I'm using Onkyo HF player with a micro SD (60GB) I got from Sainsbury's for £16, put ALL my i-tunes on it (ALAC) and it plays lovely, equaliser is amazing! (playlists don't seem to work though, but hey who cares)
What's everyone else using?
And why hasn't someone made one with a similar GUI to i-tunes? great look, awful program in the main.

The PocketMusic Player is a must for anyone who is serious about music quality. There is a customisable 10 band graphic equaliser for a start with presets or adjust the equaliser settings yourself. There a bass boost facility. Supports multi music formats. You can use winamp skins as well.
When used through my XDA 11s and Sony EX71 phones the results are fantastic. Much better than WMP. Good value for $20.

music player for manila 2.5
im a total noob on this winmo 6.5 phone...i have a touch pro 2 for att...but i dont like the music player because it wont display my albums artwork...it shows one art work for all my music...can anyone tell me whats wrong??? thanks...sorry if i posted in the wrong area...but im new here. sorry.
that usually is because of the mp3s. this is a sample situation to cause that bug (that is present on all devices and all players btw., even on the pc):
- play a song with a cover inside the mp3
- play a song with a folder-wide cover that is not in its original folder
- play a song w/o a cover
from that point on, all the songs will display the same cover, because the song without cover could not override the old cover, which behaves odd anyways, because it is not in its original folder.
this was just an example, but to avoid bugs like that, you should integrate the covers in the songs and get rid of all the folder.jpg /png cover.jpg /png and similar files
but asides from that, you can of course, try other media players, like tcpmp, link in my signature (tuts and downloads), or s2p (ac-s2.com)
alternative for wm
i think u can go for Nitrogen which good for playing mp3 and other audio formats just search for Nitrogen for wm6 in google.
S2U2 works very well also.

Hey orb,
I didn't think you lingered around my turf
for a great FREE!!! player that always works. Nitrogen is the way, easy and simple.
hey guys.
have any recommendations for a good music player with crossfading?
I love MixZing but the one thing its missing (for me) is cross fading.
tried MD Music and it's the best at it, but it's still missing a lot of other features. Lithium Player has very nicely integrated cross fading but the UI is not exactly the cleanest.
any suggestions? free or paid, i'm good either way.
thanks
I'm using Poweramp and it's the best one.

I'm torn at the moment. At first I really liked Poweramp, mostly because the ability the boost the preamp helped with the low volume problems I was having when listening to it in my car. However, after purchasing Volume+ I found that I no longer need that boost.
Zimly by far has my favorite UI, but I've been getting a lot of crashes on it. I'm also considering bTunes, as the part I miss the most about my iPhone is the media player. I'd be curious to hear if anyone considers that a favorite
I also love Poweramp really much.
Bought it.
It plays my music collection at home, has a great equalizer, and now even supports Beats audio - whaddya want more?
Lol, it supports now beats?!?!?! I used to have it, but then I removed just because of the beats. Stock is good, though.
I use winamp because I'm old school I can't say it's especially different to any of the other players I've used but I stick with it anyway.
For audiobooks I use Mort Player Audiobook, now that is a very impressive app! Pity it looks so ugly but I'm sure it will improve.
I've been using PlayerPro for a while now and really like it.
I have been using Winamp since its release. So far it is a good and simple player. Besides I'm using the desktop Winamp player, which enables me to sync my music via the app wireless.
PlayerPro, because I can browse my music by folders.
I've been using Poweramp for a while and I love it! Its flawless!
Google Music. And I also using unlimited data plan
I'm using stock music app, it's good enough for me

I can't get it to download album artwork, even though the stock music app has done this and it shows in the stock app... Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong with Power amp?
Stock Player and Google Musik is good for me
Stock HTC Music player, because it is the only player that support special audio effect
I don't listen to music so much on the phone. (All the time on the PC!)
However, there are a few listed media apps here in case it helps anyone.

I am using it too, for me it is the best player ever D
Im using the HTC Player too. But thers one thing, I'm not happy about. Where is the "Coverflow". It was included in older Version. Is this function deleted or am I stupid?
For me, the best one is 3 (Cube):

stock sense 3.0 music player for me. every music player ive used had a problem for me; always automatically playing, skipping, and pausing, when a headphone is jacked in. i uninstalled all other music apps. i only have stock player now. stock palyer aint so bad, the quality of the sound is almost the same as from other music apps.
Hi
finally got an MHL cable and hdmi , seems to work fine but when i played videos i have no idea why but their's no sound
anyone have similar issue ?
Switch players. More than likely your video player doesn't support the file type or is missing some codecs. Try Dice player from the market. Seems to be the best player out right now.

ill give that a shot i was using mx player.
I am looking for a clean and good sounding music player. I like the stock media player app layout but it shutters when playing occasionally. This bothers me some. I don't like dbPoweamp or Rocket Media player. I've tried Winamp, but it doesn't read half of my album artwork for some reason. My music is encoded in Vorbis (.ogg) at quality 8. I know it isn't my files. It's the player. The shuttering doesn't happen often, but occasionally. Also, I don't like that it uses "the" when looking under letters for albums.
PlayerPro is pretty awesome
i get hicups on the stck app as well, but only on super high quality lossless audio, mp3 are fine. i hope s4 doesnt hicup

I tried PlayerPro, and it hiccuped just as much. Then I optimized the read speed of my MicroSD by using one of the cache altering apps. I haven't heard nearly as many hiccups since.
Edit: The card was still benchmarking at almost 20 mb/s. So I don't see why this would have helped.
Try over clocking
hard to believe but our phones processors could be the problem
I haven't tested my theory yet thought
