There doesn't seem to be a task manager like there was on my m8. Anyone find an alternative?
Through developer options. Just press build number multiple time. It's inside developer options.

totally blown away by my desire, although, I still need to tick one more box.
I use my calendar a lot and utilise the busy/free option on windows mobile to mark entries as done. this functionality exists on google calendar but not on the android calendar.
can anyone offer any advice or suggest an alternative calendar that provides this ?

Try pure calendar grid. I use that. Maybe email the developer first. He gets back in good time.
thanks, given that a go but its just a widget that links into the existing calendar.
any other ideas ?

But it links to google calander.
yep, not disputing that. just need this one bit of functionality.
thought it would be widely used in android as its a standard part of google calendar itself.
just can't find the ability to use it on any apps.

Give the guy an email, maybe he can help.
I too have the same issue. I sync with Exchange via Activesync and it doesn't honour the free/busy option.
I use Vibrate During Meetings (VDM) which sets your phone onto vibrate during meetings. This has an option to only do this for appointments marked as "busy", but since the Desire calendar doesn't honour this setting it's no good to me.
I am on call for a week at a time, so put an appointment in my calendar for on call which is marked in Exchange as free. Unfortunately since the free setting doesn't propagate to the phone (by either HTC Sync or Activesync) the phone puts itself on vibrate for a week at a time.
I'd be interested in a solution if anyone finds one.
agreed.
can't believe that this functionality hasn't been considered in the android calendars.
this is probably not an issue to a lot of people but its key to my phone usage, especially after coming from winmob where this had been standard for years.

Hi there!
I don't use fb, so I have disabled all related apps. But when I check the taskmanager, there is "facebook for HTC Sense" always listed. I don't want to have facebook running on my phone, so, how can I get rid of it?
Thank you for your help!
Dello

Go into settings, then apps, click on all, go down to facebook for sense, then disable .

That's what I've already done, as I wrote before. It won't stop running
Sucks it can't be deleted. Only the updates and its annoying that the update keeps popping up.

So when I was looking at the settings for google now, there's a setting called tablet search which is a select list of your apps that google now presumably uses in order to answer your question to the best of it's ability. You can enable or disable whether or not google uses that app to give you an answer.
My question to you is do you know of any additional apps that will appear on the tablet search menu?
I haven't done much searching but I downloaded the IMDB app and it showed up on the list, and I enabled it.
Thank you,

Title says all.... How do you check the history in the Sense 4 calculator app? Holding clear says History Deleted, but I find no way to get to the history in the first place.

I give up on this. I looked at the HTC One S and X today and still coukdnt find a way to get into it..... :mind****ed:

Because there is no history feature for the stock calculator app for Sense 4.0 and up.
I never see one for Sense 3.6 & 3.5 too.
That's ridiculous to say Calculator History Cleared if you can't check it. In ICS/JB, I noticed you can just drag the box where the numbers go for it.

Hi
I keep triggering google now from marshmallow navigation. Is there a way to stop it and assign another app in place of it?

Found the solution. Go to Settings -> Apps -> Default Apps -> Assist and Voice Input -> Assist App
And change it the app of your liking.
