I just downgraded from a Nexus 5 to a HTC 820q. It's running 4.4.4. And has a Qualcomm snapdragon 410 (msm chip) with 1GB Ram. Is there any ROM for this device? If not, which ROMs are compatible or may take less time to understand and build for 820q? I know kernel stuff quite OK and have build my version of Android for a 96boards development board which has similar specs as this device.
I really need at least Android 5, preferable stock kinda ROM if possible.

So I have the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 wifi (sm-t210r). It is running 4.1.2. I noticed that there is a Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 LTE (sm-t215) available, which is running 4.2.2. Other than mine being wifi only, and the other supporting phone data, what is the difference between the two? What would happen if I downloaded the LTE's firmware and tried to flash it to my wifi tablet? If it were to brick it, would I be able to flash the official firmware back onto my wifi tablet and have it working again?
Don't do it! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45469891&postcount=5
t215 & t217: 1.7 GHz Qualcomm snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5 GB RAM
t210 & t211: 1.2 GHz Marvell processor, 1 GB RAM
also, they have different partition layouts. the firmware from the t215 definitely won't work as-is on a t210r. it probably wouldn't be to hard for someone who has a t210 or t211 to port it, tho.
Well alrighty then. I'll just have to wait until either an officail 4.2/3/3 firmware comes out, or a modder comes out with a custom firmware for it then. Thanks for the informative replies guys.
What are your guys thoughts of possibly porting a stock android ROM onto the M9? Since I assume there are no more GPE devices.

Since it's a Snapdragon processor, the source should be out there. This means that porting AOSP to the M9 shouldn't be too hard.
i hope we get a stock rom for the M9, great hardware meets great software.
Though it says it support MTK mt6795 & Kernel 3.10, which is exactly what HTC One E9plus is running on but unfortunately it doesn't say which model.
So if anyone willing to give this one a try please help us out, I for one not willing to risk my phone since this is the only phone i have at the moment. This could be our only hope to ever experience Android 6.0

Hello! I own a device named Pantech VEGA S5. (Called SKY A840 or pantech s5 etc names in some communities..)
Phone has CM10, AOKP roms with Android 4.1.2.
The CM10 and AOKPs are built on the manufacturer's 4.0.4 stock rom kernel, and the phone also has manufacturer 4.1.2.
The Spec is as following:
Ips 1280x720 display
Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960
1GB of ram.
Spec is almost same to Galaxy S3 Snapdragon model, and LG Optimus LTE2 phone.
The Galaxy S3 Snapdragon model seems to have new lineageos roms like LOS16 and 17, and the LG Optimus Lte2 has CM11 kitkat rom.
I want to port these to my device.
How can I do so?
Thanks.
I only know basics like building existing roms and just ctrl c v porting recovery.
2012 device ?
are you for real ?
Hi everyone! A long time ago i've heard that it's not possible to port older android version on newer kernel, however it seems strange, since major kernel version stay the same(3.x). I've tried myself sometime ago(i have some exp in porting firmwares, but i've ported custom ROM of same version) but got bootloop(from 6.0 to 4.2). Have anyone got some success in porting older android version?
