Been a week with the '10' and its great in everything an HTC fanboy would want, still struggling to get the camera to get wow pics. Other issue, i felt was that the chamfered edge at the bottom of the phone hurts the little finger, while you rest your phone on it. Seems like a minor issue, but that's where the phone rests most of the time. Of course a cover can solve that issue. Used my old M8 PU cover and made a few holes for the camera and mic.
Issue 1:
After adding the fingerprint and it worked amazingly well...used it for a couple of days and i LOVE it, now it cant live without it.....and now every time I try to unlock, it says 'Pattern required after restarting'. Goes without saying I restarted to see if the issue goes. It doesn't.... repeated lock-unlock also didn't clear it.
Issue 2:
Moved the SD card from my M8, but could not move apps to the SD. Formatted the card, still cant move apps...I can see the card from File Explorer and move files manually but not through the UI. I can also 'format as internal', but not a big fan of encrypted internal drive that I cant access otherwise.
I have unlocked and rooted the phone...s-off is on the cards but only after venomrom blesses us with something for the 10.
Pattern after restarting is normal, almost every phone has that required

True, but only once...right? This goes in a loop. Need to keep entering the pattern each time its needs to be unlocked.

Do you lock your phone with gestures? Like double tap of Nova Launcher?
If yes, it will always ask for the pattern, unless you root your phone

When I was using my phone today, I noticed that a long press on the power button was shutting down the phone instead of bringing up the menu. Then, I realized that I had also lost my lock screen, which I really hadn't noticed because I don't use the pattern lock. Turns out, even if I enabled the pattern lock, password, or PIN, using the power button still took the phone straight into the home screen.
I don't know if it was an bug in a random app, malware, or what... I spent a lot of time searching for an answer on what might have caused it, but didn't find anything really helpful. I started deleting all my recent apps, but couldn't get the lock screen back, so I ended up restoring the phone to factory settings and starting from scratch.
The only reason I'm posting about it is that I'm not entirely sure what caused it... I'm debating the possibility that it could it could be a touchwiz bug. Anyone else ever run into this?

Yes, its a known bug. I just ran into the bug today and I refuse to do a factory reset to fix the issue since its just gonna happen again. Samsung should be able to fix it with a simple software update.

No, so far the only way known to temporarily fix the issue is to do a master reset.

Ah, that would explain it... I was tearing out my hair trying to figure out what I had done. Funny thing is, I don't even *like* having a lock screen. I was just bothered by the fact something was wrong...
How did you find out that it's a known bug? I must have been phrasing my search poorly, because I couldn't find squat about the issue.
Still, whether I like the screen lock or not, I think this is a pretty decent security bug, considering it removes the ability to lock the phone...

I know because I seen it under "list of known issues". If you scroll down a few post you'll find it. The downside to not having a lockscreen is that if you receive a text message your phone will automatically unlock and you may accidentally dial someone if the phone is in your pocket.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WITH THE LOCKSCREEN ISSUE I ADVISE USING A 3RD PARTY LOCKSCREEN. I AM CURRENTLY USING "AGILE LOCKSCREEN" (WHICH CAN BE FOUND IN THE ANDROID MARKET). I AM USING THE PRO VERSION, BUT THE FREE ONE WILL DO THE JOB ALSO.

Mine's gone too.... Now that we have root I've a nandroid backup which I believe still had the lockscreen and will try restoring from that. If that doesn't work then I guess I'll do a master reset and restore from Titanium Backup. Hopefully Clockwork Recovery will survive the master reset...
I thought that was just me yesterday so I did a master reset

Hey guys I just got my HTC One and I have read forums and articles where they say that the HTC One doesnt have any lag. Well idk if I got a defective phone or something but my One has definite lag sometimes especially on the launcher. Does anyone else experience this or is my phone F'd up?
Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk 2
Now and even when I was on the stock rom, the day it launched, I never got any lag. It might be caused by an app you have running in the background. I wouldnt be surprised if some of the verizon/htc bloatware is causing the lag.

Go to Settings > Apps and slide the screen over to "Running" in there you can see what is currently being used by your phone. It will also show you how much RAM is currently being used.
It might also help uninstalling some of the apps you do not use, like facebook, g+ or whatever else is something not in use. Once we get the write privileges fixed you will be able to remove things like HTC Car and other apps that are installed to the system partition but not actually required for the phone to function.

I'd definitely exchange it. Are you using the car app? If not, it shouldn't be doing anything. And every review says this phone has no lag. The only time i see lag on my note 2 is when play store is updating crap in the background. Always slows things down.

Simply enable a 30 second or so delay for the settings to kick in after a reboot. If your settings will make the phone unstable you have time to alter them/disable TricksterMod after a bootup.

I tried reseting but the problems eventually came back a few hours later. My GF's note 4 has the same issue with the laggy pull down menu and the laggy lock screen crashing. I was able to get to home as it crashed and there was an error message that Touchwiz crashed. There's a MAJOR bug in Touchwiz after the update.

My lock screen crashed again but this time the finger print scanner stopped working and backup password option shows up but doesnt recognize anything. had to factory reset. I think its a bug with the launcher and finger print scanner. I now have pin password on lock screen and noticed less lag on lock screen. definitely turn off finger print if you have it on.
Similar problems as reported here. Navigator flashes lock screen then recovers on its own. In a few minutes lock screen stays on unresponsive. I have tried factory reset. Using fingerprint scanner. I will try turning it off and report back.

I also believe it is the launcher crashing after 5.1.1.. I changed the launcher to NOVA and I haven't had any slow downs or crashes

Nova has an option very much like adding the command below to build.prop
ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1
For those that are rooted and don't want to try another launcher, try adding that to build.prop I'm not sure but post if it's already there; I wouldn't know myself, running OB7.
Reboot after edit with root browser. I can't imagine why a problem like this exists for an update that's supposed to be a fix for memory leak but acts like it's out of memory? Debloat may help but it may be simpler than that.

Did you try the following? I don't know if this works without root but Nova launcher (and possibly others) has an aggressive desktop setting at bottom of advanced settings. Enable that and reboot if you can enable it.
Haven't got confirmation if the build.prop edit is helping rooted users but there was one report of improvement with Nova Launcher.

That's the only close response I've got to a confirmation. It's been suggested to debloat or turn some apps off but that's still not confirmation.
I'm running rooted OB7 deodex with Xposed myself so I've only suggested a possible solution. I'm running a modified version of the OG5 5.1.1 kernel (freeza's Beastmode 1.0). I think the kernel is pretty sound in performance and in regards to battery; it gave me a boost in screen on time per charge.

Has anybody gotten this bug on the custom roms? Everytime I'm scrolling or in an app and I click/long press a link I get this yellow box that has something to do with talkback(?) but I can't find anything on the accessibility settings nor developer options
It is very annoying because it keeps jumping back to the box whenever I scroll.
