I've downloaded the RUU Zip (Stock Signed) 1.80.401.1 (by @djluisbento) from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/stock-stock-collection-recovery-ruu-ota-t3359297
I'm following the De-brand/convert to WWE using a RUU guide from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66750006&postcount=3
I've gone through all the steps but I'm stuck at
8. flash WWE RUU to convert
rename RUU provided by @Mux89 to 2PS6IMG.zip
copy 2PS6IMG.zip to root directory of SD card (currently 1.30.401.1)
reboot to download mode
press Power button to confirm flash of RUU
Click to collapse
Which I'm assuming it requires to copy the file a physical SD card? I don't have one at hand, I've copied that file to the internal storage (/sdcard/2PS6IMG.zip) but when I reboot to download mode, there's nothing for me to do to flash that zip file.
Do I really need a physical SD card?
Yes you need a physical as card

Fastboot flash zip ruu.zip from download mode (or ruu mode for s-on)

Since I have a fairly simple question and a 10 post limit, I'll just link to the post I'm referring to: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=786436, and ask exactly how it's done. This post effectively details how to turn S-On and flash back to a factory image. I'm referring to Part 2 to go back to Stock 2.2.
I understand that I need to put the s-on .zip file on my SD card and "flash" it through clockworkmod recovery. That's cool, but what exactly does that mean? Do I click "Install ROM from SD Card (even though this isn't a ROM?)," or reboot into Recovery and use the "install .zip from sdcard" option?
After "flashing" the .zip file to turn s-on, then I would have to put the RUU on my SD card and just boot into HBoot.
I understand that I'm being a little impatient; 10 posts isn't much at all. But I'm on a bit of a time constraint, and my question is pretty general.

That mean you boot into HBoot and then Recovery once in recovery choose Install zip from sd card and choose your S-on zip after that you do the RUU part... have more question just ask....

Yes, but you have to name it PB31IMG.zip in order for HBOOT to recognize it.
Thanks for the help, guys!
Hey guys,
I just flashed the boot.img via the boot.img in the Custom Rom (CM10) (./fastboot-mac flash boot boot.img) and then I found out I didnt put a rom.zip but a rom folder on my phone.. So I wanted to reboot but it doesn't really reboots.
When you hear that chime, it plays that 3/4th and then goes to 'HTC One tm' screen and stucks.
How.. do I fix it?
I flashed it with latest recovery thingy, 5-1.8 as I can see in my download folder.
Thanks so much in advance!
Go in to Recovery(like TWRP), mount USB, put the ROM on your SD-Card and flash it.

I can get into my SD, but I cannot move/paste anything onto the drive. Both SD as Internal folders.
edit:Ok, I got the CM10 rom.zip pasted on the SD-card, but when trying to install: It says 'installation aborted'
2) What you mean with flash it? Just 'install rom from sd card .. .. and select the rom.zip?

Then the zip is probably corrupt, download it again. Yes, flashing a Rom means installing from sdcard.

Probably you have to disable the signature check in your recovery. After that, it will succesfully install.
I upgraded HBOOT to 1.36 (CID HTC__044) and completed all the prerequisites for JB (ARHD 17.1) but I forgot to copy the rom to SDCard for flashing via CWM!!!
Is there anyway that I can copy/push a rom file to the SD card through HBOOT?
Your help is much appreciated.

Found it!!! You are a star!!!!
Thank you ever so much.
I only recently realised that CWM stores backups in .ext3.tar format instead of a .img format. When I search for a way to use adb for recovery, i've only found ways to use a system.img file but not an ext3.tar file. Is there any way to perform a recovery if I have a system.ext3.tar file using adb? or anything else?

Actually, on the Droid Incredible, system.img should be the format for the system partition. .ext3.tar sounds ok for /data and /cache but not /system.
After verifying the image is for the right device you could format system and untar it to /system after mounting it. Again, I don't think this will work on the incredible as CWM creates .img files for system.
Why can't you use recovery directly anyway?
I can't get into recovery so I'm trying to use it through fastboot. Didn't quite understand can I use the .ext3.tar as an .img?

No. You'd need cwm or adb. Did you already try reflashing recovery in fastboot so you could get to it?
If that doesn't work you may need to ruu.

I will try reflashing recovery. Do you happen to have the RUU for 6.01.605.05

I don't but it should be retrievable.
This should be it at cmlusco's site in PB31IMG.zip format.
http://dinc.does-it.net/Stock_Images/4.08.605.15/
Thanks you've been very helpful. I'm downloading the PB31img.zip now. Would flashing the pb31img.zip be the same as flashing the RUU? You wouldn't by chance have a link on how I can flash the PB31img.zip would you? Again, thank you

Place it in the main sdcard folder and then reboot into HBOOT which is hold vol down while turning on the phone. and if it doesn't get picked up, check if the sdcard is formatted as FAT32.
I forgot to mention if you do an RUU update or flash stock via the PB31IMG, it will wipe your internal storage(emmc). You will lose root but not s-off.
Here's a good link for you:

Even though it is already fat32, it is sometimes necessary to reformat it again to get hboot to find the file. Just back it up to a pc, reformat it fat32, and then place only the PB31IMG.zip file on the sdcard and try again.

Just a guess but I would try flashing that https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934550733 rename to '0PJAIMG.ZIP' and place on sd card and try and flash from download mode.
Try and update once installed, it may well wipe your device!

those are the steps
rename the RUU.zip to 0PJAIMG.ZIP, place it on a ext sd card formatted in FAT32 (a 16 or 32gig one should work), reboot into DOWNLOAD_MODE, agree and it should flash.
Can't be exact right now, in bed about to go to sleep lol, I presume you know how to get into download mode, not recovery. If the file is located in the sdcard at root it should commence flashing if named as I said before. Good luck.

Are you putting the file on the Ex SDcard ? and is it the correct name ? and is it a fat 32 card ?
sd not mounted = wrong file name or not fat 32
here just use the RUU EXE much easier
http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-m9/news/
be aware all these will wipe your internal storage
Is it formatted and named correctly as stated.

Yes flash TWRP and SuperSU again
but no if you save your system.img before you root you can restore it and not loose everything on the next OTA
it's all here >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59745198&postcount=3
and my files are all here >> https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=28823
We have the same phone so my files will always work for you
and what RUU did you flash the .6 or the .30
if you flashed the .6 take the OTA before you flash TWRP / Root
