Thank you so much, it worked at first i thought it would brick the phone because of the model difference (GT-S5660 - GT-S5660M) but it worked !

Now that you've got the recovery working, you can try any other touch based recovery like PhilZ Recovery or PX Recovery and don't use stock ROM as custom ROMs are faster than stock ROM, now that you've got a custom recovery, it wouldn't be so difficult for you. :highfive: :fingers-crossed:
But first confirm that the recovery or ROM you are going to flash will work with Canadian Gio (GT-5660M) or not or you will have to use ODIN again.
If You Want to Keep TWRP, you can flash the updated version (Released Yesterday) from your current recovery from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2728689
as the version you currently have is one year old.

Dont Flash This as this is not stable yet. i have tested it and i was stuck in recovery until i flashed a new one Use PhilZ Recovery Which is also touch based and one word you will say after using this is AWESOME!!! BTW flashing an .img through terminal or flashing .zip through recovery is easier than flashing a .tar via ODIN

@belyava no offence but I think you are wrong here (maybe I am ) @kaiserlourdes I Think You Should Try It as it will do NO HARM and you can always revert back to your current recovery by odin or terminal method

yes, you are right, it does exist! But! it is able only to backup/restore stock roms. It could flash ext-based roms, but not rfs-roms, only odin can

That's what @kaiserlourdes meant (to backup/restore stock rom).

Accidentally formatted /system via twrp... urgent help needed... :(

i accidentally formatted system when i was trying to update from cm11 to cm12.1 via twrp... i could not flash any of these roms after formatting it... because these roms could not recognize it as xperia m device(it says this rom is intended for 1905 1904 2004 and 2005 when flashing..)
i know system is just my os partition and there must be a way of solving it.. so what should i do? flash .ftf of 4.3 via flash tool or any other options?
Thanks in advance..
Try to flash 4.3 through flashtool then flash any cm12.1 rom through TWRP. Don't be afraid I always format /system before flash some rom.
Thanks for the reply bro...

Your welcome! Try it through cwm. I think that's enough. You can try flashing a 4.3 stock zipped too. That zip maybe will restore your phone. Try and tell me

Hey I'm getting the same error with Flashtool. Can you tell me which CWM recovery did you use? Because I've now CM12.1 installed and it comes with Cyangen recovery. So I'm not sure if I can just flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2494793 this one.

I have the same problem too!! I happened after installing the community builds, sometimes it allows me to flash the TWRP but will not let me boot into recovery. the only thing I have left to do is turn off and on, but obviously the TWRP no longer exists although just flashed (will start recovery stock).
What ROM were you on??
If you were on the community builds, you will have to flash the modified twrp 3.0.2-19.

Thanks, this is your first post actually describing your issue.
As an experiment, try flashing the CM or OEM recovery in fastboot, just to see if that sticks.
We just want to narrow down why fastboot shows success and then you're getting a black screen.
