What are your guys thoughts of possibly porting a stock android ROM onto the M9? Since I assume there are no more GPE devices.

Since it's a Snapdragon processor, the source should be out there. This means that porting AOSP to the M9 shouldn't be too hard.
i hope we get a stock rom for the M9, great hardware meets great software.

I know we will have to see what the future brings but, are there any developers willing to develop custom roms for us Tab S owners?
I know CM12 is Available for the Non-LTE Variants, i am an LTE owner so, i dont have any sort of Lollipop on my T705, was just wondering, since Custom Development for T705 has stopped for a while (besides IronRom which is mainly a 805, and SkyHigh, which is my daily driver)

CM12 is based on Lollipop.
Lollipop was Officially released quite a few months ago, what hasnt been released is Lollipop for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S Product Line.
So my question was, if we are to expect custom development from the current developers for the Tab S when Samsung releases its base rom for the Tab S, since this is a no-so-popular device.

Cm12 is based on lollipop/stock android. Why? Because someone ported/built a working build to make it work. Samsung takes ages to release lollipop.

See, this was something I was afraid of hearing because wouldn't there be a difference between ported/built working vs official samsung bult that is fully functional? Not saying the other cm12 isn't functional, my insecurity says theres ought to be something between developing a working carbon copy and the real version.

What do you mean with the "real and carbon copy" versions?
Samsung implements a framework on top of android called Touchwiz for their devices, it's more than just a skin, and the personalization takes time. Samsung decides which devices to be updated first based on the sales of the device or if it's a new device as a magnet for sales.
CM(XX) is much closer to the The Stock Android Experience (AOSP), but since Samsung uses a closed code, and drivers, an implementation is never as perfect as an "Official" one. This is mainly due to the fact that CM implementations are more ports than direct implementations, but neither is a copy or the other, just two different approaches, and different outcomes.
I will still continue development of my SkyHigh kernels for LP TouchWiz based firmware. It's what I'll be using ..... unless I manage a miracle to scrounge the cash for the upcoming 8" Tab S2
Once firmware and LP kernel source is released, then I can start .
Hi.
is there any chance that the gt p5210 receives lollipop?

I have to say no. I can't even find a 4.4.4 rom for it. Samsung wants to you to spend hundreds again for the latest models and this is how they get you to do it. It seems to be a very neglected device by devs too. I'm guessing because of the Intel processor in it.

Not about the processor, but just business. Samsung will make u get a new device in order to receive lolipop. But there is a chance if people can develop/port in lolipop rom and kernel unofficially.

I meant Samsung won't release Lollipop for older devices because they want you to buy a newer one. And I meant developers are turned off to it because of the Intel processor. I remember reading that in a post somewhere.

yea, x86 processor give us the developers a tones of trouble, but just to let u know that there is still plenty of developers working on developing mods roms and more for this device.
Ok, thanks.
It's strange that the old galaxy tab 10.1 (P7500) received a lollipop rom, and this tablet didn't, isn't it?

agree, i dont think there is a hope for official stock lolipop firmware, but there is still plenty of hope on custom lolipop rom
do android lollipop 5.1 will support htc one m8 ?
what is the firmware number for that one ?
which custom roms are running lollipop 5.1 and hows the best of them ?
Thread cleaned.
Keep posts on topic.
mo said something on twitter sense 7 will come with android M (i think they will just skip 5.1 or they will not because of the MMS thing).
there is GPE htc one m8 Roms and even stuck Roms 4.04.1700.6
the custom Rom s that comes with 5.1 is (ether GPE based or CM based) you can test them out personal preference.
Hello!
My HTC M8 is unlocked, S-OFF, and on last official OTA GPE ROM. Support ended, so I'd like to jump the wagon and join the L-OS crowd.

Do I need to reconfigure phone to Sense, or can I flash L-OSes on GPE-style firmware?
