When clicking the little paper clip icon to attach a picture to a text message or an email etc, it automatically shows a "recent" list. Is there a way to change that so that it defaults to a different location? ie. sd card or something?
no?

Well i use Exchange to manage all my adresses. Works very nice, i get all contacts including pics etc. Very nice....
For sure i have an entry in the adress book of exchange as well. With pic's etc.
Now if i send an SMS i would like my picture to appear there. But it doesn't.
Somehow my enty of myself is complete in my adress list, but I can't link that account to the phone identity. (Don't know how to call this)
Is there anybody who understands what i am talking about and knows how to fix this ?
Hi,
If you go to a conversation on your sms client.
Press your picture (a grey man), you should get up the same screen as if you where saving a new contact.
Top left corner there is a camera button, press it and you can choose to use a picture from you phone or take a picture
Hopes this clears it up for you
Hi guys,
I have HTC Desire for only a day, but I spent most of that time searching how on earth I can attach a image/photo to a contact in my contact list.
When I take a photo of my friend, I go to photographs, select the photo, press the menu button "set as... contact photo", but then appears only blank searching screen and that is why I could not search anyone. How is that possible?
I have a few dozens, maybe hundrends of contact on my SIM card, but none of them is saved directly in Desire. Is that a problem? If so, how can I move all my contacts from SIM to phone?
Thanks in advance.
Yes, in order to attach a photo to a contact it must be on the phone(or google contact).
You can import your contacts from SIM by opening the dialer, press menu, choose "people", press menu again and choose "import/export", then select "import from sim card". Now you can export them into a phone or google account, both have option for pictures, but there is a blur bug with the google accounts when they're synchronized, i.e. it's better to choose "phone". Finally when the list comes up, you can press menu again to "select all"
Sweet, it works fine now... thanks!
On my LGOG, there are two apps, Phone and Contacts. In Contacts, I can use the Display option to expand the categories of contacts that are shown and I have set it to show the maximum number of contacts possible. However, in the Phone (i.e., Dialer) app, I am unable to pull up certain names under the Phone app's Contact tab (not to be confused with the separate Contact app). These names freely show in the Contacts app, but are missing from Phone. I cannot find any Display settings in the Phone app. The Contacts tab display in the Phone App says "Phone Numbers > Custom" at the top, but I cannot figure out how to change the "Custom" display.
Does anyone know how to change what contacts are displayed in the Phone (not Contacts) app?
Also, in the Phone app, the Favorites tab displays my contacts as large icons/tiles. Is there any way to make them show up in list view? Again, I see these settings in the Contacts app but not the Phone app. Very frustrating!
Thanks for your help.

Contact listing inconsistent in Groups
I have an HTC HD2. When using a MIUI ROM the contacts are listed pic then name on a single line, same in looking in Groups. When using Jellybean or ICS ROM the contacts are listed name then pic but in the Groups (when looking at contacts) they are listed two pics and names per line. Is there anyway to make the contacts in Groups as single line entries per name ? If not, could that be something to be worked on in future updates ?
Hi guys, anyone here using the standard Sony messaging app ... when you go to "add recipient" (by pressing the three dots ...) to bring up your contacts list, is there any way that I can display only phone numbers?
It is showing every single contact including email addresses and duplicate numbers all on their own separate line. This is really annoying if I want to browse my contacts list, because it is so damn long! Like 400 items to scroll through!
When i go into my contacts via the phone/calling app, it has a bunch of options to "filter" by phone numbers but does not affect how the messaging app displays the contacts.
Anyone else get this issue?
When I compose a text message and start typing on the recipient, it's showing me email address etc, how can I turn that off and just show their phone numbers? Thanks.
One thing you might try. Go into your contacts app. Tap the 3 dots in the top right and at the bottom of the pop up, select "Contacts settings". The option of "Only contacts with phone numbers" should now be visible. Put a check in the box and see if this helps.

Click to collapse
I did that but it's still showing up the other contacts when I compose a new text message.
