[Q] FFC issues with CM - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I am having issues with FFC (Front facing camera) on my EVO running CyanogenMod-7.2.0-RC0-CMC. FFC works just fine with camera app, but it doesn't work with any of the video calling apps like Skype or Tango.
Some Google search and reading CM forums, it seems like this issue is known and has still not been fixed for over a year now. Although I found the amount of people who have reported on this issue is quite small.
Is anyone else running CM experiencing the same problem?
Does anyone know if the same problem plagues other ROMs as well?
So far i really like CM, and even though I don't use FFC that much I'd still like to have a more stabler ROM (CM would occasionally reboot on me too, and have weird slowdowns and touchscreen issues when charging).

[Semi-Solved] Front Facing Camera Issues

This has become extremely frustrating.
Running CM7 Stable, GoDm0dE 2.6.38.8 Kernel. I have two main problems with the FFC
[1] Using the stock camera app, the entire phone freezes when I try to switch to the FFC, then reboots after half a minute. I searched around and "cleared data" like most other people have suggested, but this appears to only be a temporary fix, as the problem comes back up repeatedly.
[2] The other main camera app I use is Lightbox. When I switch to the FFC on that app one of two things happens: either the same freeze/reboot as above, or the image is vertically flipped. I tried to edit/rotate the flipped image after capturing it, but that has no effect. The "clear data" trick works here as well, but with the same temporary results.
Someone please help. This is extremely frustrating and really cripples one of major uses I have for the phone.
Bump. Really need an answer or at least some advice.
So I've been perusing various forums and such and still haven't found a definite answer. But I may have stumbled on a potential fix, for anyone that's interested. I upgraded to CM7.1 Stable hoping it would resolve the issue. Still no dice. I flashed the MIUI Camera .apk. Still nada. After looking through dozens and dozens of threads, I saw a brief mention about flashing a different kernel to see if that worked. I flashed to Tiamat 4.0.1 and both camera apps are working like a charm (FINGERS CROSSED!). The only problem I'm still running into is that with LightBox, the front-facing pictures are still vertically flipped. I'll likely contact the devs of the app concerning this. I'll update if/when I get that solved. Hope this helps anyone that was having a similar issue.

[Q] Panorama Not Working Properly on Jelly Bean 4.1.1

Has anyone else had issues getting Panorama to work clearly using the stock camera app on Jelly Bean 4.1.1? Over the last week, Panorama has been recording garbled images on two of my devices. I don't believe it has anything to do with the ROMs, but may have been due to one of the Gapps updates from Google Play.
I have 2 GSM Galaxy Nexus phones. One running AndroidME 1.9 Stock Google, the other running AndroidME 1.3 AOSP Light. Both versions run the included kernals and basebands, only the AOSP Light version was flashed with a version of GAPPS allowing for Picasa syncing. Taking panorama photos worked perfectly on both prior to this last week. Movies and regular photos work fine.
I haven't read any issues online similar to mine as of yet.
Thanks.
I have a sporadic issue with panoramas where it won't start capturing. You hit the button, start panning across the scene, and it just won't capture. Sometimes it'll do this over and over several times. Haven't really found a way to replicate it, seems random.
I've been having the same problem.. just noticed it starting about 4-5 days ago. Have been trying to find others experiencing the same thing..glad to see you both are, not so glad that there is a problem though.
BUMP
No one else experiencing this??
Try reflashing the ROM over what you have. I have never heard about this problem before. I believe camera is part of the ROM not gapps.
I'm stock...not rooted... received Jelly Bean OTA on Friday, but actually noticed the issue with my panorama a few hours before it came (hadn't used it for a week or 2 before that so don't know exactly when it started)
Just posted in this thread because it is the only place I could find anyone reporting similar issues...

CM11 video camera crash

Even on the current nightlies, the camera will hang or crash when recording video. Mostly it hangs when you hit stop, but sometimes it will do it while recording. I've seen people say that lowering quality to 720p works, but the problem still persists. I know this has been an issue for a long time, but the only information I can find is years old, so I thought I'd ask if there was any current news on this issue. Is there a patched kernel I should use? Does anyone know what the problem with the camera is?

Camera Apps Issue (Broken ISO)

I'm currently having problems with some camera apps like VivaVideo & MSQRD. It's very dark especially indoors, but not on daylight. I'm assuming it's a problem with ISO on these apps. But the Stock camera app, as well as other apps I've tested are working like camera360 and candycamera.
Im on F400L. Issue started when i flashed to fulmics MM Rom, so I thought it was the ROM. Recently flashed XOSP MM but same issue. Anyone else having same problem? Thanks
I'm experiencing the same issue, did you solve it?

Front Facing Camera Smoothing

I've posted this in the CM13 Thread as well but I decided to post it here since its been happening even on stock rom.
The problem is that my front facing camera is EXTREMELY smoothened. Especially in Video Calls (Skype, Whatsapp, not in Google DUO apparently)
Its been like that even when I was on Stock Rom before changing to CM13. Anyone else encountering/ed this issue?
