Is there anyway to disable the charging LED? It's very bright at night. Perhaps just a way to lower the brightness of the LED...

Do you have all the correct Xposed installer files installed on your phone ? #1 You will need to download and install Xposed installer APK
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwTmxGRSsvBHMXdocWpBWGtpTW8/view?usp=drivesdk
#2Then you will need to flash the Xposed installer framework in your recovery.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwTmxGRSsvBHTGRoTzFvSFBPUTQ/view?usp=drivesdk.
After installing the framework in your recovery reboot your phone allow the phone to upgrade Android apps and fully boot up.
3# go to downloads in Xposed installer. In the search box type in GravityBox[MM]
4# download and install GravityBox[MM]
5# in GravityBox scroll down to power tweaks, find "battery charging LED" and select disable ! Plug-in charger and there will be no red charging light only a green charging light when it is fully charged
I have Xposed setup properly. However when I tested my phone was fully charged so only saw the green light. The green light is the one I have the most issue with, very bright in a dark room with screen brightness turned all the way down.

You can try an application called "Light Flow" in the play store. Locate the charged LED. Set the color to "Black". If that does not work I do not really know I don't like messing with the root properties too much. Unless it's sound enhancements. You could always just flip your phone over when you're charging it that will definitely eliminate the brightness of the LED lol
Works fine with Xposed GravityBox and the red light.

Yes this would eliminate the light, except when I'm looking at the screen. Thanks for your suggestions.

Duplicate topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/help/disable-charging-led-t3391093
GravityBox only disables the chargING indicator, not the chargED indicator on this phone.
EDIT: LightFlow doesn't touch it.

Just thought I would share that this app works great with the nexus 4. It actually is running flawless for me right now go check it out in play store. You can control your led light on the front of the device with just about any notification and color
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflowlite
Yeah I love light flow I use it on my galaxy nexus
Luckily one of the android blog sites helped test the app so I managed to get a release out before the phone came out. I'd hoped to get one myself, but 10 cart errors later and they'd all gone!
Glad it seems to be working ok. I'm working on improving the calendar reminder notification as they seem to go a little crazy at the moment due to change in the way notifications are displayed now (ie snooze a notification and it won't totally disappear from your notification bar - you won't get an icon, but it's still there when you pull down the bar). So this is causing some extra notifications while on snooze, but I'm hoping to get a fix out for it soon. At least I can recreate it on my galaxy nexus on 4.2.
I was getting my led glowing randomly since installing so I uninstalled.. Was I doing something wrong?
Also how badly does lightflow affect the battery?
Thanks
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
I have the full version.
I've noticed some colours aren't working properly. eg. Indigo will show the some colour LED as red, Navy and Blue look the same too.
Would really appreciate if someone could make a list of all the true colours that actually work?

A couple of things with this. Swiping away notifications won't stop the led at the moment: vote for this android feature request here: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=23106
Also try adding the light flow debugger widget to a homescreen as that will tell you which notifications it thinks are on.
As for battery drain, I think it varies for different people depending on what settings they use. I try to set the default app settings to be fairly sensible on battery drain.

I'm planning in a future release to have a section where you can remap the preset colors to new RGB values as it's one of those things that varies a little from phone to phone. The colors were originally based on what the nexus one could manage (it was probably the best phone for color representation) and then tweaked a little for the galaxy nexus.
As I've not seen a nexus 4 (stupid google play checkout errors) yet I've not been able to experiment.
I installed the lite app, dunno why, my led was active all the time (white colour), even without notifications or plane mode. I uninstalled the app, and now my led doesnt work (Nexus 4)
I'd really like to jump on board with this app, but after a report of "My LED doesn't work anymore" I'm scared. I think I'll wait for the dev to get his own n4 to work out n4 specific kinks/quirks.

Regarding to this, I have to say that the custom color mode works very straight for me, the color that I chose is the colour what I see (taking into account the obvious deviations from IPS and RGB led, of course).
Under Settings there's something that says "Additional LEDs Found" and there's 4 LEDs there:
lcd-backlight control
lm3530 control
pm8xxx-led control
spotlight control
Any idea what these are for?
Thanks

Also curious about this.
Also, it does seem to work well so far, but testing the LED in-app does not work. Any idea why this is?
Anyone having problems with Gmail? If I set Light Flow to use priority inbox I don't get notification lights. If I uncheck use priority inbox then it works.

the testing does work. when you get the popup about waiting 5 seconds, immediately click the wake/power button and you should see the led trigger the tests.
Developer said Priority Inbox isn't working right under 4.2. Will be fixed once a fix is found. Regular inbox is fine.

I have a weird bug with LightFlow. When it is enabled i will randomly get Accessibility voice when inside chrome. Like, she will say "NEW TAB" or she will call out the page title of every thing. Then if I disable light Flow, the bug is gone.
Would like to use it but if with this here....i can't. Unless i got something set up wrong, but i check all accessibility settings and they are off except for light flow

Check other Lightflow threads. I remember reading about on the S3 thread or GN thread. I've never had it happen, but remember some other people talking about it.
Tested it a couple of day and is not working properly, light notifications are very slow to get dismissed and sometimes the led blink without a reason

What? No. Outside of only inbox and not priority inbox it's working great. Same as on my S3. It sounds like you didn't properly setup your dismiss settings for how you want it. There are a lot of options.

The Tab Pro 8.4 doesn't appear to have any Notification LEDs. Liteflow has a number of other leds mentioned under "Additional LEDs found". However, I can't get any of them to work. It would be really useful if I can get the leds to work for notifications.
I'm running stock Touchwiz 4.4.2 with root. Enabling Root and Samsung mode in Liteflow didn't work.
The tablets don't offer LED notifications, The only LED is the camera flash on the back, and it only works as a camera flash or flashlight.

I think I remember an app that allows you to use capacitive buttons LED as notification. I'll post if I remember

It didn't work. Here is the following LEDs that are available when "Samsung Root Mode" is enabled. I have Root. I'm now running CM11 Mondrianwifi LTE unnofficial but it hasn't made a difference in getting them to work. I really want to get them working because I currently don't have any notification lights and using the camera flash as a notification light is insane and blinding. Values 1, 128 and 255 do nothing.
1. led:flash_0
2. led:flash_1
3. led:flash_torch
4. wled:backlight
5. lcd-backlight
6. mmc0::
7. mmc1::
8. sec_touchkey
There is an option in accessibility for flash notification
Edit- nevermind, i see thats not what you want
Hey guys,
is there a way to configure ambient display? Like customize the duration of screen on, the number of pulses, the sensitivity for enabling and so on?
Maybe there is an app or a xposed module?
Thank you!
So i guess there is no such app....
What Do you think, can this be handled via a normal app or via a xposed Module?
Regards

Thanks for the advice. I guess they both dont use the stock ambient display.... I used at least gravity screen for a while on my nexus 4, but it is not working quite the way i expect it to work. but thanks anyways
If you are using XPosed, you can config Ambient Display with the module "Enable Ambient Display". It was developed for the Nexus 5 but works also on my Nexus 5X.

Another possibility is to modify the build.prop-file. It is also described in the above-mentioned thread.
Hi there.
I'm trying to customize the LED notifications on my Huawei P8 lite.
I've installed "Light Manager" but it does not seem to affect the colors of the LED notifications.
I tried to set Normal, Alternating and Screen mode as the Operating mode with no effect.
I also gave the access to Light Manager in the Notification Manager in the Settings.
Do you know it the app is buggy on this model? Do I need root privileges? Is "Light flow" known to work instead?
Thanks a lot,
Howard
Could you ask to the developer here on xda?

No not yet since its official twrp has not been released. I noticed the led light when I switched off my phone and plugged in the charger. The led lit up for fraction of second but it was enough to ensure the presence of notification light.

Found another alternate method in some other post, below are the instruction..(only works on rooted devices)
you can use the Light Flow Legacy app to control the led. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...owlegacy&hl=en)
Once you've installed it, you must give notification access.
Go to menu > settings > Device Settings and Root > check "root mode" and "run every command as root".
Then go to menu > settings > LED control > Additional LEDs found > check "charging control"
Now, go to menu > notification settings > click the 3-dot menu on any of the items in the list > settings
In the next screen, swipe right to find a tab called Light. Find charging LED and click on it. You'll have an option of turning it "solid".
You also have an option to set its brightness, but that setting didn't change the led's brightness.
On the top right corner, you have an option called "Test". Click on that and switch off your display.
You should see the charging led light up(can also use led notification for missedCalls,messages,whatsapp..........)
I have tried and its working..

Any chance you were able to confirm that the LED light is indeed mono-colored, rather than RGB?
