Are scratches apparent on the camera "glass" itself?

yes
Then its likely this pretty common issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/general/how-to-fix-htc-one-m8-camera-issue-t2803825
The problem is a coating (probably anti-glare) on the camera glass is scratching/peeling/delaminating. It will get worse and worse. Most folks have removed the coating with isopropyl alcohol or other means described in the thread linked above. This solves the problem, although you may get some minor scratches on the glass itself in the long term; which has happened to me, but those scratches don't seem to show up on photos (at least not anything like the scratched coating).
Some folks have also returned their phones to HTC (if still under warranty) for repair. But in those cases, its not really clear whether it fixes the issue with the coating long term; or if it will just reoccur.

So here's the deal.
One day, I dropped my defy "accidentally" inside a water closet. I put it up high in the shelves and suddenly it drops down to the closet.
now the left part of the screen is unable to be touched anymore. as could be seen in the screenshot below. the green areas are the ones that are broken

as this is a surely hardware problem, are there any other solutions than:
a. buy a new LCD screen (hard to find)
b. buy a new phone
thanks for the help guys
bump..........
Sorry
Since it is a hardware problem, I can't think of any other solution besides purchasing another LCD/phone. I'm sorry.
That said, I have put my defy underwater many times. The touch screen stop working when wet, but I had no issues with it once it dried. Maybe the problem was from the impact?
hi all,
i broke my screen the second time, the first time i used strong glue thats used in construction because i had nothing else avaliable.
when removing the screen again the foil you see on the picture ripped off partially.
now my question: is this critical? what purpose does the foil have?

It is a kind of insulator and also a shock absorber for certain delicate components, to prevent them from having a more normal displacement.
What critical is? You only know when the time passes, now you won´t notice a substantial difference yet.
Hey guys, pleasure to meet you all here.
I have a question.
Did anyone see a teardown of ZUK Z2? It seems to me that the mid-frame is entirely made of plastic, which is kind of concerning since with just a drop would damage it entirely.
If anyone would be able to share their experience opening their ZUK Z2, I would love to hear from you guys.
Some sites that you can see the disassembly such as myfixguides and a couple of other youtube channels
concerned about dropping it??? try a protective cover and a good quality screen protector.
Eh what?
Plastic is much more resilient to drops because it can flex. Metal on the other hand gets dented and therefore puts pressure on the glass and causes it to crack.
Anyways, to answer your question:

Also... Why would you buy Z2 at this time? It's too old to be worth it anymore.
I don't open it into pieces but I dropped my phone 20 times or more its stays same without any damage, I always use provided protection cover also applied tampered glass on top.
I'll be purchasing the f3 black, therefore I've been curious about how long-term users have found the glass back to be durable. How has the quality been, excluding any physical harm such shattering from impact with the ground or similar. Additionally, does it scratch as plastic rear does if I put a case on it?
i have the blue one
honestly, i cant figure out whether its glass or not, even though it is said to be glass in gsmarena
however, i have felt the x3 pro, so, it is definitely not plastic
as for scratches, i pretty much equip and unequip the case twice a day (because i use a mobile fan cooler), i dont see any scratches
I have the White version, and it's pretty cool. No scratches at all but I use a case. The White version is frosted glass, which means no nasty fingerprints, but it's slippery, I feel like it slides around a lot, feels maybe too smooth. But beautiful indeed

I like to handle my phone using one hand, but because of really thin case edges and curved screen I constantly get unwanted touch events on screen sides where palm touch it unavoidably. Problem almost never reproduce if phone case put on, but thing is, with case this huge phone gets even bigger and that's unacceptable for me.
I'm willing to sacrifice touch sensitivity on screen sides so I can grip phone firmly in one hand.
Is there any way to set dead zone on touchscreen sides (i.e. outside of red lines on pic), so any touch there is ignored systemwide?

I'm using LineageOS 19 (Android 12) on OnePlus 9 Pro btw.
Same setup. Same question.
yeah, I don't think so.. I also have the problem. I solved it by using a case that is thick enough on the sides. This way I don't have this problem any more.
