Boot Verification Failed - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all, I really have no knowledge when it comes to phones, so any help would be appreciated.
I have been trying to root my LG G3 for a few days now, but it just wont happen. I have tried PurpleDrake and ioroot and end up with the same error every time whilst the phone is restarting. As the screen is black and attempts to boot, in the top right of the screen, the message "Verification boot failed! cause- MISMATCH_SIG_LEN" and then the phone will just go to a black screen while the LED alternates blue and red. This also happens when I try to enter stock recovery. I know I have the latest ADB drivers installed and the right drivers for my phone, so that can't be it. My G3 is a D852 with SV 30b on Marshmallow, my carrier is Bell. Thanks.

If you able to do that than you can flash your phone again.....for more clarify you have to install your phone software again to solve this issue also you cant flash v30b again right now you have to flash any other version to boot up your phone.

Ah, sorry for the confusion, but my phone starts just fine. I should have clarified in the original question that i can just hold the power button and volume down button and my phone will restart like nothing happened. Its only when root programs try to reboot into recovery and when I try to do it manually. Again, sorry about that

Look here you get more info

And that's where I get confused, because when I look up how to get twrp, I am told I need root first. I have temp rooted before and used flashify to try and flash a twrp but then on reboot I would get the error.

Use autorec not flashify.....but be sure you install autorec for mm version also for d852.....go to this page you will get all your file http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/canadian-d852-stock-bumped-rooted-rom-t3056843

Thanks a lot for your help Anik! I can be really dumb sometimes and the fact that I can't think straight at the moment doesn't help. Seems like the main problem would be is that I was downloading Autorec of the play store, which is for lollipop. Should have seen that coming with the logo... Again, thanks!

[Q] [LG G3 F400S] Can't boot anything

Hi Guys!
Today I was getting to rooting the device, until I ran into a problem
I accidentally flashed Android KK aboot and the rest on Android L versions.
The result was inability to boot ANYTHING (System/Download/Recovery)
It also showed an error message saying to following
ERROR : boot certification verify
[630]-----------------------------------------------
[630]
[630] Secure booting Error!
[630] Cause : boot certification verify
[630]
[630]-----------------------------------------------
Shortly following that is a black screen with red and blue flashing LED. (Vol. Down leads to restart and Vol.Up seems to stop the flashing, however still on black screen)
Is it possible for me to get out of this problem? Or have I hard bricked my phone?
Its bricked, there is a version mismatch between your android bootloader and your phone's bootloader meaning that it prevents you from going into download or recovery mode

I HAVE YOUR SOLUTION flash this patched boot img which is used for phones when you downgrade the aboot and laf to kk to get twrp working http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/orig-development/recovery-twrp-touch-recovery-2-8-2-0-t2966129

Also ever since i flashed twrp on mine, whenever i click reboot my phone doesn't reboot and i just get a black screen with no led and i have to remove the battery for it to boot again. I'm not sure if this will work in your situation but it couldn't hurt to try

First, what rom did you flash and how did you flash it?
Try this as well:
Pull the battery, press the power button for a few seconds. Put the battery back in and press the power button again. Pop the battery out a 2nd time and then put it back in. See if it turns on.
If that doesn't work, pull the battery and hook the phone up (without the battery) to a computer and again see if it turns on and shows up in device manager.
Flashing the wrong rom should only result in a non-booting situation. If you have a custom recovery installed, you should be able to still get into that. The d850 has some serious issues with successfully rebooting in general (which can be resolved by the two suggested procedures above), so I would suspect that before worrying about a brick.
Lastly, the d850 requires bumped ROMs to get by the locked bootloader. The d851 (T-Mobile version) does not have a locked bootloader, so the roms are not bumped and will of course fail to boot.
Once you get back into recovery, just wipe all partitions except for internal storage/sd card and install a correct rom.

When you say you got the phone on, what do you mean?
If it is on and showing up as a phone in Windows, why not just use the LG recovery tool and flash back to stock, then start over?

Can someone please help me

I was trying to update my phone and something most likely went wrong. Then the update installed and screwed up my phone. When I turned it on it stayed on the startup for so long. I tried to clear cache through the bootloader, but now it shows the android screen of death except it flashes. This occurs even outside the bootloader.
I am rooted with stock os.
Thanks in advance to whoever helps

Hey, thanks for the response.
Could you please elaborate on how I would do this. Because I do not understand how to do this if the bootloader doesn't work.
Thanks, your response and input means alot
Take the firmware from Asus website, for me I took UL-Z00A-WW-2.19.40.22-user.zip
Boot the phone in bootloader and try to go in the recovery screen, it took me a lot of tries to get in it!!!
From here you can select "insall update from ADB"
From your PC you do a "adb sideload UL-Z00A-WW-2.19.40.22-user.zip"

That's normal. When you get the error sign when booting into stock recovery, hold power down and press volume up and quickly release both buttons at the same time. If done correctly recovery menu will pop up and then you can start actually flashing.
Flashing
does this still work if the screen is flashing, because I tried before and it did not work, maybe I pressed it wrong or there is some other issue.
Thanks

Rooting problem...bricked?

Hi,
Sorry if this is in the wrong place.
I literally just got a G3 D855 and tried to root it using One Click Root. I followed all of the steps and after having to manually boot into download mode, it said that it had completed the process and had rooted successfully and the phone restarted.
I now cannot get past the LG logo. I have tried factory resetting as I can access that menu, and I can only access download mode if I plug the phone into my computer whilst holding volume up.
I don't really know how this happened. If anyone has any advice, please send it my way.
I have tried battery pulls etc.
Thank you.

Bricked!

I have a unlocked bootloader EVR-AL00 that has been bricked for awhile now. TWRP is stuck on load screen on erecovery and recovery. I have tried everything to get it to work. I can get to the bootloader screen and flash from Hstool, Funkyhuawei, ADB and Hisuite but it always goes back to the TWRP load screen and stays there. TWRP crashed on me back then and now it seems EMUI is gone forever. Any new tricks out there that might work? Please help if you can! Thank you!

That doesn't work either
There is only one wat I came back from the TWRP cycle of death.
I followed the steps for the side load in the OP of this thread. The bottom of the first post.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-20-x/how-to/fw-emui-9-1-0-123-evr-al00-t3935995
The update is listed and can be renamed (I used the 123 update_full_base.zip)
The nocheck.img was a challenge, but I found one in a TWRP backup I had done and save off. Doing a search of XDA later I see that there is also versions in the Mate 20 pro and Mate 10 forums.
Now I have a normal eRecovery, but I cannot obtain root and the recovery StockAL00, magiskAL00 amd newer images changed in bootloader don't seem to make a difference.

Damn, that's worse than I had it. I don't know if there is a way to HStool or modified HiSuite take a ROM update, which would return you to regular eRecovery.
I'm hoping that can work if you can Fastboot from bootloader through those steps or HiSuite recovery.
With my crazy sideload I cannot root, I get prompted for updates constantly (with updates set off) and HStool & HiSuite didn't work. Since I don't have root cannot do ENMUI flasher.

I spent some time in pm trying to help him but the phone still won't do what it's supposed to. I think he needs to do a data format but he can't get into twrp to do it and Huawei blocks a lot of adb commands.
