Has anyone tried this yet?
I'm thinking of getting the Robin, but only if I can run CM. TIA.

Yes! It's really smooth. Check the Nextbit forums link for the latest info.
I am trying to play the game slither.io via the APK. Even though the game works, it has little glitches where it slows down a moment.
Is 2D / 3D not properly working on the Nextbit Robin yet for CyanogenMod? I have tried the same application on an iPad Mini that I could get my hands on to test, and the issue does not occur on that device.
I have tried setting the device to performance mode, forcing 2D to GPU via developer options, but none of this made any difference.

Might be better posting in the Nextbit forums. Hardly anyone seems to post here.
Sent from my Robin using XDA-Developers mobile app
Everything was fine BUT when I updated passing from nightly 11 June to the 25th one now my phone when I select power off just reboot. There is no way to turn it off, and seven it boots sometimes ask which sim to use , this is also new and yes obviously there is only one sim slot...
I'm trying to update to 26th hoping this will be all solved. Meanwhile does anybody has any advice ?
UPDATE: When I donwloaded the nightly of 26th and asked to install...it just rebooted. It wouldn't go in Recovery anymore, had to manually force recovery mode and try to install the update.
UPDATE 2: Nothing to do, even with 26/6 doesn't power off ! HELP PLEASE... don't want to erease eveything and start over.
UPDATE 3: I loaded an old backup (early June) and everything is fine. Updated to 26th...again no poweroff. Looks like 25 and 26 have some problem. BUT If I select power off BEFORE typing the initial PIN number it power off for good! If I type the pin, use the system even for a sec and then power off....it reboots.
Thanks!
Still reboots instead of power off.....

ZNH5Y Snapshot for Robin was released on 20th August.
The latest snapshot installed from scratch does not boot when booted for a second time. The initial boot and first time setup works fine. But afterwards if you reboot, it will be stuck in boot loop.
This does not happen when updated from previous snapshot.

Wifi is drain to much battery
I lost my 06-20-nightly build, which has the best battery life ever, by accident. It's time to face it.
I'm not sure if the battery draining caused by me or the build, I just want to know that if there any way to profile/analysis who should I blame?

I have found the battery in the Robin to be undersized in general. Does running CM13 make it worse? This is my first phone without CM; I'm trying to give Android Pay a chance.
Great work op thanks
Excellent ROM as always by CM but battery drain is horrendous...I'm on the official Snapshot (2nd one) and haven't tried any of the latest nightlies...can anyone comment on current nighlies and battery drain problem?

Really glad we have s4 original cm13, thank you very much. I've just a problem, as with every other MM build: my wifi disconnects every time i turn off my phone screen. I set the wifi to never turn off, i disabled the avoid poor connection thing, tried changing to a static type conection or to set to 2.4 or 5 ghz only but no results... did you know this problem? and if yes, any hint to give at me? (and to all other members with this problem?) thank you in advance.

Anyone know if the Ir blaster is working yet? I haven't tried cyanogen or candy in about a month and I couldn't get it working even after setting selinux to permissive. That was the fix I used to use for cm12. I think that's the only deal-breaker for me right now.

CM14.1 Slow Performance (Kernel/CPU Issue?)
Something weird is going on with cm14.1 and the phone's CPU..
I noticed that the phone is running much slower with cm14.1 than cm13.. I did a complete wipe and reflash but still same problem. Then I ran some benchmark tests that confirm my suspicion.
CM14.1 is running at less than half the speed of CM13 :crying: and the A57 cores seem to be disabled. This has been happening since the first cm14.1 nightly until today.
Anybody else experience the same? Any idea how to resolve this?
Code:
cm13.0-20161112
Octane on Chrome 54: 6000-6500
Geekbench4: 1145 Single core, 1620 Multi-core
Cpu-z shows all CPUs are running
cm14.1-20161211
Octane on Chrome 54: ~2500
Geekbench4: 597 Single core, 530 Multi-core
Cpu-z shows CPU 4 and CPU 5 are stopped
great to see 14.1 , keep it up
My other, older phones - running CM14.1 peregrine and hammerheadcaf builds - have Ambient Display gestures (screenshot from hammerheadcaf attached) which make the feature usable rather than gimmicky. I trust ether has the sensors necessary to make that work, especially if a $200 Moto from 2-1/2 years ago can.
What's the deal with the battery drain? This phone doesn't seem to doze like my others.
I'm not going back to stock unless they release an impressive Nougat build with working NFC payments.
tlxxxsracer said:
Most likely ether wont get display gestures. Hence double tap to wake and such were never implemented into cm13 or stock OS

Neither of the other devices I mentioned had anything remotely resembling Ambient Display or double tap to wake in their stock ROMs. If the right sensors to detect the gestures are present the gestures should be possible; on a $400 phone from early 2016 they better be if they were in a mid 2014 LTE version of a $180 phone from 2013
these are nighties soon things going to be better....
CM14.1 is based on 1350 Nextbit Kernel Source

Happened to me too last week for no apparent reason (been flashing nightly even before cm14.1 came out).. Tried to recover in many different ways. Only thing that worked was to flash stock ROM from nextbit (without wiping data) and then reflash cm14.1 nightly.
Good luck!

Hi, I'm on clean flashed CM14.1 nightly, with unlocked bootloader and encrypted filesystem and twrp 3.0.2.1. My problem ist that the nightly updates won´t work direct from CM 14. I mean that the phone boots in twrp but won´t start the update by it self like it was on CM 13 bevor. (This is not the main problem! I can start the update by manual update in twrp) The main problem is, that the phone stuck at bootloop after finished the update and reboot in twrp after the update.
The only way to start the phone normal after the update is to flash the 1450 firmware from this guide.
h...p://community.nextbit.com/t5/ROMs/ROM-15Oct-XxXNextOSXxX-1-1-0-stock-based-1450-Android-6-0-1/td-p/25029
Then the phone works normal as it should. But if I reboot the phone, the phone reboots in twrp again.
So I always need a PC to start the 1450 update script. Does anybody have the same problem or know a another workaround without reflash every time the 1450 firmware ?
Thanks and greets from Austria!

I had a similar issue. I tried using the CM Updater to install the latest nightly and it kept booting into recovery. Like you I went back to Stock 1450 but it still kept going into recovery on every boot. I cured the issue by flashing the latest CM Recovery, I did a wipe from that recovery and all was good.
I hope this helps?

Interesting...
What was the recovery you flashed and how did you flash it? Can you share it?
Thanks!

Hi. There's a link on the Opening Page. It's just the latest CM Nightly Recovery. I used fastboot to flash it just like you would any other recovery.
Hope it works for you..

Oh, nice. Thanks!
I hope i can update directly from Cyanogenmod now.
Thanks again.
Ok, so... there's still a noticeable lag and the fingerprint reader doesn't often work when pressing the power button to unlock the phone. The little fingerprint icon on the bottom of the screen is missing when this happens.
Appart from this, i have to say, this rom is fantastic with the Pixel launcher (miles ahead from stock rom) and i can't really say i miss the original rom. Not sure about battery life just yet. I've flashed it today.
Careful updating to the latest nightly (cm14.1-20161221) I got stuck in boot logo trying to update directly. I have CM Recovery installed.
Had to wipe system and install the latest nightly again. Now its working. No data lost (Thank god!)

I've had that issue happen a few times. Hold down the power button and volume down until the reboot options appear. I boot to recovery then normal reboot and everything boots up fine after that.

That's strange. Did you upgrade to the last 20161221 nightly CM recovery before updating the rom? Also, do you use OpenGapps?

Hi Jleeblanch, I've been following your work since the unofficial twrp for this device many time ago haha, and I just made an xda account to say thanks for all !!! been using the ROM by 3 days now (came from havoc 2.9, also tested the previous lineage builds from your website) I replaced the stock apps with the Gapps and and everything works well and super fast (LTE, Bluetooth, multiple open apps, video, etc) it's a very stable rom, just some lag on the native moto camera app but it's almost imperceptible.
Great job and again thanks a lot!!
Oh boy!! Right now I can't flash it cuz I'm traveling, but next week I'll try it for sure!
What gapps variant do you guys recommend? Nano, pico?
Thank you
Thank you. Your work is very much appreciated.
Ill flash this as soon as I get home.
I have doubts before proceeding to install the rom about its operation, has someone already installed it? Could you inform me about what errors it presents?
Also if you can inform me of how the installation process is.
Thank you

I tried with every variant, but got error 70 in twrp from nano to stock, so I flashed aroma for replacing stock apps and everything works fine

Many have been using my Lineage builds for beckham for some time and we wouldn't be "official" if we didn't meet all of Lineage's charter requirements (exception being MotoMods in this devices case). As far as MotoMods go, support is more generic on Lineage compared to stock as Moto has frameworks && system changes that will unfortunately never make it into Lineage officially.

Hm, iirc error 70 is a lack of space on system? I personally use opengapps nano and haven't experienced any issues regarding installation. But either way, glad you sorted it out.

The 11/18 ROM is stable. I also was using the unofficial 11/03 ROM which was also quite stable.
Recovery program:
I have not found a recovery program that yields consistent results. If I flash GAPPs (nano, pico) using the built-in recovery, with no errors, sometimes after flashing the ROM & rebooting the ROM doesn't have GAPPS installed. Same experience with using the TWRP recovery (fastboot loaded for boot only). Very inconsistent flash results. Suggestions?
Phone Volume:
A little lower than desired.
Voice to Text:
Voice to text does not work really at all well with AOSP keyboard. If you replace with Gboard, voice to text works better but still seems to hang sometimes. Playing around with that to see how to get it to work best
Google Setup:
When using Google Setup with the ROM, on initial boot the WIFI connection screen never shows WIFI connected even though the WIFI icon on the status bar shows to be connected.
Pretty much all the other features I use work fine. Will be fun to see this ROM get better and better each week.
The only issue I have experienced with this rom is the same I experience with every custom rom I have used for Motorola devices over the years. The wave to wake, or I guess, approach to peak seems a lot less sensitive then stock. With LOS I need to be a couple inches from the phone to get it to engage while stock my display comes on 4 or 5 inches from my phone..
Seems trite but my phone is my clock in my room and muscle memory has me waving my hand over it to see the time.

I just installed this one. So great experience!!
It seems to me that the sensors next to the Motorola logo are not active.
By now, I miss the face-unlock..

The Z3 play must have a way other then the proximity sensor to determine proximity.
the proximity sensor is to the left of the speaker on the top of the phone but the peek function will activate at the bottom of the phone.
Maybe noise via the mic?
Installed it yesterday and loving it!
Did someone tried Magisk?
Just one considerations: notifications volume gain is super high, it's loud! The minimum value is still loud and annoying; is there a way to change it?
And I do miss the motorola clock/weather widget...

Awesome to see lineage support! Really appreciate it. Moto mod support is limited? Does the phone at least charge and run off the battery mods?
Super excited to finally see an official ROM for this phone. Would it be possible to get the Moto Display working?
I made the update for today version 25/11, nice and easy, i had to reboot manualy i did not prompted me to do so, but no problem at all. After reboot a popup showed finishing instalation and i was at new version loke it was supposed to be.
I vê been using for the last week, the only reboot, was after finished a call received while changing, i unplugged to answer and when i finished the call it rebooted.

Just a gentle reminder to not flash this ROM on your main device, as especially with RIL at the moment, is broken, preventing and mobile data/call usage.
Great ROM, performance is excellent, seems faster than Stock 11, other than bugs mentioned in post it is very stable.
Flashed over ArrowOS 12.1. Booted fine, most works. Need Google Play Services/Gapps. Great job!
Can someone post screenshots of the ROM? There is a toogle for unlimited google photos?
BTW, I wasn't sure what was the most up-to date version, so I flashed v.5 from the Download's link and the latest version from the Test folder, which appeared to be a few hrs more redent. Seemed pretty much the same. I was hoping that one of them contained gapps, but I see both are labled as Vanilla when you look in Settings/About my device.

Flashed minimal Gapps yesterday. Everything working great! But I could use a more robust gapps, e.g. with Google Mail and other basic Gapps... Any reccomendations?

I have stock 11 on my pixel 2 xl, will flashing this improve battery life? Its nice to see Android 13 on this 2017 phone!
I think it is not guaranteed. Given that this ROM is on beta stage so bugs are expected. Like OP said don't flash it on your main device. Otherwise feel free to try and report the issues you've encountered.
New build is out!
SELinux has been set to Enforcing and qcrilhook.jar bugs have helped progress RIL solution.
So far RIL is still broken, again, as stated, don't test on your main device.
Amazing, great work!! I flashed latest v. 6 on Saturday and reflashed with minimal Core gapps on Sunday. Litegapps 57 MB. Also flashed TWRP and rooted with no issues.
Works nicely, but had to dl gapps from Play store. Need smaller size rom if you are going to include anything more than minimal gapps w/o modifying System partition. I.e., risk brick .
Occasionally having slight issues bringing up recents with gesture nav. Not sure if it's a ROM issue or related to LC launcher. This issue went away. See Edit, below.
Edit: As this is my backup phone to play with, yesterday, contrary to my advice to users for which Taimen is their dd, I decided to try to repartition my Taimen. I used the script on @Pixelbot 's PE 12.1 XDA thread. If I bricked, it would be no great loss! Also, this was a personal challenge!
Repartitioning using @PixelBoot's script worked without incident! I factory wiped in TWRP and with the larger System Partition I was able to install the Nik Gapps Full A13 gapps package and booted without incident. Restored my settings and apps using my Pixel6 Pro and everything works great (except for telephony, due to RIL not being fixed yet, but I don't have a sim on my Taimen. ... I am looking forward to playing with the next update.
So excited for this I'll definitely flash it once RIL is fixed
I got an update ota to 13.0 today. I assume data and all is working on it? I'm really wanting to flash it. Do we need to clean flash or just ota away? Lol

RIL not working yet. So no phone or mobile data. I'm on it since my Taimen is a backup phone w/o sim. You might want to hold off a little if Taimen is your dd.
Why would they send an ota with ril not working. That's why I asked because of yer previous post about data not working. In the changelings fer last couple of days lots of radio and WiFi changes have been done. I always look at those before flashing . So I guess I'll wait on the dev to reply or go over to telegram to research this question a tad bit deeper.
Wait a minute Alxoom. If yer on last update without radio working can you look in the updater in settings? I mean I got a notification on my bar and updater download like a normal OTA .... HHHHMMM. Off ta research. Haha
I must be going crazy. When the notification showed up it said 13.0 .. after I downloaded it it says 12.1 , and it says 13.0 in the changelogs. Oh well guess I'm blind or crazy,,,, prolly both LoL
