[Q] can't acess bootloader but directly acess to cwm recovery

hi , first of all , sorry for my bad english
im have bought htc one v last week
so last night i tried to root and install custom rom
after i unlock the bootloader and rooting the device from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1598964
then im choosing the custom room made by shubhamchamaria (thanks ) at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1640995
before i flash the room , my device still can access the boot loader
after flash the boot.img
then im entering the cwm recovery . then im installing the custom rom ,
so i did the reboot process
after the reboot process , it stuck at htc one logo (bricked?)
so i turn off the phone , turn off while pressing the volume down , it didnt enter the bootloader , but directly enter the cwm v5 recovery
so it bricked ? or another issue?
im downloading the stock rom right now
fyi ,
in the cwm recovery , ive format the data , cache partition and dalvik cache
thanks for the help
After you flashed the boot.img, did you do the "fastboot erase cache" ?
Not sure whether the boot.img that you have is secured or insecured, you can try this:
in CWM recovery, connect the usb cable to PC.
then go to your adb folder, in command prompt:
adb devices
if your device is listed, then the adb works
adb reboot bootloader
if it works
go to fastboot folder, in command prompt
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader

Reboot into recovery and try clearing cache. Or do a full reset. If not load another ROM on. Did you perform a nandroid back up first?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
You need to flash the boot.img included in the rom zip file, separately in fastboot.
Coz it wants to emphasize n make sure that u agree that its Quietly Brilliant ..
Just say out loud " ya I agree n its brilliant indeed..All hail HTC One X" ..n then its gonna move on for sure..
On a serious note..Did u flash the kernel correctly..I mean did u clear the cache in cmd?

To flash the boot.img, the command is "fastboot flash boot xxx.img"
With xxx.img the name of the boot file you want to flash.
You need to go in fastboot on the phone press and hold power + volume down.
On your PC, use fastboot on a cmd windows.
Hope this can help.
Please follow instructions on howto install custom roms they are included in first post of mostly every custom rom.
From what you say you probably didnt flash boot.img at all. So you are in a bootloop. Flash boot.img of the custom rom and restart your phone and it will boot correctly
Hi,
thanks for your help, i did not a perform a nandroid back up first.
I cannot enter in recovery mode, so i went to fastboot and installed Clockworkmod Touch Recovery 5.8.4.0. But i cannot enter again on recovery mode.
I started in fastboot and did the command fastboot flash recovery (the team win projects recovery image):
when pressed enter first time - failed battery low, second time - failed remote 00000008, third time is sending the recovery, does it take some time?

It takes the most a couple of seconds. Please read some how-to's before flashing !
Charge your batt to full !!!
1 : is to unlock bootloader
2 : to flash a custom recovery
3 : backup existing (original) rom
4 : wipe everything
5 : flash the boot.IMG with fastboot commands
6 : flash rom in recovery
And before flashing the boot.IMG erase cache and also after flashing the boot.IMG with fastboot command.
Also erase cache after flashing the custom recovery !
Please correct me if i'm wrong

Iam inside of clockworkMod recovery, what i have to do to clean everythink and start again?
You should have flashed the boot.img before flashing the ROM.
Steps to get out of boot loop
Hi,
You are probably in a boot loop because the boot.img you have is not compatible with the custom ROM or is not correctly flashed. First charge the phone upto at least 50% battery (to be safe). Then try following the steps below:
1. Download this pack>> Fastboot Pack http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1616741
2. Extract the boot.img from the Custom Rom you are trying to install in a folder on your computer.
3. Extract Fastboot Pack into a folder on your computer and replace the boot.img by the boot.img extracted from the Custom Rom in Step.2
4. Turn your phone OFF
5. Turn your phone ON in bootloader mode by holding the power and vol down buttons at the same time, your phone will start in HBOOT mode. It will be displayed somewhere in the middle of the text.
6. Use the volume keys to move up and down the list, and select Fastboot, then press the power key. Now your phone will come in FASTBOOT mode.
7. Connect your phone to the computer via USB cable. Your phone will now display USB FASTOOT instead of just FASTBOOT.
8. Run 05-erase-cache.bat
9. Run 06-flash-custom-boot.bat
10. Run 08-install-clockwork-recovery.bat
11. Disconnect the USB cable. Your phone will now again say FASTBOOT.
12. Use the up or down volume key to select HBOOT and press the power button. This will take you back to HBOOT mode.
13. Use the volume keys to scroll to RECOVERY and press the power button.
14. This will take you to Recovery mode, now you can flash the Custom Rom you want using Recovery mode.
Let me know if I helped by clicking Thanks

Hi,
It sounds like you just need to flash the boot.img from the rom you are trying to flash in fastboot. I suspect you are still s-on? If so that is the problem you are having and can be fixed pretty easy. Can you boot to the white bootloader screen and confirm for me if it is indeed s-on still? It will be S-on if you unlocked via HTCDev
If you are s-off then you most likely just need to wipe cache, dalvik cache, and factory reset in CWM then reboot
FYI - You do not need to be rooted on current rom to install a rom via custom recovery.
Hope this helps!
That didnt help Kevin or may be i did it wrong.
I extracted the boot.img from the ROM i was trying to install & then i created a boot.zip from that boot.img
I moved it to the SD card & tried to install it. It showed installation aborted.
What should i do??

Thanks & appreciate your efforts..

Hi,
Sorry for the confusion, you need to flash the boot.img directly in fastboot to flash it, not in a zip via recovery. Can you boot to the white bootloader screen by powering off phone then pressing and holding Power + Vol Down? If so please tell me if you are s-on at top of white screen.
If it says s-on on bootloader screen then you need to connect phone to PC, and then choose top option on the list (fastboot) at bottom of screen by pressing power button this should make middle of screen change to say "fastboot usb plug" If this is true you need to copy the boot.img from rom you are trying to install to the folder you have the fastboot file in. From there you need to open command prompt in that same folder by hovering mouse over bottom white part of the folder fastboot is in and hold shift and right click . Now choose Open command prompt here from the pop up menu. Finally in the black command prompt box type:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Then hit enter. Now type:
fastboot reboot
And hit enter, let me know if phone will fully boot now.
If you have too much trouble with this and want me to help further, please install Teamviewer and I can connect remotely and have you fixed up in a bout 5 mins if you want.
Good luck and hope this helps!
Boot.img flash fixed my phone. Thanks a bunch kevin!
Thanks a lot kevin, That worked well!! :good::good::good::good::good:

Help!!!!

Yesterday, I was flashing twrp vi android one toolkit on my a1.
After successful installation, whenever I boot up my phone , it redirects to recovery mode and stucks on the image of "teamwin".
Even when I open recovery via pressing volume up + power button, It is stucking again.....
Help guys what to do?
Note- I am able to open fastboot mode
Help me guys
Plz reply ASAP
Install CM, your phone will definitely start. TWRP is not something which is to be installed, rather flash it every time when you need it!
If you are able to able to pass through fastboot mode, then connect your phone via USB to you Laptop using adb software, format it and reinstall CM.(Google it on how to do it)
