Just wanted to make everyone aware of the dual boot patcher app. The developer started it for the Galaxy S4 but has added support for many other devices. I tested it on my T810 and it works! Using Neked Nook rom as my primary and CM12.1 as secondary. The official thread is here...

REMEMBER THIS IS A SNAPSHOT BUILD, THAT MEANS THE APK IS BUILT AS SOON AS CHANGES ARE PUSHED FROM THE MASTER HIMSELF @chenxiaolong
I'm proud to present the first dual boot project for the Qualcomm-based Samsung Galaxy S4! This project started off as a feature in my ROM, but not anymore. This will allow any two ROMs (soon, three) to be installed at the same time. It works by patching the secondary ROM's installation scripts and boot image to load the ROM files from an alternate location (/system/dual, /cache/dual, and /data/dual). Because of the way this is implemented, no changes to the primary ROM are necessary

Tested Personally myself @ktetreault14 with the G920T Xtresolite 5.0.2 ROM (found here) as my primary rom. I then used @eousphoros 5.1.1 Debloated V2 ROM (found here) as my secondary. I even have a Sprint OE2 rom I was testing in a third slot. You might wonder how this is possible. All thanks to chenxiaolong's brilliant multibooting system. He has now added in the ability to install roms straight from your /data partition All without touching your primary rom. You could be stock rooted and have no problems as long as it isn't aroma. (In which case I think you could alwasys use flashfire) The S6 Edge didnt have a very large /system partition (only 4.05 gb ) and /cache was nothing to brag about either (for those inquiring minds it is 304.7mb) So naturally I asked the amazing quick chen if there was any way I could Install it to my ~25gb /data partition, within days he whipped something up... But enough with the story get on with the tutorial and show me the downloads... Ok Fine.. Here. We. Go!!!!!!!!!!!! :fingers-crossed:
TUTORIAL AND PICS AND VIDEOS
I'm Assuming you have the apk downloaded and installed. Also you have the rom and, if you need it, the kernel already downloaded on placed on your phone's memory.
Step 1| Open the apk, Swipe right from left edge, Patch Zip File.
Step 2| That is obvioulsy not your phone so lets change that. Click jflte and select zerolte in the dropdown. (BTW all those other phones are supported too.)
Step 3| Change where you would like it to install too. (Most likely going to be /data unless the roms are heavily debloated or AOSP) For the purposes of this tutorial it is going to /data
Step 4| Name your ROM. Pick Your ROM.
Step 5| Ignore The Information Here, Scroll down, Tap to begin patching. Do as many times as you would like
Step 6| Open hamburger menu, ROMs, click the FAB (Floating Action Button), click +, pick patched rom.
Step 7| Keep Installation Location or change if you are not sure. Do as with many zips you would like to install.
Step 8| Click checkmark in top left corner.
Step 9| Reboot and you will boot up into new rom
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SWITCH ROMS
Step 1. Open App
Step 2. Click ROMs
Step 3. Click Rom you want to boot to
Step 4. Reboot

If I'm running the eousphoros 5.1.1 Debloated V2 ROM as my primary, I would need to start over, correct? (since this ROM doesn't have root and has stock recovery)

Nope. You only need root for the app if you want to flash in-app. Just patch rom and install from recovery
Nice Thread
Thanks for usefull thread
No problem. It's even another now
I couldn't get the 5.1.1 ROM to work. It says it's unsupported and fails to flash.

Hopefully we get more Roms options soon, loved this on my S3 switching between 2 different setups, currently we have what, one Rom 5.02 and a stock 5.1.1 without root?

Yes I agree thanks for making this thread!
App sharing problem
I didn't check the box that it says to check if you want to share info from one partition to another but it is sharing. How do I stop that? I want to have one ROM for work and one for personal without the info of pics crossing over.
s6 edge?
This is posted in the tmobile s6 edge forum but you only mention using this with the s4. Is this actually usable on the s6 edge? I checked the threads of chenxiaolong from post #1 but I only saw reference to the s4 in his threads as well.
I'd like to dual boot my phone but this thread doesn't make me believe it works for us s6 edge users.
Yeah using it noe
It seems arter kernel not supported.

Jsut need to know if this is currently working for S6 Edge
I have the g920 flat s6t and haven't have any issues duel booting. Always had Sickness roms as my primary and with all his versions i had no issues with duel boot but now in his latest v9 built i am unable to duel boot. When i reboot secondary rom it stays at samsung boot logo, it does not go into recovery. When i flash the utility zip to switch to primary rom it boot loops and goes to recovery and none of the roms boots..so i reflashed sick as hell v7 and its duel booting good. The rom developer told me he have no change anything from v7 to v9 he just added some tweaks and xtra apps, don't understand why is not duel booting with latest rom. I did flashed the log file. I will attach it.
Hello friends.... I'm sharing this Flyme OS which i found (shared) in MIUI forums, so that xda developers might take interest and improve it with their magics...
ROM is Based on android 5.0.2
http://www.droidfull.com/2015/07/1sflyme.html
My personal Experience..
Pros:
1. ROM is awesome with simple & neat interface, features are great.
2. Good amount of free RAM, i noticed ~400mb free after installing few daily use apps.
3. No noticeable lags, Rom is smooth.
Cons:
1. Average battery backup (but not too bad). Can be used as daily ROM
2. Few RANDOM bugs for many users.. such as...
> Gapps installation
> 2nd sim not working
> couldn't change network to 3g
> play store sign in issues
etc.,
I'm very respectfull towards developer & friends here for all their works.. :fingers-crossed:
I request if any dev take interest to fuurther develop this ROM for redmi 1s, lot many users like myself will be greatfull :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
:good::good:
please share it in general section, only post in android development if the rom was developed by you
Sorry.... I'll see how i can move now... Sorry again..
Nice ROM..only one problem is there that it doesn't support dual sim
Atlast new os for our redmi 1s and I think so it must expand by porting different OS like touchwiz, xperia, etc.!!!
Our armani devs are good in removing bugs,so I request them to add dual sim feature if they have time in future
I didn't face gapps problem and su even
I too loved to see new OS being ported.. I'm very much happy with this Rom's UI & features... Only the bugs are drawbacks..
I've never ported any ROM's until now..
Trying to port flyme OS over existing CM builds.. No success yet..
Any helps from experienced persons & developers.. Greatly appreciated..

Hi guys,
I need support and thanks for your help!
I'm running zen2 ze551ml/2.3mHz/4Gbram/64Gbstorage via stock rom.
Some app don't work for device when I get noticed that "this item isn't compatible with all your device".
Let me know: app is not compatible cause x86 chip OR version 5.1/6.0 ?
Sample: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.babylon&hl=en_GB
Or etc: Socl from Microsoft, Home from Facebook....
Thanks in advance!!!

This is mostly because of the x86 architecture.
All most all apps support 5.1 and many are being updated for Android M.
If you have 6.0 on the phone some apps might show this as they currently do not support M.

As far as I Know There are no build.prop tweaks that can be made to by pass the playstore compatibility thing.
You can sideload the apk or flash it.
This site might have it.

Hi,
I would like to know if I'm missing anything with the crossporting method I've seen for MT67xx devices. I've been trying to port MIUI 9/MIUIpro9 ROMs from Redmi Note 2 (hermes, MT6795) for Jiayu S3 Advanced (MT6752) but I can't seem to make it boot.
I've tried following this step from @sandeep.sethi and it didn't work. I tried adding a modification with some of the .rc files in ramdisk because I saw that there are still
HTML:
mount all/fstab.mt6795.rc
in them and replaced with
HTML:
mount all/fstab.mt6752.rc
and it still didn't work. I tried reaching out to the "Flare X (Same chipset, hardware with Jiayu S3 Advanced)" team in their facebook group but they're not willing to share their porting method.
Is there any other MT67xx porting method I could try? I'd really want to port a MIUI 9 ROM for Jiayu S3 and I've exhausted every porting method I know and I still can't make it boot.
I've been porting ROMs for MT6753/35 devices and I tried somehow doing the same thing with Jiayu S3a (MT6752) and they won't work.

Thanks, I've already made contact with the one who ported that ROM prior to your response and he has given me some helpful information regarding the ROM.

Hello all,
Here is the problem as I understand this - Samsung has an feature in their apps to identify compatible devices and runs special features for them.
These features are not compatible with custom ROMs on those devices. Error message is a bit misleading there. There is a general solution by using root and lying to the app about build.prop. I do not want to root my phone.
However I know from my problems with Samsung Health on root that there is a patched version you can install and setup a profile.
Once you do, the app can be updated and it works normally.
Do you guys know if such apk exists for Gear Wearable? That app works fine on Lineage 17.1 on my Sony XA, but here it will not.
I do not want to use stock, but I also need this app.
