Ok so here's what happened. Yesterday my cable stopped working for some odd reason so I just used a wireless charger. Lately the Samsung Galaxy Gear Vr app keeps popping up like every 3 mins and it is forcing my phone screen to go black. I tried stopping all the crappy apps Samsung uses. Just keeps opening it up even when it's disabled (Yeah magic) And also it keeps saying on my notification bar "Dock is connected". Any help?
I have the same problem on my S6 Edge+. I'm not sure about the cable not working but I do keep getting the Gear Vr setup page and a power sharing pop up as well as the dock connected. I did some research earlier and I think it's because the USB port is going out.

Hey Guys,
So i've done some research all evening here and I've done nothing different than i'd do any other day with the phone and all of a sudden today around 6 PM eastern the phone started acting up. I came home from work plugged it in and it started to lag and then froze, finally unfroze and got that error " Unfortunately, %1$S %2$S has stopped running. I only have the option to click (ok) So I would do that and I thought all was well, turns out this is not the case. When this error pops up it also disables the phone from charging. I unplug and plug back in, the phone starts to freeze and the error comes back. I've been doing some online re-search some people say it's a synch issue with google and to turn synch of, did so, still same error. Some people have said unplug charger, power off phone wait 10 seconds, plug charger back on and boot up, this also did not resolve my issue. I will say that if the power cable is not in the device, it works fine. After about 2 hours of trying different things, I plugged it back into the charger and the phone started acting out really strange, changing from screen to screen and indicating " The dock is connected" I don't own a dock and the phone has never been into dock. I'm using the stock charger that came with the Note 2.
I will say I have TWRP installed and I've been using the JEDI X Rom for this phone without any problems. I thought, okay well none of this is working maybe it's the rom acting up, so I decided to go into recovery wipe all cache & system and re-installed the rom, same thing. The dock is connected, phone freezing and Unfortunately, %1$S %2$S has stopped running. So, I re-did everything again, wiped all cache systems, fixed permission and put the stock rom back on the phone. Now the phone is indicating in stock mode that the "dock is connected" when really it's just the charger. The phone is going into the time out then pops back on automatically all by it's self. Not getting the Unfortunately, %1$S %2$S has stopped running anymore though. the phone is 3 weeks old, and i'm at a loss here as to what I should do next.
Any suggestions, if not, Is there away to erase the phone "call" time so I can get it down to below 30 minutes so I can return this one for a new one?
Thanks,
Well, after hours of reading, I came across this post for an Android EVO phone and it mentioned something about a connect point of the charging port in the phone and said slightly bend the charger cable when it's attached inside, I tried this at a last cause and everything fixed itself, I re-flashed Jedi X and all errors have cleared itself. I find it strange because I'm very gentle with inserting/disconnecting these cables...
Thanks,
I'm not surprised. I've had similar issues with a S2 and other Sammy phones. In fact my brothers Galaxy S as well. He had to get the whole board replaced. I hate MicroUsb. Although its nice to have a generic sync port that is the same across almost all Android devices, this port needs to change.
Just my $0.02. Glad to see you figured it out. Knock on wood my Note2 hasent had these issues yet.

Hi, I just like to share my experience with problem connection my Galaxy S3 to my 2nd new Samsung Allshare cast dongle. As you can see, I have two Samsung Allshare cast dongles. One in the bedroom, the new one for the sitting room. The first one was bought long time ago and had been working fine. Got latest ME29 firmware. Connection is fast and no problem at all. Now, the price of this dongle has dropped so I proceeded to get myself another one for the sitting room, saving me unplugging it and plugging it, etc.. The new one has the JB version of firmware. The phone detected it without any problem but it kept on showing failed to connect message almost instantly when I tapped on the detected device on the touch screen. This is how I have ended up here at this website. After hours of reading, stock.rom, custome.rom, .pdk, etc.. I was still getting nowhere. But I don't know why. I kept on seeing in my head the blue LED showing on the dongle. Well, stupid of me, I had thrown away the packaging and with it the manual. So, I tried to download it from Samsung website. There is nothing about this dongle on the UK Samsung support website. From my experience with other worldwide hardware companies, so I tried Samsung support website in other countries. And I found a customer commented on another customer's query. So, here is the solution for those people with connection problem after updating the dongle's firmware to ME29. No harm to try this before going down the custom rom route.
After updating the firmware of the Allshare cast dongle, (by the way, my S3 has the latest jelly bean on), it will say Allshare is closed. At the same time, the red LED that was flashing would be solid red now (not flashing). Unplug the power (miniUSB) from the dongle, count to 10 and plug it back. The dongle should be showing a solid red LED now. Press and hold the button at the back of the dongle for about 15 seconds and the red LED should be flashing now. At this point, you can restart your phone just in case. Or just disable the WiFi and then enable it on your S3. Now, go to the dongle, press and hold the button for one or two seconds, the flashing red LED will change to solid BLUE. Now, go to your S3, turn on AllShare. It will detect the dongle. Tap on the detected device on your S3..... lo and behold....it connects!!!!!! Just to repeat, I have not downloaded or mod my S3 in anyway.
The blue LED is only for use in the very first time of connection. So, I guess updating the firmware constitutes a "first time connection" condition. I hope this information help. Good luck all.
What app is used to update dongle? Sorry if this is a NOOB question. ..
Hi,
I have not been able to find an app either on the Google play store or the Sammy app store to upgrade firmware.
The version shown is LJ02. But I seem to have constantly re - pair every time I try to use it.
Help on the firmware elsewhere on the forums someone mentioned there was a better device now (linksys dlink? I don't remember)
TIA - Thanks in advance
Frank
I'm about to throw this stupid thing against the wall. Since I bought this thing a couple months ago I've noticed that sometimes when I am watching youtube a box will pop up telling me that I've connected to T1 (the name of my wifi network). It seemed odd because I was already connected but whatever. Then lately I've been using the HBOgo app to watch shows, and at some point during every episode the app will freeze and I will have to back out and then resume the episode. I assumed it was the HBO app, but I've started to realize that it is the tablet itself freezing and disabling wifi. I realized this today when I was trying to download some files. Nothing too large, 60-100mb, but the downloads were always failing before they could complete so I would have to start over. I start to download a file, the download should only take a couple minutes at the most, but before it completes, somewhere between 30% to 95% downloaded, the whole tablet freezes up and becomes completely unresponsive. Then the wifi icon disappears from the top right, and the wifi button next to location, bluetooth, etc, goes from green to gray, then after a few seconds it goes back to green and a box pops up telling me that I am connected to my wifi network again. I start the download again and the exact same thing happens. I've also noticed that the tablet gets quite hot around the camera.
It does the same thing when connected to my TP Link Archer C7 (just using N, not AC) and a netgear router I had lying around. I doubt it's the network as the router has no way to forcibly disable wifi on my tablet. When I said that the wifi button goes from green to gray, it's as if I had tapped it to manually disable wifi, even though I did no such thing.
Also, it does seem like if I turn the screen off and let it sit for a while to cool down, it will work until it heats up again. Once it starts to feel hot though the wifi will start disabling itself and downloads start failing again.
I'm only about 10 feet away from the router with direct line of site.
So is it just overheating? Defective and time to send it in under warranty?
Everything is stock.

My previous phone Mate RS connects with the Samsung S3 perfectly and stays connected all the time. Every since I have switched to my Mate 20x (China Version 256gb), it wouldn't stay connected. I have to manually connect it from time to time. Anyone have the same problem?

Can't use the trash can on the button in the bottom right it will auto disconnect. You also need to go and turn off battery optimization for all the gear stuff and it will stay connected but my gear's battery life is terrible these days.
I'm having the same issue
I don't know if you're seeing the same but for me the last update has fixed most things, my gear set now syncs and stays connected
Don't kill the gear app from memory and the watch will stay connected. Also disable power management for gear app.
I have been using the official Samsung HDMI>USB adaptor to play videos on the factory NAV screen in my 2014 Ford Escape. It has always worked perfectly until today. I haven't used it in a few months but today when I plugged it in it flashed a Samsung DEX screen detected momentarily but it kept flashing HDMI connected & HDMI disconnected every second or so & never connected to the NAV screen. The screen kept saying video source connected (or something like that) but it was also saying no data received (or something to that effect).
Does this sound like a problem with my phone ??
