hello all , when some one calls only the bottom speaker works and the other one isn't , while when i play songs or whatever both of speakers works well , why is that and how can i make both works at calling?
It's a known problem (actually, not a problem, just HTC decision) for Desire Eye and similar models (One m8 etc.).
As I remember, there was no way to change it, sadly :\
I'll try to search for a way to fix that, but can't promise anyting.

Dear All,
I have tried to search but I can’t seem to get a straight answer to my problem.
I have noticed that only in voice calls there is an unacceptable (to me anyway) hiss in the background especially when using the provided earphones/mic. If just listening to an MP3 the sound is fine.
I would like to know is this a fault with the phone (I know many htc desire owners have this problem) as in a fault that can be fixed – or is it simple the nature of the phone and I will have to live with it?
My desire is about a week old. I got it direct from Three (u.k).
Thanks.
Hello
One of my friends has just bought a HTC Wildfire S.
It is not rooted or anything else. It is just as he bought it. But he now has the problem, that the voice comes out of the speaker everytime someone calls him. In the call he can switch to the earspeaker, but it is frustrating, that the voice as standard comes out of the speaker.
It was not like that when he bought it, but it is now because he pressed something he doesn't know.
I know how to use android, but I just can't find any settings where I can change it. My question is how I can set it back to sound out of earspeaker as standard
Can you help me?

Hi,
have you tried restoring phone to factory settings? It fixes many problems. I had a problem with Wi-Fi,after restoring it works fine.
Right, here’s the situation, I replaced the screen on my HTC Desire HD a few days ago and literally the first boot since there was a Wifi notification of a ROM update also, so I did it... (Orange UK Software number 3.13.61.5) anyway, since replacing the screen / updating the ROM, the Microphone has gone ridiculously quiet when making or receiving a phone call and if I open the Voice recorder, I can barely hear my recorded voice back, and the only way people can hear me when I call them is if they put it on loudspeaker and still put the phone to their ear...
Ok so initially I thought that this might be a hardware issue as I have been in the phone, however, given the fact that I can hear some playback via voice recorder, this means that the Microphone is working..?
So after a bit more investigation, I found that if I remove the bottom panel that covers the SD Card and Sim Card slots, then Voice recorder works perfectly (but my signal drops off completely so I can't test a phone call... *Are the 2 little gold contacts to do with the antenna?*) So I have come to the conclusion that it must be software? As obviously when these 2 little gold contacts make connection with the phone again, ye it enables me to make a phone call, but wrecks the microphone...
On a side note, I have checked the little Microphone hole on that bottom panel and shoved a pin through it and it’s as clean as a whistle so it can't be a blockage of any sort...
So something is happening when the bottom panel is on the phone, those 2 gold contacts tell the phone to do something? Provide an antenna for it but in doing so almost muting the microphone at the same time..?
Any ideas on how I can fix this or where shall I start? Could this still be a hardware issue? Shall I strip the phone down again and pay special attention to a specific part? :S
Please Help!?
Thanks in advance!
Adam.
which rom are you using? if that's a stock rom, it is highly recommended that you try one of the custom ones from development section (sense 3.5 roms)
Yes, its a stock ROM that was pushed OTA... It's a friends phone, I have a HD2 so I'm very familiar with flashing roms etc... but I'm going through the custom roms section and I can't seem to be able to find a good guide as a starting point..? I see a lot about Downgrading? and S-Off..? (Does that mean Signature Off?)
Thanks very much for the reply though!
Ok... I've flashed a custom ROM now, and a different radio '[ROM] Android Revolution HD 7.0.3 | High Quality & Performance | O/C | Legendary' is the rom I used...
Exactly the same... It's as if the microphone level is right down when the phone has signal/network as if I shout the voice recorder picks stuff up then...
Is there an App I can use to tweak the gain or something on the Mic levels?
I've had the phone in bits again and cleaned out everywhere, theres no dust build up or anything of the sort so I'm sure its not hardware related... but then if the ROM is completely different then it can't be software either can it..? :S
Cheers, Adam.

I'm no expert on electricity and all that but can it be possible that the power input onto the mic is being too low so that it is not functioning properly due to a newer screen sucking up a higher power? but then you mentioned that by removing those plates, it works fine...
I couldn't come across a fix as it seems that not many people had this problem so it seems that it is more of a hardware problem but i'll post asap i find something
EDIT: maybe this
Thanks for the reply! I can't understand what it could be... I have figured out though that if I hold the phone horizontally in front of my mouth and talk then it works... so I'm completely stumped as to what it could be...
Is there no way I can edit some sensitivity figure somewhere? :S
Cheers, Adam.

Hi All
I have had the same issue with no mic imput when calling someone on a HTC Desire 500 phone.
My problem started when I paired a plantronics bluetooth hands free device to my phone and started to use it.
While using the PK100 device all was perfect and no issues, but when I turned off the hands free device I now have the same issue no one can her me through the phone mic, no sound at all. I believe this issue is both software and hardware the software needs to switch the hardware (mic) on and off
It is as if the mic has been switched off by the (PK100) bluetooth hands free but the software on the phone is not re-enabling the phone mic so now I am in a situation where i can only use my phone via a diferent mic headphones or PK100 hands free.
I can also add that while in a call I have the option to switch from the hands free on the phone, or to use the phone or to use the PK100 from an in call option all works ok but the mic on the phone will not reactivate. this seems to be an issue with the software not activating the mic.
If anyone has any idea I would like to here...
I havent been able to figure this problem out, I think my phones mic is bad.
VERY low volume. When I call people, they can barely hear me, but I can hear them perfectly. I have confirmed this by calling my other phone, I can barely hear my voice coming from the one V
I have tried rooting, rom'ing, and different kernels. What actually controls the mic? Should I try a radio update?
If there isn't an obvious answer, I think I'll try sending it in. Its only 7 months old, and HTC just fixed another One V i have that was bricked. I have also tested the same software on my other one V and the mic works perfectly...
really weird, because its just very quiet even though it technically works...
edit- the one v thats not working has a radio of 1.00.00.0521_2
and the one v i have that works fine is radio 1.00.00.0928
otherwise, everything else about the two phones is the same. hboot 1.53.0000
edit- before everyone posts like crazy trying to help me (har har), i am rru'ing back to stock, then doing an ota update to try to push to the new radio. i will see if that fixes the mic, and if not, im sending it back to htc!
ugh! partial success! :/
So after the rru, the phone took 3 different OTA updates. Then I tried calls again. I use groove ip, and on default settings my other One V works great. Again, the mic on this phone ive been working on is too quiet! BUT I do notice a slight increase in the volume.
So I went into settings for groove ip and maxed out the mic gain- and it worked pretty well! Its not quite as loud as my other one v with default settings, but it does work seemingly good enough.
So weird! I already tried cleaning the mic with contact cleaner, and even taking the rubber block out. What sucks is now, do I send this to htc anyway? I have a feeling they will tell me it works so they won't know what to do...
Ill update if anything changes...
Fixed.
Sent the phone into HTC. Not sure what they did, it didn't seem like much. But the mic works properly.
I go to install a custom rom, and mic is f'd up again! Restored the backup I made, and the mic works properly again. My other OneV doesnt have this happen with the same custom rom installed :/ The mic actually works, but what I think it is- it's stuck in speaker phone mode. It doesnt matter if your right on the mic or across the room, it sounds the same. Not very loud with lots of background noise.
So, basically, I have to leave this phone with the stock rom I suppose. If I can overclock it I'll be happy. Just so weird why my other phone doesn't have this issue after flashing to custom roms...
Recently I bought a HTC desire 820 dual sim phone. The phone doesn't ring during receiving calls except from the earphone only. One speaker is not working at all while the other speaker is working fine in playing music even in playing ringtones in setting. the phone is rooted and have a custom rom. I did everything in setting but it looks like a software bug. I couldn;t find another custom rom to instal. Also I couldn't find a guide to reverting this specific phone to its stock rom. I tried the tasker to play a sound file while phone rings but again the ringer itself mutes the speakers.
Any helping ideas please.
