I have a Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910P
I recently had the misfortune of downloading the update to Marshmallow. After 2 days of boot loops and random crashing, I cleared and factory reset the phone. It was still having the same problems, so I went into Sprint Zone to check whether or not I missed an update or it didn't complete properly and it told me to download another update. When the update got to 97%, it said download failed and the little android animation laid over and died (Samsung rep did not believe me that this happened). I took it to Best buy and the Samsung experience rep wasn't able to flash the software, but another worker told me how to go about doing it on ODIN.
I'm pretty proficient so I downloaded it, grabbed the appropriate TAR and drivers for the phone, it finally all went through (quite easily) and I was back to the recovery mode screen with the (now alive) android animation (not the odin mode/download mode picture, but the updating animation) and the screen went black. I think the battery may have died, despite being plugged in for the night.
Now for the problem:
My phone isn't recognized by my computer. It says I have plugged in QHSUSB_BULK when I plug it in and I am unable to start the phone by any means (not power button, not vol up+home+power, no way, no how... ) I also have no battery animation telling me it is charging.
I've heard legend of a debrick file that can be loaded onto an SD card and used to fix the phone, but cannot find the site/article again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All,
I have used my GS3 for awhile now without issue. I'm abroad for the forseeable future, so I've only been using it for Wi-Fi calling and internet/apps. Regardless, Kies NEVER worked for me, and my computer never recognized the USB device. Up until recently, I've just used my iPod for music, so no problem.
Fast forward and my friend, who also has a GS3, tried to update my drivers and root/flash my phone so I can drag and drop files the way he does with his. I let him do this because I'm newb to this, and because he assured me he knew what he was doing as he'd done it to his and his girlfriend's phone.
As it turns out, he has an international version (he used ToolKit instead of QCom ToolKit) and he tried to root the wrong files to my phone. At first, I thought it was hard-bricked (which really puts me in a tough position since I won't be back in the States until January), but I don't think even his root attempt worked properly.
So where I'm at now:
The phone will not boot up. When I turn it on I get the Samsung Galaxy S III logo, but android never loads. The phone will charge via USB and the wall.
I can access recovery bootup
I can access download bootup (the ability to do the two above lead me to believe it isn't hardbricked, I read on these forums, if I can get to download bootup then it's probably fix-able)
I've combed the forums and the internet, in general, for a fix. I downloaded the factory restore settings from samsung-updates (sorry if I cannot plug this site, it's not intentional, simply to provide as much info as possible), but Odin always "FAIL"s when I attempt to apply it.
Additionally, I've attempted to recover via recovery bootup/reset, and then load the factory restore setting via Odin. This did load them, but the phone did not boot up.
QM ToolKit was acknowledging the phone, so I attempted to boot the correct files using ToolKit (the ALLINONE option) and this worked correctly, as expected via QM ToolKit. But still the phone would not boot up.
The phone sits at a black screen after the GSIII logo with the blue LED lit up.
Any tips or advice would be appreciated. I'm in quite a situation.
sadly i have the same problem, this happened randomly and cant get my device to boot
If you Odin tmo stock image tar and odin recognized your device and all went well then boot into stock recovery factory reset then reboot. It should boot up if all is well. When you plug to pc does your computer recognizes it?

Provided your boot loader and download manager partitions are working(as it appears to be the case) you can get your phone back to a "working" state.
What I suspect happened is that at some point during the process of playing with it, your partition table got hosed and now android is borked. I would recommend re-partitioning it but I don't have enough info around me and available to give you instructions to do so. I'll do some digging and try to get back to you.
Good morning,
A friend of mine went to one those cell phone repair booths in the mall. One of the employees said that he can flash his Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II to Metro PCS. He charged him 60 dollars and messed up his phone. The employee does not work there anymore and I beleived he did on the side not through the actual store. The cell worked for awhile then started to lag until it would not boot it would stay on the SAMSUNG logo until the battery would die. It seems he flashed without installing recovery and also no usb debugging. When I tried using Android tool kit it asks me to set up usb debugging but since the phone does not fully boot I can't acccess to do it. I tried using odin to install firmware and I started it last night and I checked this morning and it hadn't progressed past 1%. I disconnected it it and now I get this message Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again. I know this is due to disconnecting. I still can get into download mode. Is there any solution for this problem I must be missing something I've tried Kies Odin and Android toolkit. Please help I would like to fix the phone for my friend he doesn't have a lot of resources and can't affod another phone.
Thanks.
hi,
so i just got my s6 edge for sprint shipped to me (it wasn't activated to any service when i got it). here is the order of events i took:
1) tried to activate my service, but there was a delay in porting the #
2) while waiting for them to port it, i rooted it, installed twrp and a rom (this was when it was on 5.0.2)
3) they called and said they were ready to port, but the new rom didn't have the activation software in it. so i stalled them and said i would call back. i then reverted back to stock using odin.
4) got the number ported and was fine using the phone at that point.
5) this is where the day turned bad...... i didn't realize that coincidentally today, a new firmware was released to 5.1.1 and the phone auto-updated to it while i wasn't looking
6) i went to go re-root it using the same 5.02 root and now my phone is stuck. it's sitting on the "Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, Powered by Android" screen and in the top left in red it says "RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING"
7) i tried to restore it back to the stock using odin, but it errored in the download mode (i don't remember the error off hand)
i can get into download mode, and that's about it. i had to let the phone's battery die on it's own to turn it off (this phone gets super hot, btw)
so i guess what i need to know is how to restore back to factory default again, now that it thinks it's on 5.1.1. is there any hope?
I'm in the same boat as you, I think the only hope is to wait until the firmware is available to download and install it via Odin. Let me know if you've had any luck getting it up and running again. I had to switch back to my old phone for the time being.

check this post, download the tar and flash it in odin. it worked for my phone!

it got me into a recovery image that worked and i was able to factory reset in there. my phone is booting properly now. (after it reboots when done, it took a bit on the first title screen to do anything, just be patient)
Thanks man, that worked great. Although I found out in the process of trying to fix it the past few days, I must have flashed a non-compatible kernel because once it boots the touch screen is unresponsive. I guess I'll have to wait until the firmware download is available after all. Thanks again for the help though
Hello all i am a newbie but quickly learning the hard way. I have a Note 2 that fell the screen became blank but the phone came on. I opened up the phone and reconnected some stuff that came out of place, that was after the phone was down a long time. The phone was not booting up i tried Smart Swith, Kies the process reached 5 to 9% and stop. I used Odin with some software i got from SamMobile and this site but no luck it either fails of is stuck early in the download. The phone turns of my windows PC picks it up but that's about it. Is their a suit of software that i can use via Odin that would install everything from, recovery img, bootloader and firmware that would work? I don't know if i made sense if i did could someone please help. thanks.
Looks like hardware is broken...
Note II Problems.
Hello I had some luck in installing the firmware to 4.2 and switched on the Note 2. The phone came on and i am getting ringtones sound, notification lights and other sound. However, i am not getting any screen action, the screen is not coming on, nothing.
So, as we all must know by now, the Note 4 Retail version got the CID conversion, and now we have access to root.
But I have no such thing, because when I was messing with TWRP I couldn't flash SuperSu or Emotion r21. This resulted in a bootloop, and since I couldn't find a working way to get out of the bootloop, I decided to wipe the phone. The only issue is that I somehow accidently uninstalled android itself, leaving my phone without a system.
And now, I have used some files from http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...mware-firmware-kernel-modem-recovery-t2942937
To be more specific, I tried to flash the "Stock restore" file, as that seemed to be the best option. I got about 98% of the way through it with Odin before I got a write-denied error.
And that's strange because I have my phone in developer mode.
And now, if I plug my phone in, it gives me a screen telling me that I must use the Verizon repair assistant application on my computer, although it doesn't recognize my phone unless its normally booted up.
Hitting the power button brings me to a download mode like screen, with the text in the top left, but a picture in the middle that tells me to use Verizons repair assistant.
The screen says "Software Update Failed ... Your device didn't update successfully. Use the Verizon Software Repair Assistant on a computer to repair your device and complete the update."
Booting into recovery mode doesn't work
Booting into download mode does work, however it doesn't allow me to flash anything through Odin.
I have a Verizon Note 4 N910V Retail (w/ CID change), on 5.1.1 and latest bootloader
EDIT: Also, Odin doesn't recognize when the phone is plugged in, but the pc does. The pc doesn't know what it is though.
Odin has recognized my phone after I left it off over night
Does anybody have any idea on how to fix this? There has to be a way, since its not a bricked phone
Any help is greatly appreciated
Did you try to use verizon repair assistant?

Yes,but it refuses to recognize that my phone is plugged in
UPDATE: I flashed TWRP and i forgot to uncheck auto-boot, but it did get me out of Verizons restrictive boot. Also, Android is now present , just needing repairs
EDIT: Android is starting! Hopefully is someone else does this incredibly stupid and reckless use of TWRP like I did, they'll know how to fix it (to an extent). Sorry if this thread was more of a waste of space since I just fixed it myself (miraculously).
