LG gallery app all of a sudden not showing all images - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Friends,
I have a non-rooted LG G4 (H818p).
The LG gallery app has always worked well... until yesterday.
All of a sudden, it simply started not showing the images on the internal storage (i.e. WhatsApp images, WhatsApp videos, and others).
The folders with the respective images and videos are still there. I can acess them and view them through the file manager. But the LG gallery app simply won't show them.
I have checked that there is no ".nomedia" files in the repective folders...
What can I do?
Any suggestions will be very welcome...

Clean data on media storage and reboot all will be fine

Thanks for the help.
Did it... still no good...
It's only showing images that are on the SD Card, nothing from internal storage...
Had tried that before. Did it again... still nothing.
Other suggestions?
P.S. Just installed QuickPic (gallery app alternative) to test whether it was related to the LG official gallery app. The new app (QuickPic) shows all folders correctly...

Hey having a similar issue. My gallery app is only displaying photos I've taken with the camera, but not any other image files found on my SD card.
Currently running GummyNex rom.
The only method i know is to do a media scan.
If your phone is rooted you can use SAMBA to request a media scan.
Not rooted.
Tried scan in fx explorer.
No luck
Tried Settings->Apps->All-> Gallery-> Clear data?
I just had literally the opposite problem. My Gallery would show no photos on the device- just the online albums.
A "Clear Data" (in settings) and "Force Stop" fixed it. Still odd though. Also, pictures were still there, it was just like Gallery couldn't read the internal storage...
Shows sine. But not folders in folders
Hey guys, I had issues too with my gallery so I just went to market and installed Quickpic! I will never use the default Android gallery again. It is flawless and has lots of features. Hope this helps.
This is a workaround i think

Hello there I'm having a similar problem where if I move a jpg anywhere into the internal storage manually, including to where the camera stores images, the pictures do not show up in the gallery. I've also tried quickpic with no results. Thoughts?

[Q] Old photos don't show up in gallery

I have some photos in my SD card which showed up properly in the gallery before. However, all those photos don't show up after I flashed a new Rom. Only photos taken after flashing are showed in the gallery. I tried to reboot, wipe cache, rescan media but nothing success.
Any one can help?

Yes, because different Roms use different folders for gallery. Just take a picture and browse your card and see where it puts it (somewhere in DCIM folder). After locating the folder just move the photos from old folder to the new one where your picture was taken and you should now see all your photos.(Some roms put pictures in folder named "100Andro", other in "pictures", "images", "camera".....

Yes, I toke a testing picture, located the new folder "Camera" and move all old photos to there. But still just the testing picture is shown up. All moved old pictures are still missing in the gallery. Already reboot to renew the media library.
Can you try using a 3rd party pic viewer I use quickpic, which seems to work well.

Thanks. I also used quick pic and it loads all pictures. But I prefer SE stock gallery as there is a geo map function, so wanna sort out a solution.

try some of these
- clear all defaults for the gallery app
- clear all data
- take out and put back in sd card
- make another gallery app the default and then reboot, clear defaults and revert default back to the stock gallery app

Note 2 won't read my 8GB microsd but...

Whenever I try viewing files that are on my memory card, the note 2 won't show the files on the gallery or anything.
But if I open up ES file explorer, the files show up perfectly and play fine. I reformatted my card and tried it again, but no file shows up on the gallery.
I seriously doubt it's corrupt because only the gallery and native apps won't show the files. But my computer and third party file management apps show up files and folders. It's a lexicon sd card that I bought at best buy so I don't think it's a Chinese knock off.

Is the media scanner disabled ? If yes, try re-scanning the media using rescan media application.

[Q] Galaxy Note 2 gallery issue

Morning All,
I have just had to reset my galaxy note 2 to factory settings. I recovered my account using google, and copied all my photos etc back across.
Anyway the stock gallery app is not displaying all my media like photos and videos, they are definatly on the phone as using a file explorer app i can locate them no problem. I have tried moving them to a different folder, ie media instead of pictures but they still will not show in gallery.
I have also tried a 3rd party gallery app to no avail.
The device isnt rooted and is using android 4.4.2
Muchos appreciate your help
Chris
