Battery on my tab s t800 drains 30-40% over night, and tab is off. I mean compleatly off, not just screen off. I resoldered connector, and put brand new battery. Tab is almost new, just few months old, but i dont have warranty. Did anyone had similar problem with tab s t800 and maybe have some solutions for me? Sorry for my english, its not my native language.

Have you flashed it, I read that some roms can have bad battery drain, flash the stock rom/kernel for your region.
Even when your tablet is turned off, it is still on but in the lowest power state, as the clock is still running, maybe it`s not entering that lowest power state.
Is the battery you soldered in 100% or is it causing your problem.

Battery is brand new. Same thing with two more batterys. I tried couple stock roms, now im on iron rom with iron kernel. Maybe i should try resolder battery connector one more time. I dont know anymore what could be wrong?

I have never flashed my T800 so my knowledge is limited, as far as i know the firmware is made out of a few different parts, did you flash a new kernal or just a rom.
I would say try another battery, the battery in the T800 is actually two battery`s one on top of the other, so one battery could go bad and you tablet would still work but you would have bad battery life.

Hey everyone, I've tried posting this in the battery life thread but I've gotten no help in resolving this issue. This morning I unplugged the phone from the charger(I leave it plugged in overnight) and the phone dropped 20 perecent of the battery in under 15 minutes. At this point the only thing i was doing with the phone was checking a text message I had recieved.
I have optimized my phone so that I it only updates email and many other services manually but regardless a 20 percent drop in 15 minutes is not acceptable. I have calibrated my battery using the battery calibration app which hasn't worked. I have rooted my phone and am currently using the stock bell rom. Additionally, I am also using nova launcher on my phone and that is about it. The only strange thing that I've done to my phone is use a blackberry charger to charge my battery but I don't think this is the issue.
At this point I am beyond frustrated with this device need a solution now or I'll have to take it in to get fixed. Does granting root access void my warrenty? Do I need to unroot before I go to bell. I will post images of my phone stats in the next post.
thank you in advance for your help.

Before you send it in or take it somewhere, download" Better Battery Stats" and see if you can target where the drain is coming from. And yes, you will need to return to stock but before you do you will need to run the triangle away app. That will reduce your flash counter to 0. I'm betting you will be able to find out the problem with Better Battery Stats though. Check your PM's. I sent you something helpful that I didn't wanna post on here.

*Edit* - Never mind. I see them. Also, what ROM & kernel are you using? Are you using the original charger & cable that came with your phone? I read of a guy having a similar problem & it turned out to be his charger & charging cable.

I don't know what Kernel I'm using but I am using the stock Jellybean rom. I've basically just given myself root access and installed the latest stock firmware. I am using my original charger(plugged into the wall) and last night i left my phone plugged in for over 8 hours so its definitely getting a full charge.
When I was am girlfriends house I used her dads blackberry charger to charge my phone but I don't think that would have wrecked the battery in such a way. I have noticed that the battery seems to draing very rapidly up until about 75% at which point battery consumption returns to normal. I can try charging my phone whilst plugged into my pc if you think that maybe make a difference.

Ok. I gotcha. The charger thing only matters if you use the wrong charger all the time. It doesn't charge it properly. It doesn't do any permanent damage that I know of. I would advise using the Samsung charger whenever possible. Anyways, let your battery drain all the way down to 0 til the phone shuts itself off then charge it all the way back to %100 without taking it off the charger. This should recalibrate your battery. It just got knocked outta wack. It happens sometimes. Let me know if this works. And by the way, you're probably running the stock kernel. You can always get that info by going to settings/about device. Let me know if this helped.

I have a friend who had the same problem, he had to get his phone turned in because his motherboard was malfunctioning.
He ended up getting a full phone replacement and hasn't had the problem since.
If you continue to have this issue I'd definitely get it looked at by your providers retail location.
edit: If you root you will want to avoid tripping the flash counter, which from what I've seen lately is very difficult.
Telus flat out told me in the store that they don't even care if it's rommed and have asked me what I like to use for roms etc which is nice, I don't know if Bell is as lenient.
Best of luck.

The previously mentioned %68 after 5 hours is pretty typical of what I get running stock kernel with ParanoidKANGdroid 1.40. That's while I'm at work, so I'm usually connected to WiFi, on silent, with most of my usage during that time being texting, but I do usually play games on my lunch. I have thought that was a bit excessive drain, so yesterday I set up CPU Editor and set my maximum CPU frequency to 702 MHz. I got pretty close to the same drain.
Today so far, I have the stats uploaded, and that seems much better to me so far.

Thanks for posting this thread, I'm having the exact same problem. It's been an interesting go for me.
Some times it does it and other times it doesn't.
I'm using cyanogenmod nightly from 1.3.13 with the latest ktoonez kernel and I've noticed that today, it's sucking battery more than ever. I'll attach a screenshot, but I think there might be something with the charger as mentioned earlier in the thread. When I charge it at night, I'm charging it off an old blackberry micro usb cable with a generic AC to usb plug.
I'm going to let this thing drain out and die and charge it back up to 100% and see if that works for me.

It definitely helped me. The main advantages that I see with running the kernel that I use is the ability to undervolt & overclock it. This will allow you to run the same frequency that you normally would but at a lower voltage therefore reducing heat & battery consumption. Google it & do some reading & educate yourself on it before you make your decision. I am glad that I decided to do it.

AOKP allows you to change those settings doesn't it? Or only with a custom kernel?

Yes I think AOKP will allow you to change some settings around. It will allow you to set you min/max clock speed & your gov & scheduler. A custom kernel will give you different gov, schedulers, & different min/max speeds. I use Ktoonsez's kernel & it comes packaged with an app called Ktweaker. He advises to use this app to control your kernel settings. I don't think that they will apply properly if you don't. Also you can undervolt with Ktweaker.

What's the top in battery usage? Sounds like you're getting network issues (low/lost signal and such). Should probably make sure your APNs are perfectly matching your carrier's.
Also, what is your usual screen on time?

Also check wifi signals and that APN which is mentioned earlier,
Then try to hard reset your phone.

Hence why I think it's a problem with the battery. But it's possible that it's a system problem that only flashing stock would fix. It's a shot in the dark though.

Not sure what looks weird in there. Battery drain will change depending on what wakelocks you get.
Hi everybody...I have this phone and I have a problem. When I charge the phone up to 100% battery and then take it from the charger, battery drops to 99 or less without phone usage...And when I go to sleep and then wake up,the phone lost about 10-15 percent...Can somebody plesase help me?
Check what's keeping your phone awake during idle, "wakelock detector" and "better battery stats". Though you need root for these. You've nor given us any details of what your phone is and what ROM?? Try searching for threads on how to calibrate your phone battery.

Not always the case... Depends when and where your phone was made. Could be a faulty kernel or motherboard but it also could be an app or a setting on your phone or an unclean install. Have you always suffered this issue?
I got phone about 3 weeks ago...and the battery was very bad so i bought new one.I also tried CM 12.1 but the phone is heating in unnormal way but the battery there is better...
You have problems with motherboard. Go to service center to replace it on waranty.

But my phone isnt on waranty...i got it used haha....ahh nvm,i will live with that problem.thanks for help!
Bad luck then. Normal consumption for our device is 0.2 - 0.3 % per hour in stand by.

How long does yours battery last with some normal usage?
Almost 3 days with moderate usage.

Your best bet seeing as unless you pay for a new motherboard is to try one of the battery drain fix kernels on here. Though I think you may be limited to certain compatible ROMs.
Why are you not staying on cm 12.1? For me it's amazing, i observed at least 100% more battery efficiency than stock (4.2.2). I also observed the same problem with high temp too. But i think we can't have it all. When i play games and the outside temperature is about 35 celsius, i do not expect anything less, because this mobile is not designed for this android version. I think that's reasonable and i finally can use my mobile with a joyful way without having my mind always on the battery stats!

Thanks guys! And i will try CM 12.1 for longer time to see if anything will be better!
This battery drain issue is really annoying. I have tried absolutely everything to fix it. Except unlocking bootloader and rooting. I shouldn't have to do that to get what the phone is capable of.
I sold my previous phone which was an Alcatel idol 3. Not a bad phone, just a little leggy. The battery in that phone was a 2900mAh, it lasted 2 days easy!!
This ZenFone 2 has better specs and a slightly bigger battery and I can't make it 10 hours, a lot of other users who also bought the phone have the same issues. Android OS battery drain.
I have 5 days before I can return the phone to the store ( I'll get charged a 10% restocking fee, which I should send the bill to ASUS)
Can anyone from ASUS tell me what's going on regarding a fix?? Update??
Would making a video about the issue help. ( I have access to some big name youtubers, phone reviewers) it might not help your sales though.
Thank you,

Are you running the latest firmware and are you using Google Fit at all?
Yeah running latest updates I'm not using Google fit
Do you still get a battery drain when you use a different launcher? Ie. Nova launcher?
Do you have SD card inserted? I can't use SD card since before mediascanner finishes (500 songs on SD), all battery is drained or phone crashes and gets stuck in bootloop ... Also the mediascan clogs I/O and phone is so unresponsive that I can't turn screen on once scan starts. Removed SD card and phone works again.
To help improve battery life please ensure to turn off 'Wifi Scanning always available.' To do this go to Apps/Settings/WiFi Settings/Advance Settings(menu in upper right corner)/Scanning always available/ turn Off. Please also see the following information showing 8 ways to extend the ZenFone 2 battery Life. http://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1012981/
Please also see the troubleshooting methods provided in a ZenUI app called ASUS Support/Assistance/Battery/Battery drains fast. If still no improvement with battery then we recommend updating the firmware to the latest version. After firmware is applied we recommend performing a hardware reset including wipe cache partition. My ZenFone 2 heated up extremely a week ago while sitting on standby on my night stand. It has drained 75% in 7 hours. Since then the battery life is terrible. I am going to perform a radiotherapy and see if that helps. Most of the day I am using my 2 year old M7 which lasts the whole day with moderate to heavy usage. If the reservoirs not improve things I will contact Asus and see the next course of action. My phone is up to date as far as firmware is concerned.

He is right, though. Battery seems to be a mixed beg for some reason? My phone was fine in .20... Buuut I upgraded it anyways to ParanoidAndroid.
Just doing a factory reset on mine and it has been on (erasing) format least 5 minutes. Is this normal.

yeah, takes longer than expected
I would say that 30 minutes is asking time to be stuck on erasing.

Well, AI brought my phone to work last night and got it back into recovery and wiping status. It took about 45-50 minutes before it shut off. Then I powered it back on which brought it back to wiping. It hung there for a minute and the went to the set up screen. That is the longest I have even seen a phone perform a factory reset. Will go through the setup later. Thanks Frank for your long to how to do this.

I was having really bad battery drain. Flashed CM 12.1 on it and it's been amazing since. Scored 48273 in Antutu and battery is lasting forever. Unplugged at 6am this morning, it's 4pm now, been using it with full brightness all day, I'm a heavy user. 45% still left.

It's a shame that you have to flash different software just to be able to get full use of the phone.
The amount of bloatware that came with this phone is probably the worst I've ever seen!!

Hi, I would like to ask if it is possible to get a NEW battery for Lenovo K5 Plus (about the Lenovo BL259 battery type).
New ... I mean the newly made in 2018.
I dont need a new battery urgently, but I would like to buy a new one in a while.
The current battery is good but I would like to buy a new battery over time (I charge up to max cca 85% always, I dont discharge to full discharge etc.).
Maybe someone has already solved something like this, like a question about an official producer, good shop etc.

Well you might be a little bit crazy with the battery thing.
The phone is from Februrary 2016, you might bought it even after that.
The battery life may decreased a little bit over time, but after 2 years not a lot, you might buy one from Ebay:

Well yeah it's from China but should work fine.
If you think you might have big battery drains that could be from the Rom itself, and you may install an custom Kernel like this one to help with that: https://forum.xda-developers.com/k5-plus/development/kernel-t3725978
Or you might change the Rom with one that doesen't drain that much.
