Just updated, i did clear my prints and i can register new ones. I csn unlock my phone with the new prints without issues but i cant use samsung pay.
It says "verify new prints" but a pop up says " opening secure pin code, please wait" but nothing happens.
Anyone else?

No issue here. Screenshot please

No need for screen shots. It asks to verify fingerprints and a pop up saying "opening secure pin code pad, please wait"
But it never openes. I have cleared cache and data for S. PAY but still the same.

Mine did this too. Do you have any apps disabled through Package Disabler or the app manager?
When I encountered this problem I enabled everything and suddenly Samsung Pay worked and it went past that "opening secure pin code..." window.

I thought about that and enabled everything but it still did it. I I ended doing a factory reset and that solved it. Guess it's good to start fresh anyways

Same here.
Just shows how much "control" they have over our devices!
I could see ADM being a big deal for Nexus owners or people who own phones that the manufacturer doesn't provide a wipe/tracking feature for. Samsung's Find My Mobile (ex-Dive) has been around for two years and has more features than Google's ADM. Does anyone see any features or benefits ADM provides over Find My Mobile?

And notification's a bad thing? What if someone hacks your Google account and is tracking you via ADM or maliciously sends a wipe command to your phone? Without any notification you'd have no idea. The first thing I'd do on FMM if I truly lost my phone is remote lock it, even before tracking it. The lock command you send to the device allows you to have a 100 character message appear on the lock screen along with a number to call about returning the phone. Which by the way isn't something you can even do (yet) with ADM. Once it's locked the person who finds it (or stole it) can't do anything with it including turning off its wireless signal(s) or reading notifications. And if the phone's in your possession and you track it, ring it or pull a call log who cares that there's a notification? I kind of see your point though in that if the phone's been intentionally stolen the thief could see the FMM tracking notice in the notification bar (there's no audible alert) if the phone wasn't locked first. But a thief that knows Android would immediately hard reset the phone (or disable Wi-Fi and mobile data) right after stealing it which renders both ADM and FMM useless anyway.
It's useless if ur phone is stolen. But very useful if u forgot where u placed your phone. Getting it to ring enables me to find My phone much easier instead of calling myself
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 4
All of this is useless because it is enough for someone that steals/finds your phone to take out the SIM card and no way any software can tell you where it is... so it is very limited help.
Will this require the internet to be turned on my phone?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 4
Yup. It basically connects to your samsung account which your phone is logged on to. A hard reset will remove your samsung account login details so this is really useless if stolen.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 4
What about hardreset? Will ADM survive from a hardreset?
Don't expect too much since it's an added free feature. I'm personally using Cerberus which have full of features and I don't compare the two side by side. Maybe you don't need it now but this small new feature will be of help when you really need it.
Hi guys,
Finally, android device manager is official now and you can track your device or erase the data if needed. Just Google it.

I have Cerberus installed already but I guess this might come in handy in case something happens and Cerberus is not working. It does not do all the things Cerberus does...like taking a picture.
Mine won't locate the device =( I do have everything setup correctly but it's constantly searching and location unavailable... it's same for all 3 of note 2 my family has, weird?
I'll just depend on Cerberus, plus it has more functions anyway.

Thanks for the heads up!
Anyone have device manager "lock and erase" working with custom ROMs on this phone?
Thanks!
PS:
Locate works, and Ring for 5 min, but "lock and erase" are inop
So I flashed a bunch of roms over 2-3 days trying to find something different that I'd like. Now no matter what I try, I can't get this to go away.
I've searched and experimented for the past 2 days and I can't get anywhere.
-clear app cache
-clear app data
-remove updates
-format sd card
-factory reset phone
-turn off location services
-turn off wifi
-try new apn
-install stock rom
-install various other roms
-delete cache, permissions, etc
-different gmail accounts
-sign out, reboot, sign in
I've literally tried everything out there that I can find by searching. The last thing I haven't done that I will have to try if I can't do anything else is to "un-root" my phone back to stock.
The weird thing is if I Check the play store, it says apps are installed. But they aren't.
Any one out there have any ideas?
Going back to stock won't fix it either. It a problem on googles end.

I'm having the same issue. I'm not rooted or anything. I can download certain apps no problem but can't update any. I tried almost everything you did and nothing worked. It allows you to change your location to france, Canada or wherever which in turn changes your IP address. It doesn't change your location permanently of course, only while your connected to the app. I looked online for ways to fix the package file invalid error and this was one way posted. It definitely works if you have this annoying problem. I even went ahead and purchased the pro version of the app I posted. Lol.

I still have not fixed the issue. I was stuck on trying 2 to 3 apps that refused to work. Looking across the board, I am able to download probably 80% of the apps that I try. Nothing has allowed me to get the other 20% that refuse to work so far.
I've tried the VPN app....I don't think there is anything else out there on my end that I can do. It's weird, I can download 5 apps in a row, then one app will give me the error, then I can keep on chugging if I choose a different app.
its happenning to alot of people, myself included...no big deal, as no app is "life critical"...
when google gets it fixed, it will be back to business as usual, so just be patient

Like, at all...
Settings -> Security = Crash for me :T
My phone keeps saying "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped" whenever I click on Security in Settings.
I'm not sure when exactly this started, but I've only just noticed it today.
The only thing different I've noticed was that when I opened S-Health, I got another window for an update and just did it anyways without really thinking at all. For all I know it could have been an unrelated update for my phone I suppose.
Is there anyway to find out what's wrong?
Can I fix this without factory resetting?

I can't seem to delete this thread, but after a Googling a bit more, I found out that the problem was the s-view case with Verizon models d: also, you can change the settings in safe mode if you don't feel like taking off the case s:
I have the same problem it appears that there is a nother third-party app that's causing the pro I don't know which app it is.
But I can access security if I do a reboot into safe mode. When you need to access security try that.

Hi Everyone,
Need help. I've been trying so hard to access my Note 5's Service mode to try and test if my Fingerprint scanner is working (as I keep on getting the dreaded error whenever I try to access Fingerprints) but to no avail. I keep getting Connection problem or invalid MMI code error message no matter what code I try. Any suggestions? I'm using this phone in the Philippines by the way with a non AT&T sim card. My phone is not rooted.

Yes this is the one.
This is the correct keypad code and has worked since the release firmware and still does on marshmallow. You know you are supposed to enter this in the phone app dialer right? The fingerprint test is in Sensors on that codes page.

I just noticed something. I Checked Application Maneger in Settings 》scrolled ro the right to the All tab and I have Phone Applications. All are version 1.0.0. 1 is 100kb and the 2 others are 8kb in size. All 3 are activated. I cleared cache on the 2 8kb sized Phone app and forced stop them both. Tried *#873636# on the dialer = same error, tried *#0*# = same error.
Can I ask help from you guys how many phone apps do you have in the All tab in Application Manager? If 3, which is the one activated?

It's just an app that can be purchased in the Google play Store that is used to disable things on the phone that can't be disabled through the phone's normal application manager. If you haven't installed it, it's not on your phone

You simply asked what Package Disabler is. I never said you needed it to get you service mode working. If *#0*# wasn't working before, installing that app isn't going to help.
I'm not sure I understand what your motive is. At the beginning of this thread you said you're trying to check if your fingerprint scanner is working. After looking at the options in my service mode menu, I don't even see anything regarding the scanner.
After re-examining the service menu (*#0*#), there is a fingerprint sensor test under the general sensor test area.
I don't know why you're not able to access it, though.
