I've been trying to figure this out but can't seem to turn split screen on nor can I find anything online. Hoping someone here can shed some light. Can the HTC 10 perform in split screen mode?

Split screen (multi window) will be added in Android N. Unless you mean screen casting, which is done in settings HTC Connect.

Cool thanks, same firmware version as me. Just noticed I've missed lots of updates....Leedroid moves so quick. Updating now.
Updated and I have option now.
I know I'm bumping an old thread but it's possible on stock ROM as long as you're rooted.
Set system partition r/w in twrp or via adb.
Edit the build.prop line:
ro.build.type=userdebug
(old value =user)
Then goto "settings>developer options>advanced" and check the "multi-window mode"

Glad you did! Works fine on S-OFF/Rooted Verizon running Viper 2.8. Actually just used Root Explorer and navigated to build prop in system/customize and edited that line then rebooted. Profit!

Frankly you probobly shouldn't mess with your build.prop if you don't already know the basics. You could easily bork your phone.
I'd spend some time searching the forums and learning before you try editing the prop.
Best of luck to you.
I just installed leedroid and multi window was available in the developer options (I didnt make any changes build prop). I have it selected but it doesn't seem to be working. In the recent apps menu it has the segmented box on each recent app (which i think means the multi window selector) but when i tap it it does nothing. I cant figure out how to multi window. Any help?

Hi,
Is there any way to turn this off?
I know on a rooted HTC One you can by going into an xml file and setting "devicepolicy_max_fail_passwords_for_wipe = 0".
So is there something in the framework or an XML somewhere that will allow us to do the same?
I have my phone setup so if it's locked you can't power it down.
This 10 attempt feature is stupid because someone can maliciously or accidentally reset your phone.

Has absolutely nothing to do with Mcafee.
This is baked into the lock screen application.
Mcafee is not a device administrator on the device and it's rooted.
The standard lock screen application will wipe the phone after 10 incorrect password entries.
I don't want it to do that, but I still want to lock the phone.
The answer to my question is a possibly a file somewhere that stores the information or it will need to be in the form of a module loaded into the Xposed Installer.

It's not a Verizon issue.
Almost every phone now running KitKat has the same issue. The HTC One (M7/M8) have the same issue but there is a work around if you are rooted.
I thought someone in the general LG G3 forums might have an answer.
Anyway...........................................

Do you have twrp installed?
After a few twrp complications, I got it installed. Knock now only works VERY randomly, and when it does I have to knock on the screen about 4-5 times. Is this not happening to u? Any other suggestions. . . . . anyone?
You downloaded and installed the service menu from Team Derps ROM thread? I installed that and was able to update the touch firmware. Knock on worked perfect after that.

Is it the power menu app that's listed? [update] So I downloaded then installed hidden menu .apk and still nothing. Am I doing something wrong?
I'm in the same boat installed the menu and used the dialer code but the menu does not have the touch update.
Update. I had to delete the hidden menu apk from the system/app folder then flash it for it to work.

It gets deactivated by the csc file settings. If you are rooted you can edit your carrier settings to enable it. Problem is finding the right file and right settings to do so. I've been playing around with both stock and unlocked firmware trying to figure out how to enable smartcall and samsung cloud apps. If i figure it out I'll let you know.
Please do, thank you

That's been deprecated with Android 12. And even before thst, many apps prevented adb from backing up their data. The only way I know of to get a full backup is with root.
Honestly, I've yet to find a way to get the data backed up without rooting. Given that almost all my apps either export a file to use as a backup, or I don't actually need a backup. But if you do, you might want to wait for the official update.

future updates from Samsung aren't going to make more
things possible, the trend is that they make less things possible.
