Im a Noob to the site and cant seem to find anyone with my same problem.
I plug in my USB OTG cable and the phone does not show that the usb drive is connected.
I have tried a 2.0 4gb flash drive and a 3.0 32gb flash drive and none of them work.
I have not had this problem with the Stock Rom.
My friend has a stock rom Galaxy s4 and it works with no problem for him.
Please Help Me Out Here. I have looked through lots of Forums and cant find a solution.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm using the M919 on CM12 nightlies but I'm having an issue where I remove a flash drive and it just won't get detected again until I reboot. After a reboot it works fine until I remove it. Funny thing is, USB mouses can be plugged in n removed any time without issues and stick mount and other OTG apps detect when I plug it in but I just can't access it until I reboot. Any help would be highly appreciated.
I have the same issue, some how the device does not get properly unmount. I'm using MOTO X 2014

Have you found a patch or anything. Something that can be done until it's fixed officially.

It seems it's a well known issue: http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/88663/
SOLVED
My device is working properly until this moment that when I connect it to my pc, it only reads the storage,I can access both internal and external, view images and whatsoever, but when I try to copy a file into it. it says " The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected" . I don't know what happened. I tried formatting/factory reset, wipe cache, dalvik, changed USB cable/port and I even flashed to stock rom. I reinstall the samsung drivers too but no luck. This happened after I flashed a custom rom (CM 12.1) but like I said, I flashed again to stock rom but nothing happened. I tried to plug in my Phone and it works properly.. any help?

Hi! I had this problem on my Tab S. No matter what I did it would say the same thing! So what I had to do was change my USB cable. Certain ones aren't as fast in which causes this error. Samsung stock cable or using a fast third party transfer cable solved my problem.
Another way is to disconnect my micro usb from my Tab S and stick it in my pc (since the micro SD came with an SD converter.) I would transfer my files over to my SD then disconnect it and stick it back in my Tab S. Those are my two solutions.

Hi, I figure it out now. I don't know what could be the exact problem but I tried to flash again CM12.1 and its gapps. USB problems are gone, its working normally now. Maybe you should try flashing a ROM too and see if it would fix the problem.

Hi, thanks for that. I reposted the original post. I don't know yet how to edit the title so I just added Solved into the post.

Great! Thanks for fixing it.
To edit the title, if you click EDIT on the top post, and then clock GO ADVANCED, you can then revise the thread title. Its not absolutely mandatory to mark it SOLVED, but its sometimes useful.
Hi,
I bought this adapter. On my Mi5 pro with Cyanogenmod everything works fine. But with TWRP not, because it just dont recognize the adapter with the USB-Stick. I have tried FAT, FAT32 and NTFS. Nothing, TWRP just dont sees the USB storage.
I would like to ask here, if someone already as an adapter for USB 3.1c to normal USB 2 or 3 that is already working. Otherwise it becomes a lotery for me, buying adapters till I find one that is compatible :crying:
I want to make backups, before I install OTA updates for Cyanogenmod.
Already have wrote a email to TWRP team (for about 2 weeks) but still no answer.
Maybe one of you can recommend me a adapter the he knows that is working for sure with TWRP (newest version), because I have it working or you know that has the adapter working for sure.
For every idea I would be very greathfull.
Regards.
No idea? Cant believe, that no one here has a adapter working with TWRP.
I have the HTC Desire 816 from sprint, I believe it is a5chl, however I am currently using CM13 for a different model (a5dwg) because cm only supports CM12 for my device and I use my device on wifi only so I don't need data to work anyways. I've been using cm13 for the a5dwg on my phone for a while now and it's been working perfect, however I had an older version of TWRP, it was 2.8.0.4 ( I think) and I wanted to update it to 3.02 (or whatever the latest is). And when I went to update it, me being a silly goose, I accidentally flashed it to the boot partition and thought I bricked my device. I decided to wipe all storage partitions and reflash my rom and then use adb to update twrp. That seemed to work, and everything on my phone now works as it once did, EXCEPT it no longer reads any USB I plug into it. Before updating twrp and wiping, my phone would get a notification when plugging a usb in and I could then explore the files, however my phone no longer responds to usbs what so ever. Even in recovery it shows an option that says USB OTG but whenever I click on it, it does nothing. This is a really big annoyance because I used this option to easily flash nightlies and other files. Did wiping one of my partitions somehow break the usb otg? or was it updating the recovery that did so? Is there anyway I can fix this?
Sorry for the long and probably somewhat hard to understand post, but I've searched everywhere and cannot find anything about my problem. Any advice/input is greatly appreciated.

Yes usb debugging is enabled
I've never been able to get that to work on my A5chl. Stock or otherwise.
