LTE Only mode Android 6.0 - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, since updating my G3 to android 6.0 I can no longer access LTE only mode via the hidden menu, when I select it I just get the no service icon and it's the same when I select LTE bands too. However in auto mode I can receive LTE just fine.
I tried re flashing 5.1 and LTE only now doesn't work there either just gives me no signal unless I use auto mode. Before I updated I was able to select LTE only and even change between the 800 and 1800mhz bands.
Any ideas? I have already fully factory reset, wiped cache etc to no avail.

Modern smartphones have a large number of partitions.
During the upgrade occurs to override many of these partitions in an irretrievable.
It's one of the reasons that are not always worth it improve the system, if everything works as expected.

No Mobile Network Access with Any ROM?

Hi. I just got a new HTC One M8 with Lollipop from AT&T. I've unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP, gained root access, and then proceeded to try some new ROMs. Neither of the ones I've tried had mobile data access at all - emergency calls only. The Fusion ROM had many options for carrier and WAP, and I've tried every one of the available options, with LTE, 3G, 2G preferred, and I had no luck at all. The ViperONE ROM I just installed has the same problem. WiFi works, but mobile data does not. In both cases, I used the latest ROM release.
Any suggestions? Thanks much.
Fixed, but still unsolved - would like education.
I found some settings deep inside Venom Tweaks... under Misc / Phone Info, I turned off the radio, turned it back on, and toggled the "cellinfolistrate" from 2.14 billion, to 0, to 1000 (the only 3 options.) Maybe it just needed the radio to be restarted; I played with the other setting rather quickly after power cycling the radio. It's a bit unintuitive though; I full restarted the phone a few times prior which did not fix it.
So to summarize, I'd like to know any tips or suggestions regarding this aspect for my my own knowledge. Thanks.

Preferred network type won't change

Hi,
i'm currently running the latest CM13 and have a problem with the Preferred network type. It stays on "LTE (recommended)" and i can't change it to 3G or 2G. In Phone information (*#*#4636#*#*) it stays on "GSM only" and won't change to anything.
When i go back to LG's Stock 6.0 all changes work. With previous versions of CM13 (first 5 versions i think) it works also.
Does anyone have any idea?

I have the same issue on my LG G4 h815. I cleanly flashed the latest nightly of CM13 (cm-13.0-20160102-NIGHTLY-h815.zip), after first upgrading to the stock 20A image and installed TWRP. I flashed CM13 using TWRP. Then I flashed nano gapps. H+ is the fastest cell tech here, and my phone just can't use the cell network (it seems to connect, but never shows H+ and no data bits are routed). And when I went into the menu to select 3G as the preferred network, it won't let me change it from LTE. It clicks when I choose 3G and 2G, but the selection stays on LTE. When I go into the special menu for radio options, same thing, I can't select a different network mode (it simply stays on the current selection). Wifi works just fine, but cell phone use doesn't work -- no calls, no data. I also upgraded to the next nightly, but it didn't make any difference in behavior.
@Chipstepper Can you tell me which CM13 image worked? I'm going to try cm-13.0-20151125-NIGHTLY-h815.zip ..
Same Problem here on my Moto X 2014. I tried every CM13 nightly between Christmas and early January. I was never able to change the Radiobutton in Preferred Networks and connection in phone information was always GSM only. I also tried a clean flash of the cm-13.0-20160108 nightly, still the same problem.
Now I switched back to my CM12.1 backup where it's working.
Can somebody name a nightly where it's confirmed working?

Network Signal Dropping after update to 6.0M (Poland)

When i bought D855p it came with 4.4, then i updated to 5.1, all official. After this i installed Cyanogenmod 12.1 and everything were fine. But when i installed 6.0(poland) my network signal keeps droping the intire day, it changes to UMTS and HSPA. I cant use my phone as a phone. The only way to solve this is, every time that i turn off the cel or put in airplane mode, is enter in MOBILE NETWORKS > NETWORK OPERATORS > SEARCH NETWORKS and choose GSM. (but i need to do this EEEEEVERY TIME that my cel turns off/airplane mode).
6.0 is the only ROM that i can choose GSM and the signal keep ~stable~. At least i can use my phone as a phone !
I did a backup of my IMEI before installing cm12 as well.
Things that i already tried :
-Flash ALL modem (ALL) , including 21C.
-intall cm13 and after cm12. Using TWRP 2.8 and 3.0.
-stock 4.4 , 5.0 , 5.1 and again 6.0. Using LGFlashTools
-MANY factory resets and wipes !
anybody can help me ? :good:
Same issue. I am on stock 4.4 and mobile network signal keeps dropping on weak signal area. I set to gsm/edge mode to mobile network. But nothing goes fine.

Doesn't work , sadly :crying:
i also tried to put in Network mode : GSM/WCDMA ( worked ) but when i choose GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto , signal drops every time. It is a solution to do this, but i cant use my LTE, and it sucks ...
Disable VOLTE n go to ur models service menu (check google) for me it was
*#546368#*851# (my model = d851)
*#546368#*XXX# (ur model=D8XX) verizon sprint numbers are differently
go to field test >network mode>set GSM permanently (try different gsm 850,990,etc)
Back > RAT selection > select GSM
U cant have network problems now cuz ur permanently set to gsm dont use 3g or 4g use wifi
hit like it helps

I'm sad to hear that. Try also flashing modem 21C. There are also other guides for restoring your signal around the forum, different things seem to work for different people.

Cant choose Network after upgrading to MM

Hi,
I've upgraded my note 4 to MM using the "Bootloader unlock and safe upgrade to MM "post from the general section. Now I'm having the next problems:
1.-I'm using a GSM Sim Card and it works but when I try to change the network mode I only get LTE/CDMA and CDMA, if I select one of those the networks, it stops working, and to go back I have to do a Network Settings Reset.
2.-I cant use MMI codes from my operator, I think that this might be due to the first problem.
What can I do to fix this?
Flash jasmine rom instead

Is this the only solution? install another ROM?
Same problem on 5.1.1. Non VZ SIM, two phones (both VZ Note 4's) - the 'Global' network mode option disappears, as does the entire 'APN' button. Restoring to full 5.1.1 (non rooted, etc) resolves this. It appears that during the original setup wizard stage, something (Knox? License Agent? Dunno?) does something and then I can use my non-VZ SIM.
The same thing during a rooted/partial-system-5.1.1 (systemonlyN910V-5.1.1.tar) + factory reset, there is a 'Knox has stopped responding' and the SIM never seems to work, and the network mode options do not allow me to select Global, or input an APN (there is no APN button).
Same thing but *without* wiping "data" (ie, not selecting 'factory reset'), the SIM works, or rather I can select 'Global' as my network mode, and the APN options are available.
Unfortunately I also have to go thru the process of removing KingRoot and the other junk at this point.
My theory at this morning is that there is a setting on 'data' that Knox applies during the setup wizard(s) that affects how the network options work with a non-vz SIM.
I suspect that if you have a normal VZ SIM and go thru the root process above, you probably have limited (fixed) network options but they are the settings that work with vz.
Some or all of the above may be totally wrong - I'm learning daily and have lots of learning left to do.

mobile radio issues after T-mobile Oreo update

The Nougat to Oreo OTA update would never install so I did a full wipe and manually installed OCXS27.1 via flashall. since then, I lose all signal/data every 2 minutes or so. If I go into Phone info (*#*#4636#*#*), I notice the Mobile Radio Power toggle will switch off/on intermittently.
when I try resetting all network settings, the connection becomes consistent but the phone doesnt recognize I have mobile data (shows full bars and 4G LTE icon).
I have tried several different basebands and their corresponding OTAs but the issue persists, an issue that was not present on Nougat.

- M8998TMO_20207.117.02.41.02R
- M8998TMO_20207.117.02.41.05R
- M8998TMO_20207.117.02.41.06R
I've even tried a different sim card.
any ideas?
When at Phone info, you can change Preferred Network Type to Global (PRL) or LTE/UMTS auto (PRL) if you are outside of US. My ATT (of course carrier unlocked) is now running on LTE/UMTS auto (PRL) and everything is fine.
