Hello, I've bought an used G3. It runs 5.0 and I wanted to upgrade, but I got confused:
In hardware info it displays LG-D855 while on the back when I opened it, it says LS990 multiple times. LG mobile support tool couldn't identify the version and there is no update option in phone menu. Also it runs Montary 8.3 which as I googled is some custom rom.
So... Any ideas?
may be your phone is refurbished
I don't know, the phone is used.
So, as I checked in some program, it's LS990.
Should I risk upgrading?
Your phone is ls990.Your phone is refurbished. You don't install d855 rom .I think install fulmics rom but choose arome installer menĂ¼ ls990.My english is very bad.Sorry

Just update my LG Optimus G Pro F240l (Korea version) to Lollipop 5.01 via LG Mobile Support Tools by installed B2CAppSetup.
Almost installed new firmware F240L30C_00.kdz and was completed bring new Lollipop 5.01. Once optimizing OS completed my LG OG Pro facing problem with NO SIM CARD-Emergency Calls Only appear on screen . Not know understand why facing this issue, by removing Sim card and put properly then restart same there is NO SIM CARD-SERVICE DISABLE.
Not sure whether the issue is Baseband version (my location in Indonesia) because before update the Lollipop still fine.
I have try to hard reset and try to re-flashing the F240L30C_00.kdz using LG Mobile Support Tools 2 times but still facing issue. And try download the Kitkat F240L20h_00.kdz using LG Flash Tool 2014 on process 4% it stop.
Is any method by downgrade the current Lollipop 5,01 to Kitkat for F240L?
I dont want the Lollipop anymore just Kitkat 4.4.2 better. Lollipop 5.01 drain battery faster.

LG Optimus G Pro F240L
Baseband Version : M9615A-CEFWMAZM-3.0.113067

By today, after stuck in boot loop U+ logo screen i have decide to back flash my LG OGP to Lollipop 5.01 F240L30C_00.kdz with wish solve it self. But result installed the OS completed but still No SIM Card.
Re-reply
Hi I took the phone to the android expert in mobile market in my area SADDAR AREA-RAWALPINDI CITY-PAKISTAN. Where he highlighted that the ROM, Baseband and Radios where not compatible as well as my phone had some EEPROM problem as well. So he hooked a small box like USB device and pushed the ROM into it via OTG along with the new stock ROM. Now my phone is working perfectly fine and I am more than happy and thankful to the expert. My current stock ROM is lollipop version: 5.0.1

Hey, friends. How are you all? I have lg g3 d855 (16GB and 2 GB version) in Pakistan. Software version is v20h-Global-SI.
LG PC Suit says that I have new update but due to low internet speed it takes forever to download new version of software which is D85520L.
I installed an app "Lg Phone From" from play store. It also shows new firmware available to download for my LG G3 is "D85520L-00.KDZ". I have downloaded this file.
I want to know a few questions.
Is the file Downloaded from "Lg Phone From" correct? I don't want to brick my phone.
Will I still be able to get OTA or update with LG PC suit after flashing KDZ?
Sorry for these stupid questions. This is my first LG smartphone. Due to alot of variants I am confused. Please guide me in this regard. I will try to explore forum for more help. But your answers can save my time. Thanks
Yes it is the correct file for you and you will still get ota updates.Basically you can flash any kdz from different regions that are for d855.
E.g i was using v20u which was for U.K but my phone was from australia(optus network) and was working fine. Now i'm using a custom rom based on stock.
Aslam O Alaikum Umari bhai.
Thanks for help.. JazakAllah.
I bought my phone and they told me that it was the d855 international 32GB 3GB RAM version, it came and it's currently on Stock 4.4.2 and was already rooted for some reason, I figured that out because there is no Update Software option and because of that I then ran Root Checker and it is indeed rooted.
I bought it planning on installing LineageOS, but I'm unsure if it really is the D855 model, it has 32GB of Storage, it DOES NOT have the antena of the Korean version, in Hardware Settings it says Model LG-D855 and in Software Settings it says Software Version D85510m.
The thing is that when I'm following this guide while I'm running LG UP the program says that my Phone is currently in version ls990zvb, why is that? should i trust LG UP? or should I trust the retailer?, I read that LS990 is a Sprint version and that ls990zvb is Lollipop for those devices, but my phone right now is running 4.4.2 Kitkat, not Lollipop.
I don't want to brick my phone just by installing the wrong KDZ from the incorrect model, and I really don't know which version it truly is, because I read somewhere that they can just edit the name and version that it shows in the Settings but it also doesn't make any sense that LG UP says that I'm running Lollipop while I'm not. I just want to use LineageOS and that's it.
Maybe this will help
Maybe the phone is refurbished and you should get it exchanged from the retailer asap?

I feel like you should trust LGUP, even though it reports the wrong version number. Checking the build.prop file also might help.
While not definitive, you could take off the back cover and look on the left side of the phone. It should have the model number printed there.

Well, my G3 says 'D850' there, but it's really a D852 (found out the hard way, bricked my phone then had to use LGUP), so I'm not sure how accurate the number is (ironically).
Hello!
I've got a little or maybe a big problem with rooting my LG G3. For now i've got android 6.0 Marshallow installed.
I spent on this whole day and I think i tried every possible way.
I tried stump root(i guess it only works for kitkat) , purpledrake root, kingroot..
Moreover I tried to downgrade to android 5.0 but my device is "unknown" for LG UP. Also, I tried LG Lash tool but it returned an error too.
Do you guys know any other way to root this device? Thanks in advance ;c
I got the same problem.
Hi! Sorry that I'm responding so late. I found that i had the problem with downgrading becouse of wrong LGUP zip.
I found correct one here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81kb6fqHxUo&list=LLF_c9VT9RRrxMaH_s9qwFWQ&index=1&t=283s in video description.
Now with LP installed root should be possible.
Hello,
Today I bought a G3. Was working but the SIM card was not working, the Bluetooth was not working and the wifi was not working.
The information on the about phone section were... LG G3... 32Gb storage Android 6 security patch 2016 I can't remember what month.
I did a few factory resets as I red that I might help.
Did not.
Phone not rooted. No custom recovery.
So I made a great mistake.
Decided to flash a factory image using the TOT method. Downloaded the D855 Europe version or international...
Did not work. Got a message something about wrong model version.
So I tried the kdz method.
Now it's bootlooping.
Now back to the question: how can I find the real version of my phone?
I searched the imei... I got D855 but no version. I mean it said it had 2Gb of RAM and 32Gb of storage.
I would like to reflash the phone (want to create a car dash cam) so I don't really need wifi, data or Bluetooth.
Does someone know a way to determine the right install number. Or if the phone is fake...
The only version of g3 i know to have 2gb ram and 32gb of storage is the g3 isai in Japan

Surefire way is to take apart and look at motherboard
@DTTR, as mentioned, the only version with 2GB/32GB was the LG Isai. Released just before the G3. There's different models of that. VL with 3/32 and the FL with 2/32. Both are GSM. Appearance-wise the bottom looks a little different (if the front hasn't been replaced).
If that is what it is I don't know anything about FW/ROM availability.
This page seems to have the best spec sheet.
