Anyone having issues updating E6853 from Taiwan - Xperia Z5 Premium Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have spoke with Sony chat a few times and they keep giving me the run around, has the 6.0 and other updates came out yet for this market? They wouldn't give me a straight answer.
Thanks

It may not come OTA. Did you try PC Companion?

I did try companion, but it keeps saying connection error occurred. When I asked Sony about it, they only said it may not be available yet for the market it's from.

It's available. Did you use PC Companion or Xperia Companion?

[Q] Rooted and upgrading firmware through Kies - good idea?

My GT-I9195 is rooted and I just received this popup in Kies that a firmware update is available. Now I know that OTA updates cannot be done because I've modified my device but it appears that Kies is giving me the option to update without such messages.

Has anyone done this? Is it dangerous? This is actually my first time considering an upgrade through Kies and I'm a little nervous how it'll go.
I upgraded under the same circumstances, only difference was that I'm on DBT firmware.
You'll have to re-root however after the firmware upgrade.

So the upgrade goes along nicely and you only lose root?
Yup, that was it for me.

I have HTC Verizon Unlocked and am not currently in the States.
Whenever I check for the update (in CDMA mode) it notifies me that it cannot find a network.

You can do it on a computer by downloading and installing hTC Sync. Follow instruction for syncing it, then choose update.
It will download and install two files.

Safetynet failing with Android N

Havent had the opportunity to try Android pay yet. Anyone else getting similar results? Android pay and Safetynet worked before updating via beta test ota.

Came across a Reddit thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/49pfgk/android_n_developer_preview_megathread/d0tnsjf) as well as an XDA thread (http://www.xda-developers.com/xda-e...oid-pay-will-not-work-on-android-n/?nocache=1) and note that Android pay will not work at the moment due to any services that rely on passing Google’s Compatibility Test Suite (CTS) will fail

Disable Playstore auto updates as well. They can screw you up... Once I get a device optimized I don't upgrade/update firmware. I rarely update apps. Result is a very long lived, stable platform with minimal issues.
Samsung Wearables updates and Buds+ firmware upgrades have broken stuff for me. I also block these especially the firmware upgrades. Samsung is hit or miss... goofballs
