Hello every one!
I will receive a galaxy tab s from my work and of course I wish I could root and instal TWRP on it.
The problem is that I will have to give it back in some time, and so I will need to flash it back to stock when this time will come.
So my question is: how to get back to stock recovery once twrp will be installed? (to unroot will be easier I suppose).. I mean, where can I find the stock recovery.img and how to procede to flash it?
Thanks in advance for replying! Any input will be very appreciated!
If you need to put it back to complete stock just flash the stock firmware.

I was not sure if recovery also would be flashed with stock firmware. But if you say it...
Thanks for input!

I am not new to flashing ROMs, I had numerous devices and flashed the crap out of all of them. I am new to the SG2. My questions are once I flash say The Beast ROM, can I come right back to bone stock via Odin and a stock TAR file like I could my Vibrant (I loved that). Also, is it best to flash via CWM, or via SD card and recovery mode? Just a little nervous, I don't want to be stuck on a ROM I hate or not be able to get back to stock for a return at TMO. Thanks in advance for the assistance.
Unfortunately we DON'T have a stock rom tar file like we did for the Vibrant. There is a stock unrooted rom that you can flash and be able to return phone that way.
You can flash any rom via CWR, it's the easiest way.
This phone is a BEAST!
Flash cwm via Odin then before flashing su make a nandroid backup of bone stock. Keep that and restore to it as needed.
I like to flash through recovery mode with the file in the SD card. I always make a back up before I flash a new rom just in case I need to go back to the original if the new rom doesn't work out.

So if I Nandroid I can actually restore right back to stock rooted correct? So I don't even need a stock tar file if I do this?

Yep, as mentioned, its good to keep a backup handy just in case (and for return/warranty purposes). You won't need an additional .tar

There is a cwm flashable stock rooted from Bubby too.
Before Flashing a Custom RoM, I did a backup of the stock RoM in recovery. Am going to need to return stock so O2 can release JB OTA update and allow me to update Hboot.
My question is if I was just to flash back the stock RoM in recovery am I right I dont need to relock the bootloader? I just use the Stock RoM with phone unlocked and custom Recovery just to allow me the OTA?
Thanks
You will receive the OTA, but to apply it you need stock recovery.

I currently have Stock 4.2.2 Rom - S-Off - Rooted - TWRP
How can I get to the newest Stock 4.3 (Radios, etc) ?
Is it easier to just flash stock recovery, then take the update, then flash TWRP and superuser back?
Or has someone made the update into a root-friendly flash-able zip yet?
Thanks in advance if this is a dumb question, but I wanted to ask so I get it right the first time.

Thanks for the info...
So I can just flash these with no loss of data? Or do will I need to restore data after I flash the rom?
My plan would be:
1) flash "Odexed Full ROM"
2) flash "2.10.605.1 firmware"
That should put me latest update stock right? (I might need to re-flash superuser)
I can flash all of this through TWRP?

You cannot flash the firmware in twrp.
It has to be done following the instructions in the post.
I would do firmware and then the rom.
Put the rom on your internal storage before flashing the rom.
Flash the firmware as instructed, then in recovery flash the rom, reboot.
Do not try to reboot in between, it wont work.
If you do it in that order you won't have to wipe, you will be on the latest OTA and have a rooted boot.img.
Supersu is installed already. You can prevent it from updating or flash the newest one here.
Read the OP and post#2 and follow it you should be fine.
Yes you want odex coming from full stock...
Thank you for all of the help santod040 !!
Your files and instructions worked perfectly.
I'll make sure to check in on your threads when the 4.4 update comes around.
Hello everybody!
I have a question
Yesterday I have had many problems with my Note 10.1 (P600). I've had a custom ROM and had it rooted.
Today I decided to put back the original firmware from Samsung via Odin.
Can i do a factory reset now without any problems?
Hopefully someone can help me.
Thanks!

Sure, if you want to reflash factory firmware, just use Odin and flash. Make sure you backup all your stuff before factory reset or flash stock firmware. If you want root and install custom recovery, you could follow these instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ersu-2-6-1-t3266010/post64198381#post64198381

Hey everyone. I'm having some troubles with every custom ROM I install on my S3 T-Mobile (d2tmo) so I want to come back to Stock ROM. I've been watching some tutorials, but lot of them are pretty old, and none is for the Galaxy S3.
So, what do I need to do to go back to Stock ROM?
Should I do a full wipe from recovery (TWRP) and then flash stock ROM via Odin?
The custom ROM I flashed is 6.0.1. The phone had 4.3 when I flashed the custom ROM.
Am I right about what I think I should do?
Thanks in advance. :good:
Yep. The firmware you'll use in Odin should be a .tar.md5 file.
Just flash the latest stock rom from sammobile.com using Odin. No need to do anything before flashing the stock ROM.
After flashing the stock ROM, immediately boot into recovery and perform a factory wipe.

Thank you very much for answering my questions guys! Everything turned out ok!
But I have a doubt about a little think that I hope you could help me.
Before flashing the stock rom I was planning on backing up my efs folder from the TWRP,version 2.8.70 for my s3 (d2tmo), but when I try to do a backup, there no "EFS Folder" option, however, on my other phone, a Galaxy Note 3 Exynos Variant (International Version) when I try to perform a backup there is a EFS folder option for backing up. It is also a TWRP recovery, and same version. 2.8.7.0. I know the phones are completely different, but, why if I'm using the same custom recovery and same version I can't do a EFS Folder backup from the backup option?
I hope I made myself clear about my question. Sorry for my English BTW, it is not my first language.
Thanks in advance!
Maybe this will help although it requires root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-edge-plus/development/updating-t3210266
