Ever since i took that second step to getting the mm bootloader ive been having problems installing roms and kernels. The only rom i get working for the mm bootloader is dr ketans, where when i was on the lollipop bootloader i could flash any. When i flash others it just hangs on the boot animation. Can soneone explain to me why the mm bootloader isnt playing so nice with roms? And can someone also give my the simplest guide to go back to the lollipop bootloader? Thanks.
Can someone tell me whats the point of upgrading to it?
Is there anyway to go back to 5.1.1 If you are on 6.0.1? I bought. Note 4 Verizon yesterday on swappa should be getting it somtime next week. The device has marshmallow installed. I just need to know if I can downgrade to 5.1.1 then root and unlock BL. Iv done some reading thru the forums, if this has already been discussed then my fault, cause there's a good chance Iv over looked the topic. Thanks

If you're on a Marshmallow bootloader you can only flash ROMs that are based on a Marshmallow bootloader. If you are on a Lollipop bootloader you can only flash ROMs that are based on a Lollipop bootloader. It is entirely possible to have a "Marshmallow" ROM that has a Lollipop bootloader base. Some ROMs demand that you be on a specific bootloader. @chevyrhoad's Grace 7 ROM is one example, Jasmine7.0 is another.

Thank you very much. This is why i was having problems flashing different roms. It seems like the lollipop bootloader is more flexible with roms. I already downgraded back to the lollipop bootloader. Ill be sticking with the lollipop bootloader Thanks.

Hey guys. I'm looking to upgrade to "LG'S stock lollipop firmware but I don't want to lose my bootloader so I looked around here on xda and there is no modified stock roms that won't upgrade my bootloader for my Bell D852.
My question is how can I modify my stock lollipop image to not update my bootloader?
I've always run stock roms without updating the bootloader by using a custom rom based off as close to stock as possible but I can't find one for the G3 based off stock lollipop., Anyone know where I can find this???
Thanks.
My question is, does it matter what bootloader version you are on for a custom rom?
Far as if I am on MM Rom (Jasmine 6/7), do I need to be on MM bootloader version or LL bootloader for LL Rom? I know I need to be MM bootloader to even be on MM ROM, but do you understand what I am asking? Do I need to be on LL bootloader for LL ROM and MM bootloader for MM ROM?
Can I be on MM bootloader and have LL ROM?
The reason I ask is I am on the MM bootloader and have Jasmine v7 installed and my camera works just fine. But I want to go back to Jasmine 4.3 (LL), but when I install it again on MM bootloader, the camera is blurry.
The only way to fix the blurry camera is to install official firmware or MM rom such as Jasmine 6/7, or even official LL firmware.
I have no problem starting the whole process of unlocking the nite 4 since I've already done it a dozen times now. But while at work was wondering if anybody had an answer other then what I am doing.

If you're on a Marshmallow bootloader you can only use ROMs that are based on the Marshmallow bootloader. Jasmine 6.0 and up are examples of such ROMs. Paul Pizz and CM13 from 6/22 up are too. (Yeah, I know, so is the 6/20 version but that was so buggy that I don't even count it.)
Jasmine 4.3 and below were based on Lollipop bootloaders and need a Lollipop bootloader to work properly.
Yeah, the ROMs may partially work if you cross them up. But they won't be usable, with the big problem being data and the lack of.

Thank you, thought that was the case.
Hey guys, My dad is willing to update his LG G4'S version (Currently running Lollipop), I do understand a thing or two in rooting, custom roms and recoverys , however, I own a galaxy s6 - it has no AOSP Roms, only stock based. and my father is used to his phone as it is, I don't think flashing cyanogenmod will be a good idea, he likes the functions LG added and stuff like that( Yeah, I don't understand it too ). Are there any good MM stock based roms?
Thanks and sorry for my English
Cant u just ota official mm?
If not, what variant does he have? not all roms can be flashed.

Sorry for not mentioning - H815, Also, what is the newest official MM version (carrier-free)? I don't have any OTA's in my place currently unfortunately.
I use the stock MM ROM ver 20D listed in Android Development section, and it is lightning fast and smooth!

Well good news, you got the bootloader unlockable variant!
To be honest anything with H815 in it is what you can do.
You can flash stock MM (I'd reccomend v20h its located in the general section)
You can flash cm13,
Be free little birdy!
I'd firstly like to state I am new to the forums, and give my thanks to brilliant people who give guys like me somewhere to turn. Now, my question is, is it possible to downgrade from MM PJ1 to OGG or OJ1 or lollipop in general. I've seen a similiar thread about a UAE version or somethung that said it was possible. I have successfully downgraded a Note 3 from lollipop to kitkat, which has locked bootloader too if I'm correct..?, but I would like to have any input before I do this as it is my main phone. Thanks!
yes it is possible.

So in theory, i could downgrade to Lollipop and use the kernal auto-root to possibly get rotot? I just got an HTC 10 so I'm really itching to mess around with that s6 Edge Plus. Lol.
I'm looking for ROMs for the US990 and I have found a couple which was Fulmics and OCT-M but I couldn't find any more that supports the US990. Are there any more I don't know about or any Nougat ROMs?
**BUMP**
Also this seems to be one of those devices nobody dares touch or discuss. Why so??
Am I the only person in the universe that owns the US990?
I m the second one who has this phone.if I have rooted this us990 and have succeeded in flashing the TWRP,can I flash the rims you mentioned?

Yeah, I rooted using kingroot on 4.4.2 (10c firmware) then I installed "SuperSU Me" (you'll have to Google it) then uninstall kingroot and you'll have SuperSU. I downloaded the TWRP manager from Google Play... You can use BUMP from here as it's more recommended. There is only 3 official ROMs that's support the US990...
OCT-OS L (Android Lollipop)
OCT-OS M (Android Marshmallow)
Fulmics ROM 6.9 (Android Marshmallow)
I will warn you, FULMICS ROM doesn't work properly on the US990 and the developer will not fix or acknowledge the issues so I DO NOT recommend flashing or using this ROM.

DO NOT FLASH LS990 ROMS ON THE US990!!! Sorry for that, anyways if you flash LS990 ROMs on the US990 your partition tables will become corrupt and your US990 will be hard bricked that cannot be recovered from, even with flashing a KDZ....

I know how you feel, it is very unlikely that Android 7.1 will be ported to the US990 as it is a rare device and nobody manages it anymore. Its unfortunate that the US990 only saw 2 official stable ROMs but its just a device that was in low demand so nobody developed for it...
