HELP! Note 2 stuck in Factory mode. Can't clear it. - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

I had a battery issue with my old Note2 and, before I realized it was the battery, I'd wiped the phone and returned it to new. I don't use it for anything more than a PDA and Media controller since I've upgraded to newer phones but I use it A Lot around the house and depend on it about as much as my Note 5
Anyway, I've got it rooted, I went to the EFS folders and the Factory Mode is ON the KeyStr is ON but, every time I reboot the phone, I still get that overlay screen and notice. I can turn WiFi on after the phone boots back up and I can get the Factory mode to go away by going to Settings> More> Application manager> ALL> factory Test and clearing the data. This is a temporary fix. After I reboot, I get the screen again.
Also, when I go to the All area and scroll to Factory, I see 2 Factory Mode icons. One is 84KB the other is 560KB.
Is there something else I need to do in order to reset this phone so I can get rid of the Factory Mode screen? I rellay need to get this PDA back up and running again.
Thank You in advance.

Do you have a custom recovery or can you get to download mode?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using XDA-Developers mobile app

No. No Custom Recovery. I can get into recovery mode. I found a website awhile back during my searches that had the Sprint .tar file and I tried to reinstall it via Odin but after the install, I still get the screen.
I don't know if I did something wrong during the install or if there is just something wrong with either the software or, could there be a hardware glitch that could be causing this? I really haven't done much rooting and customizing of my cell phones and such over the years so I've been kind of crash coursing myself on how to do it. I build computers and work with electronics as a hobby on the side but I've just never really done much with the smaller devices.
I appreciate any insight.
Thanks

Can you get into recovery mode (power home volume down). If so you could reformat and go back completely to stock using Odin. I'll post a link in a few to stock firmware

Thank You.
I am trying that version of the OS now and will let you know if that fixes it. It is downloading into the phone now.
Edit:
Downloaded, Installed, Rebooted automatically through Odin and it still came up with the Factory Mode screen.
Something it hasn't ever done before, after I connected it to my network, it recognized a need to download and install another System update.

Still no luck. After booting up, I still have the Factory Mode Screen on.
I can still get it to turn off while on by going through the App Manager and force stopping the Factory Mode and Factory Test apps and that stops the screen from coming back on.
The only other issue I have is the occasional request to activate that phone.
It just seems very odd that this issue has been so hard to repair.
Thank You again for your assitance. I appreciate it.

Odin Mode?

Hi I have a purely stock intl Galaxy Nexus, I believe it is the Yakajxw version. This morning I went to my messages app and it loaded up the Flickr App instead. When I hit back it constanly went to some other app. So I powered down my phone and powered it back up and now its in Oden Mode showing a "Downloading.. Do not turn of target!!"
Is this a simple update and Im fine or is it somehow 'bricked'? Any way of fixing this? I have no knowledge of android phones and its a very important weekend for me, cant go without the phone!!
Thanks!
Mine did this once also. Use your volume controls until it says start. Then press the power button. Booted up just fine for me.
I'm also completely stock, unrooted, locked boot loader. I haven't had the desire to mod yet. I was on WP7 for 18 months and just recently came back to Android. I'm enjoying the stock experience so far. Modifications will come soon enough.

ODIN is a method of flashing factory images.
It really isn't downloading anything (not exactly sure why it would say that...dumb.)
You PROBABLY held volume- while booting.
This will put you in odin.
You can just boot up...you haven't changed/hurt anything.

If it's taking you directly to that screen, your bootloader got corrupt somehow. Follow the instructions in this thread to re-set-up your device.

I believe that it is called download mode because that is what it is doing: odin downloads the partition images to the device.

[Q] Stuck on boot after unroot

Sorry for posting a new thread but I want to make sure I am heading in the right direction. I bought a Galaxy S3 yesterday that was rooted. I want to put it back to stock ROM. I downloaded Odin and the ATT Stock ROM's. Everything went ok and passed without fail, but my phone is stuck on boot. Googling around I found a how to where I could run CWM Recovery, but it seems like this is for rooted devices stuck at boot. I am looking to go back to stock. Will this work or is there something else I am missing? Thanks and I will begin searching on the forum for help.
Edit: My phone does go into dowload mode.

Heres how to restore to stock: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypmqJbZqOaU
If you wanna root it again like a boss heres the link for that too:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoEVDgjTTdg
Great. Thanks for that link. I actually found that video and was looking for the drivers. I noticed the one he linked if for Sprint. My phone is ATT though. I clicked on the ATT link a little further down in his description where it says AT&T USA. I am assuming this is the correct file to install right? Now is that the TAR file or the drivers? He didnt post an AT&T link for one of those.

It wont let me get into factory reset either. I hold power up, power and home and it goes to...
Firmware upgrade encountered and issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again. I cant get into Kies because Kies doesnt connect to the device
Ok I followed QBkings video and everything worked fine and passed but I am still stuck on the Samsung screen. I know he mentioned factory reset but he did it once he was already into the actual phone. Mine wont get in.
You guys are all beasts! Thanks a million for the help. Factory reset finally worked! My phone didnt reset by itself though.
Well I see you must have been able to fix your phone!
It must be like the Atrix 2, but instead of FXZ restoration w/ RSD Lite, you use TAR files and Odin

Boot into recovery. Vol up + home + power. When your device vibrates and you see the blue text in the top left corner of the screen, release just the power button.
Wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache

Okay I guess I'll be the first to post.
About an hour ago my phone shut off at 26% battery (16gb galaxy S3 running CM10.1 nightly 01/16). As I went to turn it back on it will boot into the CM splash screen spin a few times and just shut off. I attempted to charge it, and turn it back on but same thing. After that an attempt to get into CWM, which I was able to get in and it shut off while I was in it. I also tried putting the phone in download mode and about the same time frame it took for the other attempts resulted in a shut down.
Any advice? Or am I stuck doing a warranty exchange?

Sounds like its your battery not a hardware problem. Leave it overnight or a couple hours charging and if it indeed boots up its your battery.
If it doesn't then flash stock and test it if the same result then call up that Warranty. I've seen this same issue with other devices where the battery dies at 50%+ and usually replacing the battery fixes the problem. Test your battery for overheating or swollen.

Even better then lol just test it out at work. I'm about 80% its your battery specially if you OV/UC.
I have the t-mobile US t999.
Last night I was having an odd issue with the networking dropping. I've had the phone for about a month, modded since day 1 with a CM10 variation of a rom (sorry, I forget the exact rom). I had no issues whatsoever up until this point. After a few restarts thinking maybe it was a fluke issue with the network, or network signal in my room, the phone forced itself into emergency call mode only. I couldn't get it to come out.
So I decided I was going to odin on a stock rom as I could get it into download mode, that went through successfully. When the phone boots, I get the android taking off (Tmobile 4g) logo. Then the white samsung logo, and it doesn't go beyond this. I know this can take long so I left it there for about an hour, nothing. The phone also displays a blue led the entire time it's hanging as well.
Also worth noting, when I attempt to boot into recovery it just vibrates over and over.
Not sure what my next steps should be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

after you odin, you need to wipe data/ factory reset to boot. If you can't get into recovery ( Power, Home Button, and Volume Up), then try reflashing your stock image in Odin and check your MD5 sum, so you can rule out a bad download
Thanks for the reply, I'm re-downloading the stock rom now to verify it's integrity and do a new flash. I cannot get into recovery, so we will see after the new flash. Pleading ignorance on one subject, how would I go about checking the MD5 sum to verify the file has no issues?
Additionally I did try to Odin recovery and still could not boot into it, this was however before attempting to re-download and flash a stock rom again.
**Edit//Update** Re-downloaded and flashed stock rom, was able to get into recovery and wipe, booted up fine.
Wow.. great idea for a thread and THANK YOU!!
Perfect timing too cause i need a little help please.
I am not new to android but new to samsung (WOW, didnt realize it would be so different from HTC ont he rooting and flashing side of things).
Long story short. I have a tmo s3. Bought it today and wanted to root. phone was working perfectly as it shoudl on stock rom unrooted. I downloaded the tool kit v7, used that to root adn install TWRP and rebooted into the stock rom that is now rooted. Still everything working perfect.
Here is what i did next and where the issues start.
Downloaded Synergy r290, went to recovery.
Wiped Cache, Dalvik, Data, and System (made a backup first)
flashed the rom and rebooted to system
However, nothing ever happened. I see the samsung logo, then all goes black and nothing happens (left it there for 10min)
I cant seem to get back into recovery holding vol up, home and power either and have no adb access to use that. I AM able to get into download mode which i know i can fix my problem here with odin, but i am just not sure what to flash and where.
Is there an easier way??
Thanks in advance for any help!

If you absolutely can't get into recovery to restore your backup..
Flash the UVDLJA root66 file in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1949687 via odin. You will have the latest UVDLJA JB update, and will be rooted. From there, install goo manager from the play store to flash TWRP.
After that you're all set to flash whatever you want (just make sure it's for the Tmobile s3).

Weird problem. When I set kernel frequencies on my phone, they at some point get locked at the maximum frequency. This has happened every time I flash a new ROM or kernel, and I'm worried that it will soon start to affect the battery. I'm using the msmdvcs governor on both kernels that I've tried (stock and faux)

Yes, I used triangle away, and download mode shows that everything is good to go. Which led me to believe that the .tar file I flashed might have been modified. But I'll give the reset a shot.

How long as it been? It can take a while to boot up.
If after 10min it's still not botting up, go in recovery, clear cache/dalvik and reboot. If that doesn't work, factory reset and reboot.
Now if all of the above don't work, get back in download mode and reflash with Odin.

You don't need cwm to get in recovery. it's already there by default.

Hey, my colleague dropped her S3, the Glass itself is not cracked, and the LED display is fine as well, however the phone is not responding to touch input, so it must be the digitizer. Is there a way to replace JUST the digitizer? or is she going to have to get the entire glass/digitizer/led replacement piece?
This is what I'm looking at for the digitizer only.

[Q] Screen Blacks Out - Should I send in to get fixed?

Just yesterday, my phone was working fine and then all of a sudden, my phone's screen turns completely black. I have the T-Mobile version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 with Stock Rom and the factory kernel. I did root my phone and tried to reset the phone by trying to boot up the recovery. It doesn't give me the screen. There is also no Samsung Logo when I boot the phone but a screen with green dots all over. Then, it is on and I can guess my password and such so the touch screen is functional. The LED lights up and the soft keys light up as well. The sound works perfectly fine. So I assume something happened to the LCD screen? There are no cracks or what not.
Since it is rooted, I cannot just send my phone in for repair as the warranty is voided and I cannot uninstall anything or unroot my phone because I cannot see where all my icons are and what not. Any suggestions on what I can do or try? I got it not too long ago too which is a bit disheartening.
Dame thing happened to my gs3, I did reset it back to stock through odin and sent it in. They told me after I sent it in that it had damage to it that was my dually like dropping it or something. No that wasnt the case, the screen just slowly fizzled out. Pain in the ass

I actually don't know how to do a reset via odin. I flashed it and followed instructions/research but since I can't see what is on the screen nor boot it up to download mode or anything... I don't know exactly what to do. Well I think I can boot it up to download mode again. I don't think it will be a problem. I just can't do triangle away after that though after that.
In addition, I would still have root tools installed so wouldn't that give it away that it was rooted? Thus, gahhh this is annoying =( Sorry for ranting... Just very frustrated (like many phone users on here I'm sure).
Edit
I have it on stock rom though... I just need to unroot it... though I cannot see my screen to do anything about it =/

If you have USB Debugging enabled you can used adb to remove root, I believe.
Odin back to stock should do it. Especially, with a busted screen.

However, my issue isn't a broken screen. The screen itself appears to be fine and same with the digitizer. I don't see how flashing the stock rom will help. In addition, I don't think I can find my way around especially when the screen is all black. I may be able to because I have clockworkmod recovery on there. Just can't see any of the menus or anything.
flashing back to odin uses the phones download mode you dont need a custom recovery you just download the right files and put them in PDA in odin and flash them to your phone while its in download mode

Well the next issue is, it refuses to go into recovery mode or download mode. All I get when I try the button combination is a screen filled with tiny green dots.
do what he does in the video even though your phone doesnt show anything on the screen it probably still works so you can try this
