If anyone receives word on or has a link to any news or info on source code for the kernel and or OS will you please post it here. Any and all variants as I am looking to do some righteous porting action for a really cool set of ninja shhh.#[email protected] ....
This would be better in the general section buddy, mods won't like this being posted in the development threads
We are actively harassing HTC Dev via Twitter lol
The best you will get is kernel source. Sense source is closed and never released.
Kernel source is whati need really, as far as os i just meant when a CM or AOSP var comes along

This is only a suggestion to make this sub forum DIAMOND ROM DEVELOPMENT much more readily accessible to released ROM's.
We have so many ROMS being uploaded these days that for finding a particular ROM you have to browse through hundreds of threads (some of the threads are ROM threads, while others are discussions about some problem etc.). Also there is no thread containing a realtime, up-to-date index of released ROM's.
This can be made easier if there is a new section / sticky introduced under this sub forum DIAMOND ROM DEVELOPMENT,
example :
ALL WM 6.1 ROMS (POST HERE)
ALL WM 6.5 ROMS (POST HERE)
All chefs / authors of ROM should use only the above two sections to post their roms.
EDIT :
a) If possible, header/title of the ROM post must be brief & standardized such as [date]-[build]-[lang]-[name (max 30 char for eg.)]-[short description (max 30 char for eg.)]
b) Same logic can be used to assign name to the uploaded rom zip file.
c) ROM's should be indexed somehow by a number such as 1,2,3 etc. Numbers can be assigned based on release date. This will improve traceability of a particular rom. IT must be possible to sort the posts in above thread by the index no. (and therefore the release dat)
I dont know if this requires programming the thread structure or something of that sort.
All other discussions can stay under Diamond ROM development as they are right now, so inconvenience to members is avoided.
(EDIT : Although, I am not a very active member of this forum when it comes to posting, but have tried 80% of the ROMS released here. I am able to visit this place only two times a week & always find it difficult to find / search new ROM releases for flashing / testing)
I agree that this could actually work and would make it much easier to find something. Lets see what the other people thinks about it.
I agree! TOTALLY!!
Yup, agreed! Would be hell of a lot easier to find something that way!
It would be really useful... I totally agree

Actually, more useful would be (as it was when Pietrucci had diamond...) to have a benchmark of all those roms.
like this thread.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=582700
But there is nobody today who has will/time/possibility to do such thing. And that's a shame....

Agreed. Benchmark of ROM's would be perhaps more useful. But for doing benchmarks,we will anyway require some sort of list to start with.
Friends,
Rumour has it that Android 2.0+ will not be released for General Mobile DSTL1. If you are an owner of a DSTL1 or Sciphone N21, this means your device will not benefit from the upcoming version of Android.
However there are many people who work individually for incredible ROMs to make these devices better, like AmonRa, Andferno, Crzyruski etc. These people will need the source codes for the new ROMs so that they can continue developing.
Please take a minute and help them by posting your wish at the General Mobile dot com's contact page.
Remember; Android is a very extendable OS and can be made better by continued efforts.
Thanks and peace.

This is not a good way of recruiting....
Saying, just saying
Best way to recruit developers for prospect projects:
- show what you can contribute, they need raw evidences (eg. previous work, works on other sites, programming knowledge)
- know what you need (eg. app based java devs, OS devs, themers, scripters)
- be a little polite don't feel like taking advantage over people
- lastly XDA is a community resource and no one, i mean no one is seriously random enough to go into a thread that says "HI I NEED DEVELOPERS ON A PROJECT WITH FAST INTERNET K THX", then replies "Ok i'm an expert and i'm in"
Creating a custom rom ?? i'll glad to help u...
If I post a port on this primoc forum do i have to have permission from the original rom dev? even if the rom may be discontinued and the dev no longer active? Could I still post it and give them credit instead?

No you HAVE to ask. Unless they have stated otherwise, even if they have stated otherwise you MUST give credit.
In regards to shubham's cm9 kang bang rom. I would send a permissions request and give him fair time to reply. And then if no reply confer with the community about adding it with proper credits to shub for the original rom. I say this due to him no longer being online with the htc one v. If not online at all. I never could get in touch with shub after trying to contact via several methods. I do not think shub would mind as long as you gave him proper credit for his original work. To me its about continuing the community. A number of the older roms would still be very useful if bug problems were finally eliminated. Roms like Kang Bang have a lot of potential..they just need some bugs eliminated. In regard to what is best for the community,I say keeping the community active and viable to draw new development should come before certain permissions if the developer is no longer active in the community, not online at all any where and as long as they are credited for their work. Most developers would not mind seeing their work continue and fixed if possible as long as they are properly credited. Zakman I suggest private messaging the senior members of the htc development community like Simon,Llior and the current major rom developers and see how they feel about it. You might find they as a whole would be ok with it in the absence of shub as long as you did credit shub.
Well said, sir
Sent from my phone running a rom

Big Thank you sir. Will do.
Is there a developer working on an android 5.0 ROM, CM 12? Or what do users like us to start a project?
Users like you could read a little on this forum, especially in p6 area.
After that, users like you can unlike any huawei fb page and ask them to release the source code for the roms they release.
