Is there any way to set messenger up to always text the "mobile" number listed for a contact? When I pull up messenger and try to send an SMS and type in a contact I see the contact's mobile, work, and home number pop up. How can I set it to just show mobile numbers?
I don't think you can with Google Messenger. Textra has a mobile only option. I'm sure most messaging apps in the Play Store do to.

Hi,
I have a little annoying problem with my contacts. SMS from Google Calendar and from my mobile provider show up as if they where sent from a Facebook account. The facebook contact has bogus phone numbers ("ob" for landline, "07 no idea" for mobile). Both the messages from Google and my mobile provider don't have real sender numbers ("Google" and "Orange CH", respectively), so I guess the contact app thinks that "ob" is close enough to "Google" and "Orange CH".
I feel kind of stupid to go ask my facebook contact to remove his bogus phone numbers simply because my phone has a bug. Are there any other options? I haven't linked that facebook contact to any other contact, I wouldn't bother if that single contact wouldn't get synced to my phone, but I haven't found such a setting.
Same problem here. That particular contact exist only as FB contact.I would like to remove all FB contacts from my phone which is not linked with phone/Google contacts, but if I remove FB sync, all other contacts lose their pic from FB.
Hope HTC or Google will found a solution soon.

I have this too. And messages from voicemail all come from a friend called Abi!
I have some caller id pics for my contacts from google and from facebook, however the pics from facebook only appear in my contacts and log but not when I make/receive calls or in my messages. The google pics however show up everywhere, is there a way to do the same for facebook pics?

Has to do with the way you synched your contacts in your phone. IIRC, you need to add your Facebook to your Contacts Accounts list, and then it'll pull down Facebook images, use them in texts etc. But if you log into the Facebook app and synch that way first, it won't.
Basically, synch via Accounts under your Contacts, not via the Facebook app.
I have an issue with my phone showing me all GMAIL contacts, as we know gmail seems to add every single email you have sent emails to on your contact list, so I see all of these.
I want to see my gmail contacts, but really only phone numbers. Can I do this in the messages app?
The display option in the contacts app doesn't affect the messages app.
Is there any way to change this behavior?
I can forward the incoming calls to other phone. How can I forward incoming SMS to other phone?
Both voice and SMS forwarding are network functions. And very few networks implement SMS forwarding. You might try contacting your provider and ask if they do, but chances are slim.
As an alternative, you may install a SMS app with SMS forwarding capability - something like "Auto SMS (Autoresponder)" or similar. You'll be paying for each message that gets resent, unless you're on a plan with free SMS.
If you're connected to an Exchange email server you can also sync SMS with email.
You can find these kinds of apps on the market. As the last poster mentioned, you need an sms forwarder. I use sms backup which after 1 minute of receiving a message it backs up the message onto my gmail account under a label of my choosing. You mark them as read or unread. You have a lot of possibilities when it comes to just saving or forwarding your messages. But if you want to be able to respond, then that's more difficult. You can forward the sms to another phone, but responding with the same number is a trickier subject!

Hmmm, I've been carrying two phones until I port my number from T-Mobile to O2.... might have to look into these SMS forwarding apps
Hi, I'm wondering if I can change the phonebook priority to my gmail only, right now when I wanna send a text there are like 2 or 3 different contacts with the same number, and so the wrong name comes up everytime, this is because I have different phonebooks with different names but the same numbers (for example, my sim card, my gmail contacts, skype, etc) and for some reason the messaging app doesn't take the gmail contacts as priority even though I have it set up so it is the only phonebook that is enabled in my contact list, the rest is disabled so they don't show up. I know I can link contacts but this doesn't fix it, is there some way to fix this. I know I explaned it poorly but I hope you guys understand.
