Help With HTC ONE M8 (UK Vodafone) Reverting Back To Stock From Skydragon - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Xda'ers!
I am in need of help with my HTC one M8!(UK Vodafone)
i thought it would be a good idea rooting and installing a custom ROM (skydragon)
i used the "m8 toolkit" to get it up and running
but now i need to revert it back to stock and guess what?!
i didnt back up before i installed the custom rom !
can anyone please help me i was running 6.0 with sense 7 before i messed it up and want it to get all the OTA updates like it did before
please help :crying:

Go to this thread.
Read the instructions in the first post, then flash the stock ROM backup for Vodafone from the second post (or the third post if you are already on Marshmallow, which I think you are not) and stock recovery for Vodafone that is provided in the fourth post.

You are the man ! Worked a treat! Thanks!!

New HTC Desire help needed...

Hi there!
I am all new to the android world and a proud owner of a HTC Desire.
I have a branded (vodafone) version with bootloader 0.93.0001, SLCD and android 2.2 with all Updates installed.
I would like to unbrand, root and install the MIUI Rom on my Desire.
I read through guides and stuff and they unsettled me.
There often are hints which say things like: not with new HTC OTA, bootloader xx, SLCD Screen and so on.
So... above I already stated what I would like to do with my Desire.
First of all is it possible? ^^
Seconded, would someone tell me what guides (and pls in what order!!) I have to follow?
I would be very thankful in advance.
Have a nice christmas everyone.
regards

Before rooting, it's a good idea to save the stock ROM you are running right now, so in case of emergency, you can revert to it and send it to the repair service.
From what you say, I assume you are running 2.33.161.2 Vodafone rom, here is the RUU.exe for that version.
You cannot unbrand your phone, but can get rid of the vodafone adware (debrand) by installing a WWE ROM or a MIUI custom rom, as you said you would like.
To install a custom rom you'll have too use unrevoked in order to get root (SU) and a custom recovery, from the latter you can flash custom ROMs.
The most newbie friendly guide in my view is turkey's one.
You must not forget that we, also wish you a Merry Christmass.
Hi again!
Thanks for that Link, it is really helpful.
I have just one Question left:
Won't I need a goldcard?
Because in this guide there is nothing said about a goldcard, but in other tutorials I read that it is needed it to flash, root etc.
So according to the tut you posted above, I guess I dont need a goldcard, right?
regards
You will need a gold card to flash an official WWE ROM, but you do not need a goldcard to flash the RUU I have linked or the MIUI (because it's a custom, not an official rom by a carrier or htc).
Unrevoked doesn't require a goldcard neither.
Thanks again for your help.
I managed to successfully install the gMIUI ROM I found in this Thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=885844
But now my light sensor doesn't work! As well as torchlight.
How can I fix this?
+ I think that ROM is really unstable it already rebooted itself 2 times?
Sometimes it just reboots when starting an application?
EDIT: this really sucks. is MIUI really that bad?
Is MIUI in general rather unstable? Or did I do simething wrong/is there a more stable version of it?
(BTW: I choose Pays gMIUI because I wanted to have german language)
regards
Haven't tried Pay's MIUI, but the english version is solid.
You can download it from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9932492&postcount=4070
And then download a german language pack from here http://forums.miui-dev.com/showthre...UI-0.12.18-%28N1-Desire%29-Pack-3-verf%FCgbar
Can't tell you info or instructions on that because it's in ... german .

[Q] Unroot methode DZ without T-mobile stock rom

Hi everyone!
First of all thanks to all the contributers to this forum. It really is a humongous bible of information!
To dive right in: I have a HTC desire Z phone and I've had it rooted for a while but I am wanting to unroot it and get it back to stock (like how it was before I started). The problem is the thread I found on doing this is for the T-mobile ROM (G2 version) and not for the 1.34 version that I initially had before I rooted (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835971). I looked everywhere on the dev forum but everyone seems to have the t-mob version. My question is, can anyone tell me what I have to change in this guide to go back to 1.34?
The Remove permanent root topic for G2 has 2 steps:
1. The stock rooted pre-OTA, Can I just flash the PC10IMG.zip from 1.34 instead of the tmous one?
2. The stock factory bootloader/etc. download link on the topic is again for the the tmobile G2. Where can I find the recovery image for 1.34 (European DZ)?
Finally, when I change the version number with the hex editor; do I simply change that to 1.34..... instead of the 1.19 in the Tutorial?
Any help would be much appreciated =)
Cheers!

[Q] Revert from Viper custom ROM to latest OTA HTC Sense

Hi all,
I'm sure this information is on this forum somewhere but I am having difficulty in extracting what I need and dont want to bork my phone!
I have been using the Viper ROM for about a year now but I want to go back to the standard HTC sense rom now that its been in the wold for a while with lolipop.
Can anyone help or point me to a guide that is relevent for this situation..? It is (was) not a GPE edition but is locked to EE in the UK.
Thanks

HTC One M8 EU return to stock (S-ON)

So hi guys,
I recently bought a HTC One M8 (european version: CID = E11). Apparently, there is a custom recovery installed and the Android OS is giving weird errors. So what i want to do is revert to completely stock (stock sense firmware and recovery). Only problem is that i'm on S-ON; bootloader is unlocked.
I tried to view many topics about this, but i still don't understand how to do this.
So at the moment the latest Sense software is installed (Android 6.0).
If i follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/general/guide-restore-european-htc-one-m8-to-t3072235 will that do the trick? I have some reservations about this because of the older RUU that is used in the guide.
How can help me out?
Thanks!

if you have a custom recovery just install a custom rom. its easier for you. if your problem is rom related it can be solved like this. go search on the rom department .http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/development
Remenber to read and understand what you read before doing it

M8s CM -> Stock questions.

Hi.
I'm proud owner of M8s (Vodafone locked)
I would like to ask how to get back to stock rom from TWRP and CM 12.1.
Can anybody give me any tips about it?
Thanks in advance
@Kerronez,
you need a signed RUU by Vodafone & the Stock recovery for your device.
Have you in the (M8s) General section already looking for it or need you a Step by Step Guide, mate?
Kind regards,
