Just thinking if anyone has made a mod to have the LG 4X's lockscreen on the SGS3, it looks superb.
I'll have a look at it myself, but wasn't sure if anyone else was in the process of porting it or not?
Cheers.
EDIT: Just downloading the system dump file for the LG 4X, it should be in there right?
Have you see this? Maybe it can help you on your way

You're missing several "somethings". How did you find the answer last time?
maybe i meant to say is there an su.zip or superuser.apk for it...
it's up to you if you want to answer it or keep being anything but helpful. either way, i'll find my answer sooner or later. i know it's a little hard to believe but not everyone eats, sleeps and breathes android dude. the last thing i loaded on my phone was the 4.0.2 OTA update. it's definitely been a while so i really don't remember where i looked.
So I downloaded the factory image and used the flash-all.sh script as instructed by Google. I was running a custom-build 4.2.2 that had some issues, plus I wanted the new radios. Everything worked fine and dandy as expected, but just giving everyone a heads up: upon first boot, when I was setting up my WiFi and inputting my G-Mail credentials, I heard some low-faint music coming from my ear piece. Turning the volume up, I could tell that the phone had auto-dialed that Verizon "activate" number, I guess to refresh what it needed to refresh. It took all of 20-30 seconds and was finished before I was done with the setup. I was worried because I remember people saying not to do this with an LTE device, but it seems to be OK.
This is the first time I can remember or noticed the phone doing this upon returning to a stock state. Don't know if it's new behavior or what.

Google is your friend. No one is gonna be willing to give you a root tutorial in a general thread. There are dedicated threads just for that purpose.

thanks.
So does anyone have proof that reset to factory and taking the ota can help with the battery issues since 4.2.2?

What battery issues are you referring to? The battery life will be determined by your use. If you have abnormally bad battery life it could be an app with a wake lock or you could just have a bad battery.

All I know is I couldn't get it far enough to pull a logcat. I don't even know where to start trying to debug as the code compiled just fine and everything flashed.. I can't even get any insight as to what to try because my posts seem to be ignored in the pretty much dead ubuntu os forum.. I just gave up.

That's really annoying. Maybe we just have to wait for Ubuntu to pick up the slack and see what they have in store for us?
hey everyone. Im curious, with the awesome devs around here, how difficult would it be for someone to port a 5.x Paranoid Android rom over to our device. I used them a lot back in the day and love the multi-ui options they have as well as many others like pie and halo. anyways im hoping someone would be able to make that happen! food for thought

Hey everyone, so I seem to be having a unique issue with Android Q. This has happened on beta 4 and now beta 5 as well. For some reason I cannot download anything, and I mean anything outside of the Google play store. I went back to an Android pie build after experiencing this on Android Q beta 4 and figured any issue like that would be resolved in beta 5 but here I am again 15 minutes after flashing and setting up beta 5 I have the exact same problem. I am rooted, with no magisk modules. That's actually how I discovered this problem is still affecting me, I went to download The busybox module in the magisk app, and I get "download failed" in the status bar every single time no matter what the circumstances are. I can't get a download to even start whether I'm on Wi-Fi or LTE, chrome even refuses to download. Weirdly, I can download any new app or update any previous app I want with no issues. I have changed no settings whatsoever so I'm stumped. I'm curious if anybody can help me troubleshoot this, as I'd like to finally get to try Android Q. Thanks for any help guys
I just tested a download on Chrome. Worked fine for me. Check your app permissions from settings. That's all I can think of.

Thanks for the response man, I actually just figured it out. For some reason, I was brain farting and installing a kernel completely meant for Pie. I actually just flashed the correct Q build of the kernel and it fixed everything. Thanks for the help though, I really appreciate it!

Hey I hear ya man! I always post the answers to my questions if I figure it out for that reason exactly. Can't tell you how many times I either see a thread with my exact problem with no solution posted, or I see 10 other threads asking how to solve a problem that I or another user has answered 5 other times. The search function is great for people that use it!
