I'm currently having problems with some camera apps like VivaVideo & MSQRD. It's very dark especially indoors, but not on daylight. I'm assuming it's a problem with ISO on these apps. But the Stock camera app, as well as other apps I've tested are working like camera360 and candycamera.
Im on F400L. Issue started when i flashed to fulmics MM Rom, so I thought it was the ROM. Recently flashed XOSP MM but same issue. Anyone else having same problem? Thanks
I'm experiencing the same issue, did you solve it?

Hi all,
I am having issues with FFC (Front facing camera) on my EVO running CyanogenMod-7.2.0-RC0-CMC. FFC works just fine with camera app, but it doesn't work with any of the video calling apps like Skype or Tango.
Some Google search and reading CM forums, it seems like this issue is known and has still not been fixed for over a year now. Although I found the amount of people who have reported on this issue is quite small.
Is anyone else running CM experiencing the same problem?
Does anyone know if the same problem plagues other ROMs as well?
So far i really like CM, and even though I don't use FFC that much I'd still like to have a more stabler ROM (CM would occasionally reboot on me too, and have weird slowdowns and touchscreen issues when charging).
About 7 days ago, my camera app started force closing everytime I tried to open it. Thought it was an issue with the CM10 build I was using, so I wiped and flashed the official AOKP ROM. The issue persisted. Tried multiple ROMs, including stock. It seems to be an issue with not only the stock camera, but with any app that accesses the front facing camera. Skype won't let you log in. The stock camera app force closes. Camera ZOOM app works with the rear facing camera, but won't let you use the front facing camera (just flashes black when you try to switch to the front camera, then switches back to the rear camera). This all started about 7 or 8 days ago, and I initially thought it was an issue with the experimental version of CyanogenMod 10 that I was using. But after multiple wipes and reflashes, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Sounds like a hardware issue. Maybe you can get the hardware to reset by leaving the battery out for 15-20 mins?
Swype'ed on my CM10 Galaxy Nexus
go back to stock and see if that resolved the problem.
Let the battery sit out for an hour today at work just in case, no dice. Clearing data/cache in the Apps menu, no dice.

Yup, tried that. Did a complete wipe of internal storage, not just user data. Used the GNex Toolkit to put stock 4.0.4 and 4.1.1. Same results with both. I've (miraculously) never dropped this phone, so I'm not sure what could have caused the front-facing camera to fail. Either way, Verizon is sending me a new one. Drives me NUTS not knowing what really went wrong though.
I've been noticing something very annoying with my rooted LG G3 (VS98510B). Whenever I record something, the camera goes dark as if I lost light. This happens with my girlfriend's G3 (t mobile) as well. This is especially noticeable in in-door areas, and it's even worse when I record something through Snapchat. I have the stock camera app, stock firmware (kit Kat 4.4.2) and no custom Rom or kernel. I've tried installing the modded camera app a few months ago but it made my camera app force close when I tried opening it. I might try installing that mod to see if it helps. What do you guys recommend? Are any of you experiencing this?
Hello!
I have an annoying issue with my op3.
I am on official cm13 nightly builds, which I flash around once a week.
since some time I have the problem that the camera causes my phone to freeze for some time, which usually needs a hard reset to get it fixed. happens around 4-6x per week.
this happens mostly in Telegram (because I use it A LOT) when I try to attach anything. in that attach menu is a tiny camera preview, which I think is the problem here.
but that is not limited to Telegram. it can happen in basically every app which uses the cam.
I thought it's maybe from my dirty flashings over the last months, so I did a clean flash with cm-13.0-20161022-NIGHTLY-oneplus3 yesterday.
additionally I flashed:
open_gapps-arm64-6.0-stock-20161026
SuperSU-v2.78-201609011115
xposed-v86-sdk23-arm64
after reboot I reinstalled most apps using Titanium Backup.
and guess what? the problem is still there!
does anyone have an idea what could cause this?
The stock camera has always been terrible. Use Footej or some other third-party app (Footej gives far better image quality than the stock app).
I also have that with the latest snapshot. Not only with the stock camera. Any app that uses the camera makes the phone to freeze. Sometimes it works again after a while but the lockscreen/Taskbar resets.
I've posted this in the CM13 Thread as well but I decided to post it here since its been happening even on stock rom.
The problem is that my front facing camera is EXTREMELY smoothened. Especially in Video Calls (Skype, Whatsapp, not in Google DUO apparently)
Its been like that even when I was on Stock Rom before changing to CM13. Anyone else encountering/ed this issue?
