HTC Mail app: IMAP folders? - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Maybe I'm just missing something here, but I can't find a way to see the subfolders of my "Inbox" folder that I have in my IMAP email account. I can see inbox, sent, trash and so on, but the subfolders within my inbox folder are not there.
Is that a bug, "works as designed", or am I doing something wrong?
TIA!

Look at HTC Mail/Tap on left Upper Corner the menu/Tap on the Folder right next from your Mail adress.

Yes, that's what I already did, but the subfolders are not there.

Mail from subfolders in touchflo

Hello,
I have 2 questions:
1.
I have a lot of email in subfolders and i was wondering if it is possible to get the mail from that subfolders visible by the contact (in touchflo) who mailed me.
Now only mail that is in my inbox will be by the contact, mail from my contacts that are in subfolders are not displayed.
An example of the screen where i want the mail from the subfolders (and inbox) to be seen:

2.
Is there a posibility that i get an "new message" notification, when i get mail in one of my subfolders?
For as far as i can find with the search tool there is no solution for this, or do i missed something?
Anyone?...
no free solution yet. even M$ never plan to support the function.
btw, u may try this.
I sync with my mailserver and my mailserver automaticly moves mails to the specific folder
the program you suggest does the same, but then on my mobile.. that's not needed for me
I think that my second question will never be answered, but that my first question is touchflo specific, so maybe someone could tweak it?
*bump*....
i need such a solution too
Anyone?...
I had the same problem too. My mailserver automatically distrubutes the mail to the proper subfolder, skipping the inbox.
Fortunately I was able to add an extra rule leaving a copy in the inbox. Now everything does come in. After I have read the message I simply delete it since it is also stored in a subfolder. When I need to check it again I go to the subfolder where it is still unread.
I have the same problem. mail is synced with exchange server. mail is ordered in subfolders on the exchange server.
now on the contact - mail page (see first post) only the mails in the "INbox" are shown and not the mails in the subfolders.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
thanks
No to be dense but have you tried
From the Inbox, select Tools->Manage Folders and make sure there folders are selected? I also believe it is a limitation to only get a alert for "InBox" and not the other folders. Must also be Exchange 2007 on server...

That's allready done but you don't get a notification then
AND mail in subfolders is not displayed by the contact. only mail from the inbox is... and that's the problem

Have you tried to contact with HTC support? Maybe they can suggest something about it. If you haven't maybe I will, because I also need this feature
So I did, and here is a reply from HTC support:
"there are no plans to change the way that touchflo works in this situation, or at least, no plans that anyone here is aware of. Touchflo is designed to give you quick access to your inbox, not the entire email program. it therefore only checks your inbox. To check your subfolders you need to go to the messaging program and view them there. best regards, HTC Europe Support"

hmm
now maybe wait till the XDA developers find a solution would be nice!
Or maybe more people should bother HTC support so they know it is a feature a lot of people want.
If enough people request it, they may put it on their featurelist.

Exchange subfolder sync?

quick question, im syncing on Exchange. and if i go into the MAIL app i can select Menu --> Folders and see all my subfolders, so far any email that get auto moved to these subfolders are not generating a email notification. it seems to only work for emails that stay in the INBOX.
I assume thats a limitation of the HTC Exchange app? unless anyone figured a work around?

need email help

My email works and sends and rec's fine. But since I have hotmail it only gives me my mail email folders (inbox, sent, trash, drafts) and not all my other mail folders where my email is separated to by filters.
Anyone know of a better email client that will solve this issue for me?
If you tap and hold on an email from your Inbox, and scroll down and select 'Move to', do you see the rest of your folders?

[Q] Mail notification subfolders

My desire gets all my mails, contacts and calenderitems from a MS Exchange Server. So i have the same data on my phone as in my Outlook.
With Outlook i created some rules, so that the exchange moves some mails to subfolders of Inbox.
But i only get a notification if a new mail is stored directly in the Inbox and i have to open each subfolder on the phone to check for new mails.
Is there a way to get a new mail notification on the phone after the exchange moved a mail directly into a subfolder?
Or is there a way to create a link directly to a mail subfolder?
By opening the buildin mail app (the letter symbol with the number of unread messages in the inbox on it) i am always in the inbox and have to open the subfolder manually.

[Q] Exchange folder sync

For Exchange mail accounts, I'm assuming you can select which folders you want to sync (have pushed to the phone) - correct?
And for multiple accounts, can you set different notification (vibrate, sound) types per account?
Go to the folders of the Exchange Account and show all folders. You will then be presented your folders. Select the folder you want to sync and tap on that folder. It will then sync and bring it up one level and you will see that folder below your main inbox.
You can't set custom ring tones to each account.
1. yes (at first only inbox will, but you can view the folder and say syncronise this folder)
2. no, not at present
My company just migrated me to Exchange last night. I'm able to sync my in box and the folders I want to sync but I have rules on Exchange that move some emails into certain folders. Once this happens I'm not getting notified that I have a new email from that person who the rule is set for.
Any suggestions?
It doesn't support alerting when items appear in subfolders of the inbox. A workaround would be to turn those rules off so messages arrive in your inbox. Then run the rules manually periodically to clean it up.
Does it at least update the Hotmail/Outlook Live Tile when a new mail comes to the sub-folder?
Without any sort of notification to the user that a message is there, it's pretty damn useless to use. Mind as well just use POP3 or IMAP on a 30 minute poll or something instead...

No it doesn't update the tile, you can sync the sub folders but if you don't select all folders to see if there is anything new there.
The only work around I could find was to create a rule to just move a copy to the folder and leave the original in the inbox. It is a terrible solution but at least it kind of works.
I don't think this is a WP7 issue since a co-worker has an iPhone and he has the same issue.
