How is the camera performance after update? - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Alot of reviews about the HTC 10 are written about slow and bad performance of the camera.. Is this really true?
Can renew my phone in two weeks and after HTC 7,8 I think it's time for the 10

It is very good. The camera was never slow or bad before the update, and it is even better now.
It is definitely better than the 7's and 8's.

The laser focus is definitely a whole lot better.

Not really Samsung still better in low light. They are both comparable overall.

Oops! Thank you..in that case definitely as I still have the One Max!

Since I have the S7 Edge, Nexus 6P and HTC10 it's alright. The camera certainly can't compete with them on the same level so far, yet for HTC it's good.

My 6P definitely has a better camera. This is after the new update on the HTC too.

I didn't see any camera improvements since the update today. Everything looks the same.
Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

Looks the same to me. Still on the fence when it comes to the photo quality. Coming from a Note 5, I think it is a downgrade.

I think I will choose for HTC 10 black version. (Carbon)?
It's actually the only Android device I like in every day use.
What I understand is that it's close to GPE editions..?
In the Netherlands we can get the 10 with my subscriber for around €38,-/month. 3gb(4g), 800min, unlimited sms.
Not bad at all..

Don't listen to them listen to me. Buy it!
Get it from somewhere with a good return policy and try it out for a few days. That way you can make a informed decision with hands on experience

Top reason to buy, lots of great devs working on this device now. Best device for developing/tinkering/hacking on vzw network imo.
Just generally, feels good in pocket, nice screen, good calls, good user experience even out of the box, not envious of other devices yet..
Thanks all finally got it. In fact swapped it with one of my phones.
Initial thoughts were overrated, sluggish, but now that I'm using akop rom, liking it, screen resolution very good especially in comparison to XL. It's fast, very responsive.
Quite pleased but I'm in another predicament someone is offering to swap their Note for my nexus!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
If you have super wide pockets and a huge hand or don't have to get the bus or use it around lots of iphone users, you'd probably love the note.
It's too big for me, but apparently its super fast and also has a hd display.
I'd always try a phone out for a week at least before deciding from now on as it's seriously taken me a good while to like the Nexus.

I did it got the Note, initially was slightly disappointed as it was not as snappy as NS but after root and flashed custom roms it is very good. No.lag now. The screen is second to non amazing, camera massive improved from NS very average camera. Micro SD card slot I'm glad I took the plunge.

Make the jump dude. But you got jb. Why would you want to swap that for. Anyways word of warning. Next time search dude loads of threads about what you are asking and most of them got shut down.
Best thing to do watch YouTube videos and there are threads here giving you reviews also.
You need any more help PM me
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
With JB currently being available for the nexus there is nog real world difference in performance. I'm now running a miui rom on my HOX which makes it much faster than stock, but still slower than an nexus running JB.
I would wait out some more development for the HOX (official camera hack, Good JB port, Tegra 3 optimisation from the nexus 7 etc.) before switching phone's.
Give it a good month or 2. Will also save you some cash since the HOX is still dropping in price.
funny, I'm about to buy a Galaxy Nexus and go away from the One X for the sake of quicker updates and a bit better battery life with the 2.000mAh battery pack. I'm sure I'll miss the One X build quality though, HTC has done some really nice work there..
but to answer your question, i found the camera to be better on the One X, and of course the build quality is a major factor, the unibody design feels really nice in the hand and looks super good.

LG G3 or hold out for Nexus 6?

Not sure what to do. Should I jump to G3 or hold out for nexus 6. I have a nexus 5 and love it. I have been going cross-eyed from over thinking this and would love some opinions. Any and all feedback is appreciated.

Even if there is Nexus 6, it probably won't be released until early November late October
Get the g3, the Nexus 6 will probably be fantastic, but if you put off for that one, you'll put off for whatever comes up next. Get the phone and enjoy it. Life is short, get many phones.
I'm getting the g3 and I'm wanting to see what Samsung has in line for the note 4 but the nexus 6 is on my radar as well

I am unimpressed with the G3, and plan on shipping it back tomorrow. The "amazing" screen looks like garbage next to my iphone 5s. I'm holding out for the Nexus 6.

BTW The iPhone 5s has a 640p screen I.e. not even standard HD which is 720p and the S5 is 1080p so I hope it looks better. I never understood iphones 'retina' anyway. To me it's more of a marketing ploy but I digress.
The N6 isn't really confirmed or even leaked so we may not know until right before a possible release. I would stick with the G3 and or read through the topic I linked above.

I say get a g3 its a sick phone and if you don't like it just sell it and buy a nexus 6 when it comes out.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
If you are a nexus fanboy I'd say wait because the nexus 6 could very possibly be the very last nexus phone.
Get the g3. I have the n4 and had the n3. Wasn't too interested in the n5. One thing I am certain is that the n6 will NOT have a sdcard

Why not both? Buy and enjoy the G3 now and sell it when the N6 comes out. You can probably sell it for near the price of the N6.

I've had almost all the NEXUS phones, the last two really didn't impress me at all. Too much compromise in the software for the "pure Android" experience. It might have been cool a couple years ago when manufacturers would bloat the phone down like crazy, well... Samsung's TouchJizz is still a major offender but other manufactures have really slimmed and optimized their UI's while adding a ton of useful features. It's now to the point where I feel pure Android is lacking way too much. Also I never had a good camera experience nor good battery life with ANY of my Nexus phones. It also seems like Nexus devices uses lower end components to meet their price quota, lower quality LCD panels, lower binned CPU/GPU's that thermal throttle like crazy, mediocre camera sensors, small batteries ect...
No more Nexus phones for me, unless they release something really extraordinary but I really doubt it with their budget price cap. After owning both the Nexus 5 and G2, it was incredible how much better the G2 was in everything from software, battery life, screen quality and camera. The G2 just seemed way better engineered and thought out, sure it was "almost" twice as much off contract as the Nexus 5 but this really was a case of "you get what you pay for".
I came from the Nexus 5 to G3 couldn't be more happy! Had enough of terrible battery life from the Nexus 5, will not be getting a Nexus phone ever again.

Agreed, I was also pretty unimpressed by both the Nexus 4 and 5. So the OP should just go ahead and get the G3 now. Then he can wait for the N6 release, and when everyone and their mother has reviewed it to death and found any faults, he can then proceed by selling the G3 and buying the N6 if he think it's worth it That's my plan anyway.
i have the n5 as well..it wont last me not even 2 hours...just using instagram snapchat..texts and facebook..sometimes browsing..ive had the n4 before and i dont think i will get the n6..as far as i heard..it is going to have a 5.2 screen..no sd..no ir blaster..the battery will suck..non removable battery it will probably not top out the g3

Iv seen a Nexus 6 on Craigslist for $600. Im thinking, my G3 is everything that is. Im running Lollipop fast and stable. The display isnt as big but 6" is too much for pocket
Resolution and pixel count are on par. Ram and Rom is on par, plus I can add micro sd and change battery. I love my G3 and Im on freakin Verizon. G3 is the best phone out right now....

No, the M9 even takes better daylight shots than the S6 now. Daylight shots are greatly improved. Sense is the smoothest and fastest UI out there. Sound is top notch. And this is the best gaming phone. Battery is better than the other top phones.
After the latest update i can assure you that the camera on the m9 has been much much improved & i think they add digital stability for video capture ?

I had the S6 for 20 days and now M9 for a month, I can say the M9 is better than S6 for daylight, S6 is better for low light but it doesn't mean the M9 is not good.

The HTC 10 has a great camera. IMO, the S7 slightly edges it out (no pun intended).
Neither one comes close to my 5D3, but the best camera is the one that you have with you when opportunity presents itself. In that respect, the H10 or S7 or my old N4 are all equal.
