen a similiar thread about a UAE version or somethung that said it was possible. I have successfully downgraded a Note 3 from lollipop to kitkat, which has locked bootloader too if I'm correct..?, but I would like to have any input before I do this as it is my main phone. Thanks!
yes it is possible.

So in theory, i could downgrade to Lollipop and use the kernal auto-root to possibly get rotot? I just got an HTC 10 so I'm really itching to mess around with that s6 Edge Plus. Lol.

There is no twrp officialy for any model. H815 and one more. Not sure exact number. Also mm is unrootable. And most devices cannot downgrade from mm to ll without suffering bricks due to qfuse versions u may be outa luck

Please open only one topic of the same content really it doesn't help if you open separate threads with the same question
Your device cannot be unlocked officially so you will have no option at the moment to install a custom ROM on it but you can install TWRP for your device just search for TWRP in FIsH

You'll find pretty well everything you need at ...
[Canadian Guide] - Complete Source for the LG G4 H812. Linux VM/Root/Tools&Files:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/canadian-guide-complete-source-lg-g4-t3212449
Read the instructions and ALL the posts there to get a good feel for the how-to. You will be able to successfully root, install Xposed modules, Titanium Backup and as steadfasterX pointed out above, install a TWRP custom recovery version with TWRP-in-FisH (Version3 Beta 4 and 5 seem very stable - the links are in a couple of the later posts):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/locked-twrpinfish-locked-g4-devices-t3573048
Read everything thoroughly and if you run into problems, post questions to those sites.
You will not be able to root with any of the root apps in my experience.
Good Luck,
S.
