I'm asking this question because the current build of CM13 for the N910V is underdeveloped at this time and I was wondering if I could flash CM13 for the SM-N910T or the sprint variant without any modem issues, etc.
Do a nandroid using TWRP and try it out. I've been testing different ROMs myself. I don't care for ASOP. Kind of ugly and useless without stock Samsung Apps. But I have tested MIUI, and a few other stock based ROMs found in the international Note 4 forum.

Just backup your EFS, Modem, and Boot partitions for sure. If you get a successful flash, immediately use TWRP to restore those partitions and you should be golden. Might also have to edit build.prop to avoid Play Store issues.

Has anyone tried a Sprint TW rom 6.0.1? I may give it a whirl and see if it works.

what roms are available to flash?
Hi there,
I find myself in an unusual(i think?) situation in that I have the verizon Note 4 but i live in Ireland. Now while the phone is sim free for the most part, Data does not work here without a verizon plan obviously and it would have to be a roaming plan so I would'nt even think about purchasing one. So i've been waiting for an opportunity to root my N4, now that there is a method I'm just wondering if I would be able to flash a stock Irl/Uk rom to my phone, or another rom that would allow me to have data and spen features. I would like to find out if this is possible before I attempt to root. My phone is on 5.1.1 and is the BPA1 version. Any help much appreciated, thanks.

Pending you could add the correct APN for whatever carrier you will be using, you should be fine. I purchased 2 of these devices nearly 2 years ago. I'm on Verizon prepaid and my wife has been on T-Mobile every since.
Funny thing is I didn't have to set her APN manually. The phone did it automatically the day I put her SIM in. Now she doesn't get the full potential of LTE speeds and MMS is a bit kwonky, but it works.

Thanks for the reply,
do you mean add the APN settings after i've rooted? I'm intending to flash the vodafone 5.1.1 IRL Stock Rom if it's possible, I already tried adding the APN settings and it does not work(unrooted) due to bootloader being locked and like i said i would need a verizon roaming plan to be able to use data. So if I get root and flash IRL vodafone stock rom, will I still have an unlocked phone or not? I'm not an expert in this but I would assume the phone would then be locked on the vodafone network yes? Or would it remain unlocked to any network? So just to be clear, what i would like to know is 1. will I be able to flash a stock rom from Vodafone Ireland once i'm rooted 2. If I do manage to flash Vodafone stock rom, will the phone still be unlocked or locked to vodafone? Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

Unlocked sim and unlocked bootloader are different. The phone is sim unlocked from the factory and can never be sim relocked (for lack of a better term). So to answer #2, the phone will not be locked to vodafone.
For #1, I seriously doubt you could odin a stock vodafone rom to this phone and even if you could I'd highly discourage it. If the file contained a bootloader, it would lock the bootloader and could potentially brick the phone. I would recommend unlocking the bootloader, flashing TWRP recovery, rooting (or flash a rooted rom), and add your APN's. If the stock rom is blocking you from adding APN's there are hacks to get around it once rooted. I used to use an app called APN Manager that you install as a /system app that would let you change APN's as you wish.

Any Touchwiz rom should support the S Pen. I believe the Paul (5.1.1) rom does. There's a Note 5 rom that should support it. Just stay away from CM13 or any AOSP roms and you should have S Pen support.

Not such an unusual situation hello from Ireland also a proud verizon note 4 user myself. Meteor and Emobile for me. Data works fine. Let me know if ya need any help.
I am also curious about this situation. I got an awesome deal for my 910v; brand new unopened for 280usd. Only problem is T-mobile sim doesn't get service, and it seems people have lost T-mobile service after upgrading to 5.0. So now I'm stuck with my aging S3 and this brilliant phone just sits there. Fingers crossed that johnboy sees some good results T.T

I just successfully rooted my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 using Odin and CWM Recovery.
This is exactly what I did:
- D/L Odin 3.04 and "cwm6-root-note2.tar" and saved them to my Desktop
- Extracted Odin and started the program
- Set my Note 2 to USB Debugging
- Restarted the Note 2 in "Downloading Mode" by holding down Volume Down, Home & Power buttons simultaneously
- Connected usb cord to my phone and computer
- Confirmed that Odin registered connection of my phone correctly on COM port
- Went to PDA, then selected "cwm6-root-note2.tar"
- Then I selected start, or root or whatever starts the process. And voila! Rooted with CWM & SuperUser App.
However, I might be returning the phone so I now need to know how to reverse that process and UNROOT my phone. Can someone please help walk me through that process? Do I need to obtain more files that were overwritten or deleted when I rooted?
Also, I thought, perhaps, I could unroot using the SuperUser app so I chose the option that said something like "Unroot.... etc." All it did, however, was get rid of Super User because when I restart my phone in recovery mode, it still boots CWM-based Recovery v6.0.1.4
Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you for your assistance. Which link do I download though? Are they all the same? Or do I need to find the link with the country I bought the phone in? If so, I didn't see Korea on that list at all.
Also, when I do this, will the counter be reset to zero?

Hi,
So you rooted a LTE version, can I ask which version did you have (SHV-E250S / SHV-E250K / SHV-E250L)?
Is it meaning the rooting process of LTE version is same as the non LTE (3G?) Note II?
Also, what is the reason of returning the phone? Did you find something not good with LTE?
Thank you.

I rooted a SHV-E250L. The process went very smoothly. Especially considering I'd never rooted a phone before. So, from my experience, it seems to be the same process but don't take my word for it.
The phone is awesome - no problems at all. It was just very expensive and I was having a little buyer's remorse. I'm over it now. I was also concerned about not being able to use it in the US when I move back, which I am still unsure about. I have asked a few developers on here but haven't heard back yet. If possible, I'd like to flash a US ROM on the phone so that I can use it on the networks there and access the unrestricted Google Play Store... so, we'll see.
Hope that helps.

I dont think these will work with your phone. These are for rhe N7100. Going by your recent posts, it looks like you have a different model.

Brian,
I am living in Korea as well and I have a lot of experience with the Korean smart phones.
To answer some of your questions, you can use them in the states with either a Stateside SIM (assuming your phone is unlocked, you can get it unlocked from the store if you're going to be traveling) or a Korean SIM (obvious roaming charges). I don't think the LTE bands are the same in SK and the US, therefore you wouldn't be able to use the LTE.
In my experience (with my SGS1) you won't be able to flash a US or Int'l ROM on your Korean model. The internals might be closer than the SGS1 and it's variants were but I wouldn't do it unless you have the Note2 Korean ROM ready to flash back with Odin in the event it won't boot.
You can get unrestricted Play Store access now. You need to download MarketAccess. Google it. it Allows you to basically tell the phone what network it thinks it's on.
In the event you ever need to unroot your phone, you just need to use Odin to flash the official firmware.
If you need anything else, let me know...

Most likely Tegrak will have a kernel for this device before too long. You would then be able to use the Odin software to root the phone. The process is the same for both.

Thank you so much for the answers. I really appreciate it. So, you're saying for sure I will not be able to use this phone's LTE capabilities in the US on any network? If so, that's a huge game changer for me... I wonder what LG U+'s return policy is... I know I can just transfer the phone to someone else here in Korea when I leave and pick up a Note 2 in the states when I go back but I feel like I'd be losing a lot of money since the cost of the phone is spread out amongst the monthly payments here in Korea. Are there any phones that will work work both on SK LTE and US LTE?
Regarding un-rooting my phone, don't I need to get a hold on the official firmware before I can flash it with Odin? Or is it stored somewhere on my phone? All the official firmwares I've seen on XDA are for the N7100 not the N7105. Any suggestions?
Thank you, again, for all your support. You rock!

No problem, glad to help.
I am also looking for the firmware online. I haven't found it yet. PM me your email and when I find it, I'll send it over to you.
All info I have read says LTE is different. The 3G would still work just no LTE.
Idk what LG's policy is, but you could take it to Samsung a/s in the electronics market to revert it if needed.
Good luck. I might know someone who could take the phone of your hands next year if you want to go that route.

Flash counter didn't exist when I was tinkering with me s1. I'll have to investigate. I would imagine there will be a way to revert it. I also would guess the Samsung a/s could do it?

SHV-E250S problem.
Hello SHV-E250S/K/L users.
Does anyone know where I can download an official factory stock ROM for my SHV-E250S ?
I have an IMEI missing issue, and EFS file deleted issue. After wich i have a black notice on the screen and no boot logo or turn of logo, it just switches straight away after pressing the button.
No network or IMEI(((
I just came back from the Samsung official service center, and guess what, they can`t help me. They say i need to flash an original factory rom, i even brought them the two roms i downloaded from the: www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=SHV-E250S&pcode=0&os=1&type=1#firmware
And they said that these are not official factory roms, that they are custom, all thaw when i flash with one them, and go to recovery mode, my current binary changes to official. Don’t know why but everything else stays the same:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SHV-E250S
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: Yes (37 counts)
CURENT BINARY: Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
DON`T KNOW HOW TO FIX, AND WHERE TO GET FACTORY ROM((((
Would appreciate any help!

Thank you.
I recently flashed my 1st Rom (CM10) on my samsung galaxy s3 t999) and thought everything was fine till I tried switching from At&t back to t mobile and noticed the sim wouldn't work so tried 2 other companies straight talk and simple mobile and they didn't work either but they work in my unlocked iphone. So what could be the problem I tried different roms and even checked my imei and its clean.
Anybody?
Not sure what it could be....It is unlocked because you were using it on AT&T right?
Best I can say is to Odin flash the stock firmware and try it that way. Then if needed, try going through the steps laid out in the unlock thread in the General section. If it still isn't connecting, call T-Mobile as it sounds more like an account issue than a phone one....
Did you change APNs? That might cause it.

This. Or if the Rom came from the AT&T forum it may have come with the wrong ones too. Either change to a T-Mobile apn or flash one of the roms from here if this is the case.

Doc he tried the Sim in an Iphone. So its prolly isn't Account but APN probably instead.
I am looking to use a T-Mobile N3 on AT&T LTE in USA (for unlocked bootloader so I can use custom ROM). Is this possible? Are there any nuances of the phone/connectivity that would not work? Is it as simple as putting my AT&T sim in the phone? Sorry, not too tech savvy. Thanks
I'm using my T-Mobile Note 3 with ATT right now. If I remember correctly I just popped in the SIM and it worked. This is after I set it up with a T-Mobile card, though, and I may have unlocked before using the ATT card.
Now I have it rooted too, everything is fine.
EDIT: sorry I forgot to mention I also changed the APN settings after putting in the ATT card. I think you have to do that too. Bookmonke in his better response below has the link with the info.
NOW FOR A HIJACK:
I want Google Wallet to work, so I think I need to upgrade to KitKat.
Any suggestions as to which ROM to use on this phone that is both KitKat and will work best with ATT?
Also I guess I will have to install TWRP or Clockwork, and thus 'trip Knox' whatever that means. Should I care? I'm not going to return the phone at this point.

Yes, T-moble 900T works great on AT&T, just needs SIM unlocked and the proper APN put in, follow this thread for the best way.

The Knox feature is about security which will no longer operate if tripped. It can also mean the loss of warranty for your device. As for roms check the developer roms to see which one's offer the features you want.

I just used Chainfires root and used his region unlock to get rid of the sim lock, then used goo manager from play store to install TWRP.

Thank you very much. What is the best way to root the N900T and install a custom recovery? Chainfire seems to only root the device without installing a recovery? Is there a step by step guide on how to do both? Haven't been able to find an all-encompassing one. Thanks

Hello!
I am currently with Telus and have just unlocked my S3 after purchasing the unlock code. If the phone is on the stock Samsung ROM, I can insert a Wind or Rogers SIM and it works fine. However, on the CM-12.1-20150519-NIGHTLY-d2att ROM, it will _not_ connect to any other network. I tried manually searching for network but it fails with a message like Unable to search networks.
I'm not sure why this is happening or how to troubleshoot this. I would prefer to stick with a Lollipop ROM for now.
The CM d2att wikki page does say that since CM11, we should be using the d2lte version for this phone. So should I be installing the d2lte ROM instead?
Thank you

I installed cm-11-20141112-SNAPSHOT-M12-d2lte and unfortunately you were right. I still can't connect to WIND.
I have another fully stock S3 and I ran the Samsung Phone Info app on both to compare. Under the Firmware tab, the PDA version and CSC version is empty on the phone running CM11. Please see screenshots attached which shows this.
Also, I ran the SIM Toolkit app, tapped Manager Services and it gave me a ME returned a temporary error.
Any help would be greatly appreciated to troubleshoot this. To me it does not make any sense that on a unlocked phone, with stock or custom ROM, Telus (this phone was locked to Telus originally) connects just fine. With stock ROM, I can connect to WIND and Rogers but cannot connect to either when running a custom ROM
aaaaaahhhh !!!! @audit13 , hhhhheeeellllpppp !! (please) :what:

The case is missing because there is no carrier customization on a custom rom.
It was my understanding that wind uses aws which the s3 does not natively support although there are hacks to enable these frequencies.
I am not sure how it could connect to wind on a stock rom.

Hello Mr audit13! It's not just that I can't connect to WIND when runnning CM11, I also can't connect to Rogers. Does that still mean there is a frequency issue?
Edit: Looking at WINDs website: (http://www.windmobile.ca/my-wind/faq/devices)
"The WIND Mobile network uses a frequency called AWS, with bands 1700/2100 MHz.(Phones compatible with the U.S. T-Mobile network often work with WIND)"
When you load cm11 or cm12, does your phone show the correct imei?
Which stock rom will connect to wind and Rogers?
Which baseband are you using with cm11 and cm12?
Crazy autocorrect on my iPad changed csc to case
autocorrect OFF. lol. ty for coming to help.

I just did a sanity check. Installed stock ROM and put the WIND SIM in it. It wouldn't connect automatically so I searched for network and it does not show WIND in that list. It only shows WIND Away which is Rogers or Telus I think.
@audit13, you were correct. This phone will not connect to WIND.
I guess I'll just buy a new phone. Nexus 6, here I come!
Anyone in the market for 2 S3's? One is unlocked.
The i747m can connect to wind with a software hack; however, the hack must be applied every time you reboot the phone.
How much for the s3? It's still a great phone.

I see a couple of S3 on sale on Kijiji for 180. Both phones are in pretty good condition. So I am hoping 180 for the unlocked and 160 for the locked one.
Just wanted to let you know that I bought a refurb s3 from koodo for 90 and a refurb note 2 for 180 from koodo. Both come with a 1 year Samsung warranty. They both looked new. You can't find the phones on their website, you need to call the store and ask for stock. I got these phones with no contract, unlocked them via code, and are being used on Rogers and bell.
Oh, hmm. Well, I guess I will try my luck on Kjiji.
Thanks for all your help.
I've checked out kijiji and craigslist and the prices are similar to your asking price. Many people don't know that Koodo sells refurb phones and it was just a matter if luck for me when I got the phones. They weren't even for me! I've been using an old HTC One X from Rogers for the past 8 months
After reading news that Factory Reset leaves most of the data on the phone (research done at Cambridge University), I am very very hesitant to sell my phones now.

That only applies to the ROMs up to 4.3. Why not just flash 4.4.2 a few times, encrypt, decrypt, re-flash? I'm not positive these steps will make it better but it's the only thing I know of.
Hello, I'm currently using a Galaxy s9+ on ATT and plan on switching to Tmobile this week. Besides unlocking the phone do I have to do anything else for the phone to take advantage of TMobile? Do I have to flash TMobile firmware or anything like that in order for the phone to work properly and if so how, I've been out of the flashing game for a LONG time .
No you don't have to flash t mobile rom as I know when you put a new sim the phone reboots and sets the phone up for that carrier that's what it does on my s9 but mine the unlocked one so I got wifi calling with t mobile sim card in my phone
T mobile
The screen shots should show up
same boat but need to flash TMB image
okay hear's the deal, i am in the same boat moved to T-Mobile few days back and i have a Vzw branded S9+. i was of the opinion that things would workout great, but my area has poor t-Mobile network and i have been unsuccessfully attempted to flash TMB firmware on this phone. I have tried just about all combinations, and every-time the flash is done it boots back as a brand new Vzw phone and looks for a Vzw sim. I insert the TMB SIM and things work but not WIFI calling. Any leads?

What odin you use??
1.13.1 patched.
---------- Post added at 02:54 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:51 AM ----------
Some more details if that helps..
Paid $24 to Sammobil, went through the flashing process and nothing changed. Did this almost 5 times but seems VZW keeps haunting me. Am I doing something wrong? I downloaded the latest firmware RB8 from Aug 2018 for TMB via sammobile flashed the 4 files AP, BT,CP and CSC. Everything went perfect but when it boots back Damn the same old VZW and the OS says u have a non vzw sim. I even flashed the userdata with the other four and separately but no luck. Do we have any success stories and how we dis this correctly? Using Odin 1.13.3 patched version. Tried to downgrade but that failed.
Use 3.13 I believe

Yes sorry typo error, 3.13.1_3B
Not trying to start a new thread with something similar so I'm just gonna post underneath this one. I have an AT&T S9 that is sim unlocked and all but, for the life of me I can't get it to work on Verizon. I've tried changing the bands in the *#*#3696#*#* menu and all I get is, is data. I tried flashing ARG7 unlocked I believe and it still booted with all the AT&T stuff loaded. The build number now shows ARG7 instead of ARG8. I don't know if there's a specific odin / firmware I need to flash in order to be able to get it right. I've been hunting for hours and flashing and I'm at a loss. Thank you guys in advance.

All the carrier stuff is located in the CSC from the flash.
Side note: from what I've read, Verizon locks down the bands and whatnots that stop TMobile stuff from functioning, like WiFi calling.
I've seen people get it working but not the video calls.

There a thread around here that talks about how to get the TMobile services but WiFi calling is all they could get to work. You have to flash the CSC (home partition) from TMobile is what I've heard. I've also heard, you can put in a TMobile Sim and it'll just work. But, I think that might be limited to "factory unlocked" phones.

If I'm not mistaking, it's the one that talks about flashing the u fw to the u1.

Read through all the 16 page thread and found very useful comments from you on usage of V3 detonator and Csc changer. I stand confused over just 2 questions;
1. Do I have to root my s9+ which is from vzw
2. It talks about F and FD variant while I have a u variant running snapdragon.
Show me some light .
