Blue Tooth Remote????????

My lad has a sony ericson K750i and he has a built in app that means he can connect to the home PC and use the phone as a remote for a number of PC based apps such as media player, the desk top etc..
Has any one seen anything like this for the Orbit?

Under Windows Mobile 6 you can use Remote Desktop Service to Remote Control your PC, with Windows Mobile 5 it is Terminal Services i think. Other software, for example Remote Amp, lets you Remote Control Mediaplayers like iTunes or Winamp, so Yes, there is Software like that, and i dare to say, that these programs are much more powerful than the Sony Ericson thing is

I use tightvnc on my desktop computer and pocket vnc viewer on my pda. You simply need to install tightvnc on your computer, set up a password and set up my firewall to let me get in.
I use another tool to use wake on lan, with this I can even turn on my computer (need to be enabled in bios) when I'm in range and then access it. There are a few versions out there, check out the big freeware pages, you will find it. It's like you are using your computer yourself, everything can be controlled.

Just done a bit of digging on this and found it is in the WM6 Pro version but not in the standard version. Does anyone know if this can be retro installed on a standard version ?

I installed it on my device, I didn't try to get a connection but the application starts up. I still prefer other clients, that's why I didn't try to establish a connection. I found the cab somewhere in another forum, I think it was Wizard or Hermes forum in one of those "kitchen"-threads.

BT Remote on k750i uses Bluetooth HID Profile and acts as virtual keyboard. It has nothing to do with Remote Desktop and is much less battery expensive than it.

Yes I was looking for something really simple like a touch screen, play, rewind, fast forward etc etc for media player.....
I'm just being cheap really I do not want to spend money on a PC remote control!!!!

There is an application that does it very well!!

There`s an application called "NET SUPPORT CONTROL" that makes magic.You can command everything of your pc from your phone or rather control your phone from your pc.

Salling Clicker ?
But Netsupport is something similar to VNC, but more options and it isn't free. imo Netsupport is a nice tool for a company that needs
remote controlling all the devices. we also use it in our company to support our clients.
I think he's searching something like Salling Clicker ?

I use LogMeIn FREE version, and it works perfectly through WI-FI or GPRS. It works with Both Macs and PC's. I use it on Windows XP and Vista Machines and can tell you it works great! Small screen, but works in a pinch when you are away from home and need something important on your home computer.
It also allows remote control from PC's to PC's. As far as I can tell, it allows unlimited clients on the Free Version, but I may be wrong there. I have about 10 client computers in my account, and can access them any time I need.

There is also Remote Control Software from Microsoft that I've tried a few times, but not nearly as easy to set up in my oppinion.
And there is the VNC method, which works fairly well, but again, not nearly as easy to setup.

I know that Novii Remote does this, but the IR in our Trinity's is not very powerful, so you have to be really, REALLY close to your TV for it to work. There might be other software, but I've tried this one.

Hi Guys!
A friend of mine has a Nokia cellphone that is connected trough bleutooth with his laptop. When he wants to sent a SMS, he simply uses the software on his laptop to quickly sent these messages. Also when he has an incoming call, a small pop-up windows appears at the bottem of his laptopscreen with the caller ID.
Is there a software that can do this for the HD?

But I think the threadstarter, quoting Nokia Comms Suite, is more interested in software with very similar features, and at that MDesktop excels. The other two allow you to send and receive SMS in a UI similar to Outlook Express resp. from inside Outlook 2007.

I came across TrueConnect from Raspberry Soft...
bot not sure about the name of the prog cos i didn't use it for long...
this basicly allows you to control your HD from desktop with your mouse and keyboard when you move your mouse to the edge of the screen - then the cursor appears on your device and you are good to go it is funny, you can customize which edge to cross to get to device (top, left, right)...
As far as I remember, you can even switch the program to display your HD's screen on your laptop's screen and control it from there.
So I guess it is cool - BTW google it...you should find it real quick.

I use remote desktop from my tilt2 to manage a data center.
I have several annoying issues. I would like to know if any of you have a solution for:
1) I need to ability to /admin or /console into the server.
2) ZOOM into the remote desktop session.
3) Switch to landscape and portrait while maintaining screen ratio.
A freakin Iphone can do this. It can't be that difficult to get this to work on windows mobile 6.5. Does anyone know how to modify the remote desktop client to achieve this? Or write a new remote desktop client?
Using another solution that requires an agent to be installed on the server is not an option. Also, using shadow is not an option.

Though it isn't related to remote desktop mobile, if you can SSH in to your data center, you could always try pocket puTTY.

Like I said I don't want to install anything on my servers. I want to use the built in remote desktop solution on the windows server on port 3389.
This currently works I just can't zoom in from my tilt2, and can't connect to console session. Also no ability to save connections as "favorites". Very limited RDP client. Seems someone would have developed a custom RDP client for WINMO since RDP is the #1 method for maintaining a windows infrastructure.

Open remote desktop, make your connection, then on the server run tscon.exe 0. This will connect you to the console session.
I typically start my rdp sessions with the keyboard slid out, so that I can use it for logins and so I can put my device down while I am working and still see the session. So I have not flipped back and forth.
What would be even more useful is if I could get a bt mouse/keyboard to work with the Tilt2....still searching for that fix. RDP without a mouse is a bit of a bummer.

You could try Bluemouse. It's a program which allows HID compliant bluetooth mice and keyboards to work on your device. But use the trial before you buy it, since I'm not sure it'll work due to the Widcomm bluetooth stack used by the TP2.

bump this, Is there a way to get the slider bar to zoom in and out of a RDP connection. Also, people are saying to pay for VNC, is VNC better does it support zooming with the zoom bar or does it support zooming in general. My desktops resolution is 1920x1080. I had a app on the iphone called jaadu and it worked perfectly with ultra vnc. It supported zooming and panning.

Remote Desktop
All we need to fix the Remote Desktop problem on the Tilt2 is for someone to modify the zoom slider so that it zooms not only on web or photos but on Remote Desktop as well. Should be simple!

I use RealVNC, which is great, but I saw another VNC program that allows drag scrolling (instead of scrollbars) to view the rest of the screen. I'll look up what program that was.
In the meantime, watch this YouTube video of Remote Desktop on the HD2. It looks very nice!! But I wonder if it is a feature of Windows 7 that has that interface, or a new RD app. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFiDZ_wBAtM

Very nice! Exactly what I am looking for except I don;t have an HD2. I have a Tilt2. There has to be a way to make that work with the Tilt2 using scroll bars instead of the "pinch to zoom"

Right, exactly what I love about it! I have a Touch Pro 2 (same as you, but on Verizon), and although we don't have multi-touch, the scrollbars would be great.

I was looking for this exact thing. Zooming with the zoom bar would be fantastic.
Also, does anyone know if I can connect using L2TP on the default client?

Has anybody tried the HD2 version of Remote Desktop to see how it behaves?

Here is a copy of Remote Desktop Mobile from LEO ROM 1.48.405.2 (WWE). I don't know if this is the one with 'pinch to zoom' or not.
It is in OEM format copied from \SYS\.

Its not working. I looking for the same solution with a small navigation window :/ and cant find any. Someone know from where we can get the same Remote Desktop Control with small navigation window ?

Windows 10 on RPi 2

I decided to start a new topic 'cause previous one was a complete mess.
So, finally I ran Windows 10 on my RPi 2 and was really excited by the job that MS did for this low cost computer. It was a really easy to run your UWP app on RPi with a little changes; now I'm trying to run my "DOSBox" app on this computer (but DOSBox isn't a simple and straight UWP app, some difficulties still exists).
I still have no idea about practical implementation of the RPi-based Windows 10 computer but, I believe so, it should exist (BTW, I do have very good sample of practical usage of RPi - my another one - it run self-moving web camera (former robot app ), it controlling my X10 lights and switches via web interface (yes, I do have Apache server running on this RPi), this RPi also serving my huge OPDS library.
By the way, it's a really cheap and exciting gadget (you can get it for about $22 on eBay), and the "Last of the Mohicans" UWP developers definitely should take a look to this gadget and platform! Fun guaranteed!

Great project i have about 50 low performance laptops and mini laptops its so good for them

@augustinionut, yeah, Cortana is cool but you can do this on your handset (never tried but it should work, I believe so). I'm thinking about RPi specific scenario. Yes, I can make a blinking LEDs, it's fun but not very practical
@Ferrybigger, I can try. But I'm unsure about overall performance; it looks like RPi CPU is less powerful than L-950 (and has less memory).
P.S. I also ordered this LCD TFT touch screen on AliExpress, it will add more fun for development

Only that hey cortana dont work on lumia 640xl, and my media bluetooth button dont have win+c command.
I need an app in the background to launch listening cortana.
I found something equivalent: snowwy.

Tried to rebuild and run ppsspp: no luck at all, always getting error 0x800402200 before app's code get execution.

I prefer using Linux for such devices. It's lightweight and flexible. It's easy to use: you can draw on any display with just Bitmap and FileStream. LOTS of drivers! LOTS of programs.
Win10 IOT is not on the same level yet. But it will be someday.
P.S. RPi hardware is garbage.

Yeah, Raspbian is pretty stable and with some configuration tricks (to reduce file I/O access on sd-card) it can work seamlessly for a years (as mine), even with Apache server running on it.
However here I'm talking from the UWP developer position: ability to run your existing UWP app on the extremity low cost (mine costs me $22), portable computer is cool, I believe so.
I can't compare development difficulties for UWP and Linux but some MS public APIs are still ... maybe, not unique but really good, such as map services, easy integration with Azure, speech API and many more. Of course you can find similar packages on Linux but with UWP you already have it out of the box.
P.S. I'm still thinking about "real life" implementation of RPi with W10 but can't find any...

Windows 10 iot core is the os that runs on the raspberry pi. It started out with windows on devices edition on the intel galileo (x86) (2013). The windows on devices edition was probably microsoft's smallest os since windows 95 (only 185mb). The windows iot os has come a long way since then as they have been refactoring the os to include more and more of the apis windows developers know. You can use gdi to paint windows on raspberry pi, and i think directdraw (but have not tried it myself). Porting apps to windows iot core is difficult, but using the remote debugger you can see apis that fail because they aren't included. Once you get around the missing apis issue, you can easily create apps that work directly with hardware, which is something thag's always been difficult with windows ( you used to have to buy a development board ). Using visual c++ to remotely debug drivers is really convenient, as windbg is too difficult.
