Hi there, I flashed CM 10.2[TeamCanjica] on the Galaxy Ace 2 of my wife and everything worked fine (old SIM is o2 network). Now she has a new contract (Telekom network) and got a new SIM. However when I insert the new SIM card and enter the PIN, the phone doesn't get a network connection. Everything else works without problems.
First, I tried the SIM in my phone - working. Then I tried my SIM in her phone - working (so no SIM/Net-Lock). Before flashing CM 10.2 I made a backup of the stock JB 4.1.2 using CWM Recovery. So I restored that backup and tried it again. The SIM was working.
I couldn't find anything related to that problem in the forums so I tried to diff the system folder of both backups (stock 4.1.2 against CM 10.2 4.3.1) but there are way too many different files to spot the problematic one(s). I also had a look at the tee folder in system/lib but the files in there are exactly the same.
Is there anything I can do to find out, why it is working with 4.1.2 and not with 4.3.1? I'm also puzzled why the old SIM is working fine but the new one isn't!
P.S.: I couldn't post in the development forums because I just registered. That's why I opened the thread.

That was fast
The phone is a I8160P, CM10.2 is the newest one from TeamCanjica for the P version (cm-10.2-20140104-UNOFFICIAL-codinap.zip). CWMR version is 6.0.4.6 (if that matters)
It is not sim-locked, my SIM card (vodafone network) also works and strange enough the new SIM works in my phone (Galaxy Nexus, official CM 10.2 stable, no custom kernel or anything).
Haven't tried a fresh install yet, but since I have a backup, I can try that as well.

backup from cwm is a nandroid backup(it will be in a folder) :/ if your talking about nandroid.md5, thats just the md5 checksum(or something like that)
Awesome, it worked!!! Big thanks! I had to wait for the new SIM card the provider sent that's why my answer is so late.
One more question: I now have a backup form the old not working system and one form the working version. I had a look at the system part of ti, but there were exactly no differences. In the data part the differences are so vast, that I gave up. Do you have any idea, where to look for the relevant differing files? I'm just curious what made the difference.

Hey,guys
I spent many hours trying to solve my internet problems on E988.Even on stock rom i had a problem:connection was established, but sometimes internet stopped working for 10-15 minutes.Reboot or turning flying mode on\off didn't help me.
So i decided to root my g pro and move to cyanogenmod
What i became?Worse battery life and same problems with connection.
But after 6 month i finally found a solution
1.My first mistake was flashing radio from roms created for another country,it did the situation worse
there is no sense to flash radio after rooting and unlocking my phone using freegee
2.My second mistake:i made EFS backup, but was too lazy to restore it
3.My third mistake;i used stock "bic" TCP sheduler."bic" is not the best fo 2g\3g network i am using
Stock linux kernels using in android have 3 standart TCP sheduler types:bic, reno and cubic
you can google and choose best sheduler for your connection type
So if changing TCP(using Trickster mod,for example) didn't help you,you need to back up all your contacts, sms and other important files on external sd card or even better on pc and follow this steps:
1.Flash to stock rom in download mode using lg flash tool(you can found thread with flasher and .kdz files on this forum)
2.Don't forget to make a factory reset before turning your phone on,if you have a bootloop
3.Root your device
4.If you like stock rom, just root it and install trickster mod, then change TCP type, but i haven't tested it on stock,i'm using CM 11
5.If you want to use custom rom, root your device and install free gee.backup your efs partiotion using it,then install cwm or twrp
6.Copy your EFS_BACKUP folder on sdcard
7.Download rom,place it on sdcard
8.Enter recovery,be sure it sees your sdacrd, some lalest twrp builds don't see it,so you can flash early TWRP,you can find it on this forum too
9.Make a factory reset,wipe cache,dalvik cache,system,data and interanl_storage
10.Flash your rom
11.Better flash any other latest supersu through recovery,cm builds use supersu, which don't work with titanium backup or another apps for some reasons
12.Boot in your rom, download free gee, restore efs partition(don't forget to copy it from sd card to internal)
13.download trickster mod, choose reno or cubic TCP type.
14.Press apply on the top of app, save changes for every boot
*For best perfomance use deadline sheduler*
15.Reeboot and enjoy
Issues and quesions during installation:
-Recovery don't see my sdcard!
Flash earlier version, you need to find it on our forum, just don't wipe all partitions,as i did but you always can reflash to stock using download mode
-I don't press any key while booting, but it enters CWM
It's a cwm issue, flash twrp using .zip archive, can be found on this forum too
-Can i flash radio?
You don't need to do it.You have latest radio from your stock rom, which 100% works on your version of optimus g pro.Full wipe doesn't touch any radio file.
-Do i need to restore efs partition every time I change rom?
I am not sure, but better do it
Wonderful effort! Thanks for the informative post

Dualboot
Hi everyone
I have a Xiaomi M2s right now and the thing i like the most about the device is that it has 2 system partitions and that I can install MIUI on my first partition and CM11 on my second partition. This is ideal if you want to test a ROM but keep one stable system.
Is there any chance that there will be a way to re-partition the one plus to have this? Also CMW would need to have true dual boot right or is this a stock feature?
I don't know if partitioning is common on other devices?
The backups created appear to not have the correct dates for filenames. They start with 1970...
Is this a offical build? Will it be listened on clockworkmod.com anytime soon?
Does anybody have problems with mounting the SD card through CWM? On my device CWM wont backup because of not being able to mount the sd card. I solved this error by reflashing CWM through fastboot, but why does this error occur?

Seems that it happens on all recoveries ATM. Happened to me on TWRP. hopefully the developers can fix the source of the problem soon.
What ROM were you running when this happened? I'm trying to narrow down whether its a ROM or recovery issue...or both...

I'm on stock CM11S
I'm try to build a lot of rom but all of these bootloop or take a lot of time to start, or data partition unmount itself after a reboot.
No issue using PA version 20140708
So I think there is some issue in the last sources, otherwise if it was a problem of recovery also paranoid should have bootloop.
Now I'm trying to build PA with last sources

no problems in all my phones with touch
I was hoping that someone could help me out with some advice. I'm having a lot of hiccups after installing CM11 (M12) and I thought flashing a newly downloaded and MD5 verified copy might fix some of the problems.
I originally had CWM installed on my e980, but I've recently swapped that out to TWRP 2.8.1.0. The issue that I'm seeing is that every time I try to flash a ROM, TWRP gives me an error that says CM 11 for my e980 isn't compatible with my device, which it's detecting as an LG F310LR (which appears to be a Korean variant).
Can anyone give me some suggestions on how to fix/bypass this? Flashing ROMS in CWM was working fine, but I've had a lot of problems with TWRP. So many in fact that I've reverted to CWM a couple of different times.
Thanks in advance!

The same thing happened to me once , I had to do a full restore with the kdz , and redo everything.
but you can modify the build.prop or something and change it to your variant.
the thing gets messed up by the Unlocker app.

Hi guys, I have a found a easy and simple fix for getting the wifi on Q. Special thanks to Andy, Error and Jett Kasper, without them I wouldn't have worked out this solution. The steps are quite simple.
You need to have a working Q rom first.
NOTE: DO AT YOUR OWN RISK. Its been tested on US998, LS998 converted to US998 and H931 converted to US998.
The files needed are twrp dataimg or int2sd, any Q rom and jett's magical backup.
If you flashed pie kdz. Then you should decrypt your internal storage by formatting it. Or if you installed zip just make sure your phone is decrypted. Then you don't have to format internal storage again.
Also backup your persist, Persist-lg and modem partitions. Before switching to Q.
1. First of all check which recovery you have. It can either be twrp dataimg or twrp int2sd. If you have this move forward, if don't then flash it in fast boot mode.
2. Extract Jett's magical backup in the twrp backups folder.
3. From stock pie clean flash any Q rom. And let it boot.
4. When it boots. Reboot your phone to twrp.
5. Then in twrp you have to restore a backup. Its the jett's magical backup you have to restore in the recovery.
6. This backup has three partitions. Persist, Persist-lg and modem. Restore this backup and reboot your phone..
Now you will have working wifi om Q.
Tada! Enjoy the Q roms...
Find the backup link in comments.
EDIT: September 29th 2020

Hello, This wifi problem has me going in circles... I'm working with a LS998 converted to US998 a while back. So now I'm stalled out at #5. I extracted the magical backup into the twrp backups folder and I can see the file (2019-11-29--11-36-39_QD1A190821014C2) in twrp file explorer but it doesn't show up when I go to restore it... I tried to find another location that twrp is looking in but can't seem to find another... any chance I could flash the Jett's magical backup as a .zip?

Are you sure it's in the correct directory?
Try making any random backup in twrp and see the actual location where that it saved.

WORKING!!! It was actually in the directory I was looking in, but there was an odd named backup that TWRP was pulling out of, so as soon as I moved the patch file into there with the others it was "seen" by TWRP

Doesn't worked on my H930 and Rebellion OS 1.2
What strange is that on Havoc 3.0 wifi and mobile data worked without any extra body movements immediately after installation. But when I installed Rebellion OS after Havoc, nothing could help to get Wifi working.
Now I restore backup Havoc 3.0 and everything work again. Maybe something in system, not modem or else
it work for me, ls998tous998,thank u bro
For me it worked by making myself a backup on oreo kdz of the modem. I installed in between TWRP... Then i flashed the 30b Nougat kdz with lgup. Then i flashed HavocOS again with twrp. I restored my modem backup from the 20h and it works.
I get a qualcomm error at startup still. I do not know if its related. My phone is a V30+ flashed with US998er kdzs. I do not know what it was before
I guess if nothing helps it is a good idea to backup a oreo modem for themselve and restore this.

Ohh ah now i understand. Yes, i administrate in between my G4 so nougat is still sometimes in my mind
I have an V30+ imported from USA, im living in europe. I dont know what it was before.
So my steps were:
Flash 20h kdz in LGUP refurbish
Flash TWRP
Backup my modem from Oreo to my hdd
Flash 30b kdz in LGUP Upgrade
Flash TWRP
Clean for Android Q in TWRP
Flash Android Q in TWRP
Restore my modem in TWRP
Bootup Android Q
I used US998 KDZ
It works so far. AOD is working after some activating deactivating. The Qualcomm MsgTunnel error is now gone.
Wifi disconnected once, i will further have a look at it.
If i forgot something or something is unclear feel free to ask
Ok, I borked my phone pretty good trying this. First, it didn't take using the US998. I then tried the H930 . In both cases I got errors writing/wiping the persist partitions. I will also admit that I missed the part about backing up those partitions specifically. Anyway, after that I bootlooped a bunch. Finally was able to flash a stock rom through twrp and then my twrp backup finally succeeded. however, I no longer have a cell radio. I assume I need to reflash the modem, or those persist partitions? Wifi is working (back on my old pie rom). A bit stuck ATM. Also, any idea why I had those problems flashing persist?
OK, tried this again with the same result. Ended up in boot loop until I flashed a stock rom through TWRP. Error messages are:
"Unable to locate partition by backup name: 'persist-lg'...
Partition Persist cannot be wiped."
Modem flashes with success. Any ideas?

Don't know what all you did --but H930 modems are not compatible whatsoever with any North American variant modems.
(Wrote this earlier before my other answers to your other thread but it never saved.)
Yeah, it was late and I wasn't thinking. I only did the h30 after the us998 failed. Anyway, tried again after I got everything back up and working, and it failed in the same way, though it didn't boot loop. The ROM loaded and cell worked, but no wifi. See screenshot...
In your case I would give it a try to flash with lg up beginning with nougat 10d rom in refurbish.
Let the Roms everytime complete boot up. Things are happening during boot.
After flashing the oreo 20b and 20h in my case as update, i have to reboot the notebook before it finds the phone again.
Flash onto this 30b as updateand you should have a working stock phone again.
Last time i did the procedure i flashed in the last step pie 30b but without the modem in lgup.
Honestly I can not say for 100% if i left the other two files on oreo too.
I am very sorry about that
After that i flashed twrp, then android 10. On this i write now.
I had your problem when i flashed another android q onto the first.. i cleaned system cache and so on, did format data but still.
After beginning new it works like a charm again now with q.
Hope it helps you.
Well, I unzipped the Jeff folder in correct backup folder, but there was no use when I booted into TWRP and restored it, cuz I was unable to find the restore folder on it, and I had to go back to Pie, again. Any help?
I don't think this is working on my H930DS.
Restored while on lineage and havoc.
Have issues on both. Intermittently random reboot and fails until a few reboots.
Has the solution mentioned by @InfinityMO work reliably? And if so wouldn't it be the same to extract a modem.img out of the Oreo kdz or of not possible
